Honestly, I don't think he's going to be release it. Its been the better part of a year now since I first heard mention of this.

Maybe he doesn't have time...But it obviously ain't gonna happen.
No answer has been realistic. Now i'm not getting answers at all...

:(

I'm sorry that I don't have time to be on here 24/7 to answer questions. My time for the past few months has been school -> home -> homework -> work -> bed. So, yeah, I don't have time to sit down and develop this to your standards. Its FREE! And v1.1 has about 10x more features planned than v1.0 would ever have had, so it takes more time.

mykkal 11-07-2009 01:19 PM

You've been telling me a "wait a few weeks" for a year.

What good is free when i'm getting older waiting on a beta?

Everyone gets older waiting for everything. What's the point in applying to a school, when I get older waiting for a reply? A job? A paycheck? The difference is this isn't my entire life. I don't spend every minute of every day on my computer developing.

ok so during all of these replies... What is so wrong with clarifying when your release will be... which you've told me was immient since last February?

For some reason my question seems unreasonable to you. I don't get that.

King Kovifor 11-08-2009 07:01 PM

Clarifying the release? What's to clarify except that it's not ready.

Guys this is funny. Watch for this posting to be deleted.

A while back I asked King if there was a immediate release of VBtwitter coming. He told me not worry 1.1 was around the corner. A few months later I asked again just cause I was willing to invest in the product myself. Being that he was on a school break he said he was working on a release to be made.

lol...Almost a year from the original question I asked again, politely, like I always do. His reply to me is in the quote above.

lol... dude really, i'm just asking if your going to do it because you've been working on it a year. Microsoft built a brand new extra complicated OS called windows 7 (beta) from scratch in that time.

My point is:
1. Why give an expectation? And if you aren't gung ho about developing it anymore just say so and move on. You did such a good job with the first release many have refused to delevop it because everyone is waiting on your next release.

2. if your working on something for a year and getting no where maybe ask for help. if you've actually been "working" on it.

3. Its free. Why be a jerk about it when a simple question is posed. You set the expectation it would be there. Not any of us.

4. I've noticed the number of installs decreasing or staying stagnant over time. Just saying...

I only want a simple answer. Are you still developing and if so when is a realistic release date? If not can we continue to develop your mod independently of you.

I've been asking the latter since April...

Your "polite" replies have always been sarcastic and demanding. That's all I will say on that subject. Now, to comparing the amount of time it has taken me to developing this to Windows 7 is rather unfair. Microsoft has thousands of developers working 8 hour days, 5 days a week to develop the software. There's 1. Who can only devote at max, 2 hours a day to finishing this problem.

1. It will be released. I set the expectation and fail on it because of my life currently. My life isn't all peachy keen right now, and it's really hard for me to focus on school, let alone on anything else.

2. Who says I'm "stuck"? I only said that I lost my AJAX developer, so AJAX may not come to vBTwitter in v1.1.

3. The "simple" question has been posted several times by you, and the same answer has been given each and every time.

4. I don't care about number of installs. If only 1 person used my product, it would make me happy that one person has been helped by this program. Installs don't matter in my book.

Yes, I'm still developing it. A realistic release date? Within the next 200 years should cover it. Set the expectation realistic enough for you?

mykkal 11-18-2009 08:04 PM

Hilarious!

Actually your responses got more vague over time. I hope your life does get much more manageable for you.

But yea you did set some expectations and if people are taking you at your word at least tell us whats up before we have to ask you.

or if your giving updates... maybe put them in the first portion of the thread because this entire communication is too long to read entirely.

its not like people don't want what you have and I have even offered to pay for it to make it worthy of your time.

you've been pretty much a jerk about this subject.

wow. The third "well-known" (as far as I'm concerned) that has given such feedback regarding vBulletin. And I just have to ask ((sorry for the off-topic in advance - but curious mind(s) want to know...)) -- How's IPB working out for you? Feel free to PM me. Thanks ;)

Jacquii.

ragtek 11-19-2009 12:59 AM

[ot]As you see, i'm back and active in the vB scene;)
ipb is a very good product, but i decided to stay with vb and to give "vbulletin solutions" a chance, because it would be too much work, to rewrite all my custom stuff(my boards are very heavy modded^^) into the ipb "framework"
also my member "killed" my, as they read that i will switch the forumsoftware, they don't wanted something new...

sorry for offtopic^^[/ot]

Glad to know - I've been part of the vB scene for a minute or two and know the caliber of your work ==> I'm glad to know that you are addicted to vB https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ and also that your opinion of IPB is very good as well... Thanks ^.^

Jacquii.

btw - I don't think you are the "bad guy" lol - Stuff happens... Anyway - it will be nice to see you and Jeremy working together on the 1.1 version vBTwitter :)

It's true. If he expresses interest in wanting to come back, he is more than welcome to.

beatthecasino 11-22-2009 07:02 PM

When I added this mod none of the
LinkBack Thread Tools Display Modes will expand.

Example is here.

Beatthecasino.com/bb click on any thread.
Any ideas?

That's actually rather kind Jeremy. And wow - What a tortuous relationship between myself and a former-client ==> just ended - and not on the best of terms by any stretch of the imagination. I love the concept of welcoming someone back to the fold - so I hope you guys' relationship is still on good terms, because we all love the work you two have done with vBTwitter :)

muckleroy 12-03-2009 07:05 AM

I think the TWEET would be more interesting if the title of the post was included. I've been poking at it, but can't quite get it.

Basically it would read "TonyMuckleroy Check this Out! Tiger Woods Crashes Car! http://www.xjtalk.com/tp.php?i=25869&c=25869"

In this example; "Tiger Woods Crashes Car!" is the title of the thread.

madmax1228 12-09-2009 11:40 AM

Installed, but I keep getting a "Whoa THere" message from Twitter saying my token information is already in use. I am sure I have something set incorrectly. If anyon can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

I'm getting the same thing.

madmax1228 12-12-2009 04:48 PM

I have tried all I can to make it work. I am sure the issues is in something I did, but can not find it. Hopefully someone will chime in with a solution before I pull the mod out.

Did you register an OAuth application?

madmax1228 12-12-2009 06:44 PM

Yes, I followed the directions at the top of the thread or at least I attempted to follow those directions.

Here is what I get when trying to tweet a thread or post.

Woah there!

King Kovifor 12-12-2009 11:34 PM

Crap. There's a step that's missing up there... You need to post the OAuth keys in your vBSettings for vBTwitter.

madmax1228 12-13-2009 11:58 AM

I caught that. Near as I can tell barring a setting incorrect on my end, Twitter is not generating fresh keys, but again, just a WAG.

You've added them?

madmax1228 12-14-2009 12:27 PM

I have added them. I have regenerated them several times and still get the same message. Strange.

OSanchez 12-17-2009 09:39 PM

I get this error when I press "Tweet Post". Please help me.

Same error as above, have all the application and stuff working, PHP 5.2.6 or something, MYSQL 5 and CURL enabled.

King Kovifor 12-23-2009 01:04 AM

do you have php5?

OSanchez 12-23-2009 02:49 AM

5.2.9 is what I have.

I'm having a similar problem to the one's posted on the last 2 pages. I successfully downloaded it, installed it, and entered my consumer key's. I allowed Access to twitter, but when I tweet threads or posts, they don't appear on the twitter account. It's like nothing happens when I click "tweet this post". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Great Mod by the way.

Did you add the keys to your ACP settings?
