Just create a secondary usergroup, and restrict a category only to that group.

The only trouble with that idea is you can only have so many usergroups before you get boz-eyed and loose track with what the hell you doing :confused: :eek:

Great mod, just upgraded, but..

Having an issue with thumbnails in the new category, not showing and not saving but works in the old category.

Yes, thanks for that FINALLY. If you would have included that when not answering the first two times I could have saved a second search for the word divx on over 40+ pages when divx was never in the reply as 2-3 of us had already asked. Did you take your time? Jaxel's mod works flawlessly form what I saw, I just un-installed and it was working fine on a brand new 3.8 board. I suggest un-install then re-install but take your time and make sure everything is uploaded and you followed all his steps. He might have other advice as this is his mod but just a suggestion.

I have a serious problem with Video Directory which is not caused by script itself. After installation, i got below error and couldnt/cant run this hack.

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.2:



Invalid SQL:

I did "ALTER DATABASE db_name CHARACTER SET latin5" through phpmyadmin but nothing changed.

Anyone can help ?

There is a bug in the youtube module which prevents some videos from working.

Here is an example video:

Youtube displays the following embed code:

However video directory remixed displays the following embed code:

If I visit the actual url from the video directory's embed code, then as expected, the video does not play. This url is http://www.youtube.com/v/_lxakVAaAJY...ap=%2526fmt=18

However, if you look at the end of the url, you will see &ap=%2526fmt=18
Now I don't know what this is supposed to be... but if I change that part to &fmt=18
then everything works fine.

Is anyone that is using Firefox not able to view the videos. I have a user that just shows the spinning dial. It won't load for them, but if they go directly to youtube.com it loads fine? Any ideas? His IE8 works fine.

He figured it out. He reinstalled Flash and it works fine.

We installed everything properly using 3.8.2 and it displays on the navbar, however when we click the link in the navbar to go to the "Video Directory" it says

Hello, i found a bug in megavideo.....

there is a new feature in megaupload... that if u upload a video file it will automatically upload it to megavideo,,, and i noticed any video was uploaded through megaupload ... cant be added....

Hey,

Loved this mod. Just upgraded it to the latest and everything went all smooth. Only issue is, my videos are still showing in the same old smaller size instead of the large size thats in the Screenshots. Please help. I need to have large sized HD videos too.

I have installed and imported host settings and have got many HD videos.

I got vbMediaPlayer 1.2 installed too. Can that be a problem ?

Hi,

I followed these instructions and it appeared to be working fine, but now I'm getting random database errors in certain threads:

Any ideas why this might be happening? I really want to be able to use this.

Sounds like it isn't properly carrying over the variable for the posts user id.

Try adding the video_postbit template to the cache_templates.

Hi Friends,
I did an upgrade to 1.2.4 and all of a sudden none of my usergroups are able to view any videos.The strange thing is I am not able to check this settting under 'usergroup->video-directory permissions':

Can watch and view video details

Everytime, I say 'yes' and click save, it saves. But then when I try to view it again, it resets it automatically to 'No'.

Can someone help me, I am using 3.8.0 and I have appropriate permissions set for each category under 'Video->Manage Categories'.

How can I set this up so that only certain user groups can post videos into a certain category, but general users can post videos in other categories? I want to have a category for "official" videos for my site, and separate categories for user-supplied videos.

well i have Video-directory on one of my forums and is working fin an tell today i trad to add a you tupe video and the img of the video did not show up so i went to look on the ftp and the img was there but the size of it was '' 0 '' so can u plzz help me fix this thank you.

Mad--Dog, that happened to me once. I was actually temporarily out of disk space with my hosting company. Not sure if that's your case or if your directories were not CHMOD777 for some reason.

strange question but I'm very very interested in this hack and i was wondering is there ANY way possible that i could allow users to upload their videos to it BUT make it to where I or my staff has to approve the uploaded video before others can view it if you need info as to why im asking you may pm me
