I have a simple problem hoping someone can help me with. I have the advert mod which places an ad on the left side and when I try to place my left column under it this is what ends up happening.

Would anyone who has succesfully downloaded this be willing to email me a copy of the downloaded zip? I have tried numerous times and each time when I try to extract the contents of the zip I get an unknown file type that is 0 kb in size. I have encountered a problem with my right hand column showing up correctly however the title also shows up at the bottom of the left hand column like the example I have included.

Few issues.

I tried making links in my usercp but they dont show.

I tried to manually add links to the template using code examples provided here by members, but they dont show, :( so now I'm at a loss on this.

I can see the column on the page I want and the title, but thats it. Nothing is displaying. I just uploaded v2.2 using vbulletin 3.7

Have you changed the usergroup permissions for this mod?
ACP>Usergroups>Usergroup Manager>Edit Usergroup>scroll to bottom of page for Ultimate Side Columns permissions

I was using right side column but inserting code in left side coumn templates :o

Anywho, if we set this mod to be used in userscp, how do they post their own links without editing templates manually?

After reading through, what, 42 pages of comments, it seems 50% of them are "My columns do not show" (including my post) Perhaps it would be better to make them show by default in usergroup permissions. At least that way the columns would show fom the start and then users could edit usergroup permissions and simply uncheck where they dont want them to show.

Not sure what the question is, are you asking where the custom links are displayed? That is determined by which block you edited and whether or not you are using right or left columns. Or are you asking where people insert their custom links? If you have custom links enabled then there will be a link at the bottom of the usercp menu in the person's control panel.

They're displayed with the rest of the links on the pages but I don't see them. Yes I have them enabled.

Im really thankfull.

I managed to change the color of the side column background by changing the Table Border color but it messes up the main forum color. For instance, when I change the color of the border to white, the side column background turns white, which is what I want, but the colored borders on forum page disappear.

But if you want to know how to change the color of the background on 3.7 , I have attached screenshot. If you have another way to do this please post it.

Just a note to those who may run into this problem (I just did): if you're using Cyb's Sub-Forum Manager hack / mod, it can conflict with USC 2.2 (in vB3.7.4 anyway) and break the formatting so that right-hand columns will extend out past the right side of the template / layout. Turning off the sub-forum manager solves the problem.

update to my original post. I had not noticed that you would need to go and remove any old code from the previous version of USC, hence when I did this issue resolved itself. :o

the 'below header above navbar' option doesn't work with 3.8.0, but otherwise it seems ok....

my 'custom' coding broke tho, so had to stick with one of the default options...may tweak later, but working for now...

no its pretty straight forward

although u do need to insert your own coding to the templates for each specific block that you want data to be displayed in.

Just remember, blocks 1-10 left column and the right side columns start with block 11.

OK, First post.. Need a bit of help here guys if you can. Long story short. I have used PhPBB boards for years.. Now I thought I would step up with the big boys and have a Vb. It is something else. I know I have alot to learn. What I am trying to accomplish, is to have a side bar with most resent posts and one showing whos online. I am looking for a code for both of these. The install went fine. If I were to try and write the code I feel version 5.0.0 will be out.

i know what ur talkin bout, ive been tryin to accomplish the same thing. altho i havnt found any mods that specifically show the content in the the side menu. pretty much all would have to be done would be some coding changes but im not exactly the best at this stuff.
