Sweet, I'm so excited for this vbcommerce to come out, when it does come out can I donate some money to you for your hard work?

Like, when somebody reports a Post. The person reported should automatically gain some vbCredit and the poster of that post should loose some vbCredits.

We shall see for 1.5...

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea :D

chikkoo 08-06-2007 08:01 AM

I have one more suggestion about "Override Credits Options" available under each forums in ACP->Forum Manager.

My forum has around 30 usergroups. It's really difficult to add same points to each usergroups. If there is an option for "All Groups" at the top, it would be better. It will be very useful to those who have big boards like mine.

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 08:02 AM

:) the tools i am including with 1.4 are made with you in mind chikkoo.

mass user editor, mass forum editor, mass usergroup editor, and the usual mass credit updater.

wow.. that's great...

Seems you read our mind very well.

callumj 08-06-2007 01:10 PM

Installed and working very well, but how do I stop vBCredits awarding those for posting replies and threads but keep donations?

PinkDaisy 08-06-2007 02:08 PM

Installed!! Can't wait to get the other fun stuff.. :D

Digital Jedi 08-06-2007 06:03 PM

I've been through this thread a couple of times, and I don't think it was mentioned, but then, it is a huge thread. =/

I get small but insignificant Object Expected errors on the postbit displays. It's in the lines that have the code for the little donate coin button in the postbit. The button appears to work just fine, but every instance of it puts out that Object Expected error in Char 2. Wll that be fixed in 1.4?

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 07:42 PM

sorry its taking a little long guys - i fell asleep last night :-p

set the post and thread awards to 0 in the usergroup editor

It means you have custom postbit code displaying the Credits, missing the span around the credits which is needed when awarding or editing the post. Why? so that it updates the amount automatically :)

1.4 will require you to add in the html automatically to your templates, but the good news is you will have much better control over appearance and links :)

Kalyse 08-06-2007 08:02 PM

I have installed but I cant get this working.

The only way I can get this to work is to removing the condition <if> that is wrapped around the vbCredits code.

I even installed it with TMS.

www.invision-gaming.co.uk/forums

You can see the Copyright at the bottom but no joy with any of the links showing up.
How do I view the admin back end also?

Is there suposed to be a control panel?:

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 08:05 PM

You probably want to put those conditionals back on, and head to the ACP

1.4 has a menubox of links, but until its released you have to change the options in the vb settings, and update your usergroups in the usergroup editor. there you can set the awards and the visibility of the links...

bigaldizzler 08-06-2007 10:30 PM

aw man I did a search on this mod...and it saids vbcredits doesn't have anything you can spend your points on but third party script etc. I am looking forward to install this in a few days...about the things to spend money on that I read you maybe working on can you make is so you can spend money on pets if its not already made? I saw this SMF board and you get points to spend on a little pet that shows up in your post its pretty cool (the pets were customized for that particular site, I hope to see one that can do the same) :) or find one on the boards...I will give this a install once I get some other things done! :D

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 10:31 PM

Until I have my own addon hack ready, there are instructions for use with several other hacks :) take a look at the addons forum on my site, or the list on the first post here.

Vesica 08-06-2007 10:59 PM

Is there any thoughts on a lottery and or raffle addon?

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 11:10 PM

lottery is up and running in 1.4, and it kind of works like a mix between a raffle and a lottery (because a real lottery in only a couple hundred to a couple thousand users is near impossible to ever be won by anyone)

Darkwaltz4 08-07-2007 05:13 AM

If you would like to help test out the new version of vBCredits, please click here. Also, I am filling in as I am sure everything is stable, so check back often. If everything is well I will release it to the public.

Don't want to run into bugs like last time :-p

incurable 08-07-2007 10:19 AM

works greatly to me. thanks.

txspaderz 08-07-2007 01:59 PM

I would love to be able to turn off the credits option for particular posts. Do you think you might be able to add this in?

fly 08-07-2007 05:26 PM

Why are my users being awarded huge credits 200+ for rating threads?

Also, is there a way to zero out the credits?

edit: btw, I have everything at defaults.

arena 08-07-2007 05:28 PM

Thanks

for particular POSTS, you could give them negative credits for that post using the award system.

yes, put 0 as the amount... as for thread rating, make sure the global option for that isnt set to muliply against the rating

Sorry, I didn't phrase that right. Is there an easy way to zero out everyone's credits?

And I did initially have that setting on for thread ratings. However, I just turned it off and still got about 250 credits for rating a thread.

Darkwaltz4 08-07-2007 06:00 PM

yes, using the mass credit updater in the update counters page. select all groups, dont select any awards, 0, no, no :)

that seems odd. i will look at it.. if you are sure its still happening talk to me on IM so i can look at your board.

How do I set that for a particular post?

Darkwaltz4 08-08-2007 01:05 AM

just dock their credits from that particular post using the post award system (make them lose points..)

Dream 08-08-2007 01:17 AM

Darkwaltz, if you get tired of vb, do other coders have your permission to carry on your work? I'm not saying you will, I just worry my members come to rely on a mod that is no longer supported/working.

raiderlax 08-08-2007 03:10 AM

You should turn this into a mod that costs money, and make it as good as it can be!

bigaldizzler 08-08-2007 03:22 AM

hey Dark! I was going around surfing some vbulletin boards for ideas for my board and I came across this thing were people can purchase items using I guess some credit system...I guess they are using Icash because someone on that board said something about Ishop....

I am somewhat new to this...but I am guessing your vbcredit is a something like an Icash maybe better I dont know...if I use your vbcredit will it work with Ishop? or thats why you are creating vbcommerce for vbcredit? is that your version of Ishop. Thanks Man, keep up the good work! About the installing what is TMS file in the instruction I just read it I am bout to install!:D

Dark you do some kinda donation thing man you seem to be on this alot...if I find it useful in the future I dont mind donating a little something :) I am not a coder but I am sure its hard work!

Sableye 08-08-2007 05:03 AM

This system is great. Got 2 questions.
1. How can I change the word 'credits' to something else of my choice? In the instructions, it says to edit the global phrase. Where's that located at?
2. I want my members to only receive 3 credits per post in each forum. How can I do that?

VBUsers 08-08-2007 05:31 AM

when is the store being released?

I have no intention of abandoning this hack.

There are already some paid addons and branding free options and such, which helps explain why I intend to stick around :)

Yes, I am working on my own shop system.. see my site for a preview. It does work with Ishop. TMS is a template modification system... if you have it installed the templates will be edited for you, otherwise don't worry about it and just edit them yourself. Thanks for your support though :)

Phrase editor... 1.4 has a link to it in the settings, so you will find it soon if you cant yet.
Usergroup editor is where you set each usergroup their stuff for each post and thread and like 11 other things (25ish in 1.4)

Should be testing it on my site by the end of the week, and some new previews in a day or two.

I'm loving this :) Thanks Darwaltz4, will donate once I install the credits system and store to go with it if it's working properly.

This credits and store mod will help me so much its unbelievable!

nir 08-08-2007 08:09 AM

I have the next problem (http://www.onone.co.il/images/11.GIF) when people enter the mode, what shuold i do to fix it?...

Darkwaltz4 08-08-2007 08:52 AM

That is interesting, its when there are no transaction logs. I will fix it in 1.4, its a division by 0 bug for the pagenav.. Dont know why I dont get the error displayed on any of my stuff, perhaps you are using an older version of vb? :-p

edit: yes the pagenav function should drop out before the Divide by zero issue in the conditional right before it. not sure why it goes past on yours. maybe a bad perpage setting?

its nice seeing my hack being used with other languages - it makes all the irritating phrasing stuff worthwhile :)

AdmiralGeek 08-08-2007 03:13 PM

I was wondering if i could change the name "credits" to an alternative name where ever it will show up? Is this possible, or would it envolove to much editing?

txspaderz 08-08-2007 03:31 PM

Yes, search this thread for that information. It's been posted more than 5 times

chris1979 08-08-2007 03:31 PM

It's a phrase, so you can change it easily. I don't have credits on my site - I have magic beans. hahaha

chris1979 08-08-2007 03:33 PM

Is it possible for the transaction log to show how many points people have got for logging in and posting? At the moment (I think) it only shows credits people give them.

Darkwaltz4 08-08-2007 03:43 PM

not only has it been posted in the thread endlessly, its also in the instructions you were supposed to be following when you installed.

as for the transaction log, it doesnt display any awards given because 1) there are too many awards to keep track of every single one given every time 2) several times credits are given to multiple people at once 3) your server would hate you from the giant jump in queries 4) the database table for the transaction log would expand in size faster than the points table :-p not to mention you would quickly lose track of which transaction log was referring to..

i use the transaction log for displaying the credits lost / received directly because of another person. stuff that a user might get confused about where the giant leap or loss in their credits came from

i hope this clears things up.

testing is going well for 1.4, will be released very soon.
