Hello.

Thanks For The File, the Chat Shall Be Very Good.

The Unzipped File DON'T Contains the "config.php" file located at "/chat/inc/config.php".

It'll be important that you review the Download Zipped File and Include all the Necessary Files for the Add-on to work Ok!!

I had to Disable it because when trying to access the FlashChat Link an Error occurred that Avoided me the Access to the Forum, fortunately Not to the Admin Control Panel where I was able to Disable the Add-on and Restore the Forums Access again for the Users.

I'll be hoping that You Include the Complete Version of the Zipped File to Download It and Try It!!

Thank You Very Much!!

:)

daddygrim 03-19-2007 08:55 PM

works great!!!!

Umm, yes .... that's correct.

Since that is the Flashchat config file (obviously supplied with Flashchat .....).

I don't understand Paul M, how do I install the Downloaded File??

It only contains the following Files, and other Directories that I've already copied in the Root Directory of my Forums:

(root)\chat\inc\cmses\vbulletin36CMS.php
(root)\includes\xml\bitfield_flashchat

and

Flashchat-vb-integration.xml
that is the File I Upload with the [Add/Import Product] Hyperlink, located in the "Manage Products" Section of the Admin Control Panel!!

But when I did that it didn't work!!

What did I do wrong??

What should I do exactly to make it work??

How do I Download the other Files?? Where should I copy them?? (in what Directories)??

Please Orient Me!!

My Best Regards!! Thank You For All The Download Files, They've Been Very Helpful!!

:)

shepherdblake 03-20-2007 05:41 AM

If am am understanding the integration mod correctly, will everything that users "chat" about be redirected to a forum/thread? I have several threads that are pretty busy and it would be nice to use flash chat and have whatever is said in the chat to be automatically posted in those threads.

You must already have Flashchat installed, sounds to me like you don't.

You're right. I didn't notice that Flashchat was an Independent Software; I'll try to get a licence to try it and then try again the Add-On!!

Thank You for your Help!!

(Someone posted a question 645 today before your answer, perhaps you should check it on the Previous Page 43).

My Best Regards To You... And Again Thank You for the Add-Ons, they Work Great!!

Is it possible - well technically yes, I'm sure it would be possible. Is there any sort of mod that does this ? - no, none I know of (and I'm pretty well informed where Flashchat and vBulletin are concerned)..

Sorry, you seem to misunderstand - there is nothing in this that posts conversations to threads (see above answer as well).

Hello together,
we have the 123flashchat and the problem with the integration it always say this user doesnt exist and passwort wrong so we can't login the chat using the user data out of the forum (vbulletin) please help us. thank you very much

we are only using the integration modul from the 123flashchat, may be should use this hack here?

thank you very much

Paul M 03-21-2007 09:28 PM

This mod has nothing to do with 123flashchat, this is for Tufat Flashchat.

cerulean 03-21-2007 09:41 PM

Paul,

Is there a way I can have the Chat open say in the top 1/4 of the forum screen and the forums below it?

Paul M 03-21-2007 09:52 PM

Technically yes you could by using frames (similar to how this already does it) - but as soon as you clicked on any forum you would be logged out/in again by the screen refresh, so I'm not sure what you would gain.

cerulean 03-21-2007 10:09 PM

Ok, Well thanks for the info. It still is a great update.

Neo_obs 03-21-2007 11:40 PM

not sure if I should ask this here or tufat but any chance you can add spy support or is that not available for the CMS version of flashchat?

lamur 03-22-2007 12:34 AM

Hey Paul, can this mod be used with another chatting program besides flashchat?

Hehe.. Just kidding. Just some geek humor.

Hey I do have one question. It might just be a type of CSS error or something.
But when I go to the chat room via misc.php?do=flashchat

Everything seems to work great, BUT I do get that error at the bottom of the internet explorer that says:

Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.xxxxx.com/chat/flashchat.php

Chat seems to work good, but I don't know what's causing this error?

Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by "spy support" ?

That's a Javascript error, there is no JS in this mod so i don't know what would cause it.

daddygrim 03-25-2007 10:12 PM

how do u change the time? i need it to be -5

StyleLife 03-26-2007 07:43 AM

1st of all - what a kick a$$ mod - THANKS!

2ndly - I'd like to make the line "Members Currently Using Flashchat" to be a link that will take them to the flashchat room.

Any ideas PaulM about how to do this. I've "tinkered" for a while now, and searched forums like this for at least TWICE as long trying to find the answer myself before I asked - but alas, I request your assistance (or anyone else who can shed some light on this)

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

The instructions are a tad vague for an extremely casual website mistress like myself. Where exactly do I upload the "chat and includes" folders to? I have a somewhat unusual installation. My web root is the directory for my forum, thus you get to my vBulletin board by going to:

http://mysite.net

The chat folder that came with Flashchat was uploaded directly to this root, located at:

http://mysite.net/chat

Furthermore, the includes folder for my vBulletin installation is in that same directory:

http://mysite.net/includes

If I follow the instructions for flashchat integration and simply upload the folders named "chat" and "includes" that cam with this mod, I'm going to be overwriting a LOT of php scripts and other files installed by vBulletin and Flashchat that seem vitally important to the board.

Where, then, should these folders go in an installation like mine?

Paul M 04-02-2007 10:40 AM

You are making an incorrect assumption - you will not overwrite everything that is already in those existing folders, as the filenames are different - all that will get overwritten (correctly) is one file.

eclaire 04-02-2007 05:03 PM

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reply and explanation.

The old addage, "You learn something new everyday" certainly applies here, as does "better late than never"! I am a newcomer to dealing with my own website but certainly not a newcomer to computers, having built my own systems for 7 years, tweaked operating systems for high performance in video editing, successfully dealt with rather complext driver issues from the pre-windows 98 days, etc.

And through all of this, I completely believed that if I drug a folder called "X" into a directory where there is already a folder called "X", I would completely overwrite the destination folder "X" and all of its contents. I didn't realize until a few moments ago, when I tested this, that only the files in the destination folder that had the same names as those in the moved "X" folder would be overwritten.

Have I truly been under a rock on this issue for 10 years, or was there a prior version of windows that in fact did not selectively overwrite in this fashion? I understand if you don't feel like replying, I'm just curious at how I ever acquired the belief that things worked differently.

Paul M 04-02-2007 05:54 PM

It has been the case on windows for as long as I've been using it (since 1994) - and was also the case on my older RISC OS.

How can I get rid of all the rooms and just have one main room? Where do I find that?

Chris

V8Owner 04-03-2007 04:24 AM

I Have a small problem. I purchased & installed flashchat, Then used Paul M's integration mod & it works perfectly. Thanks Paul :)

Today i purchased the Desktop Skin (formerly Amfichat) & installed it. It also runs perfectly. outside of vbulletin.

My problem is the "Flashchat" link in the navbar still points to the the original flashchat. How do i change this to the amfichat?

Many thanks :)

Go to,

yourdomain.com/forums/chat/admin/

Here you can select "rooms" and edit/delete them.

I have installed vbShout 2.0 on the main page of my forum and it works fine. I'm planning to install Flashchat in the same forum but in different page or subforum. Is this possible, having 2 shoutbox in one forum? Appreciate your feedback and guide.

VB Version : 3.6.5

When I try to add/import the Flashchat-vb-integration.xml through the Manage Products of the ACP, I get this:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class vb_bitfield_builder in (actual site omitted)/forums/includes/class_bitfield_builder.php on line 21

What do I do to make it so that it can? Thanks,

StyleLife 04-04-2007 06:21 AM

Any Ideas Guys?

Your Input and Time - in addition to your experience would be greatly appreciated !

Will this or does anyone know if you can have the chat window start in a new window instead of starting within vB page?

honestdave 04-05-2007 02:47 AM

after using flashchat the site starts to not load up some of the images on the page...then a refresh or two later and all it will say is "page not found"

quite frustrating.

usually restarting the browser helps. but sometimes it has to be restarted 2x or more.

any ideas.

No idea, as the description says, I am not Flashchat support.

HydraulicJack 04-05-2007 08:28 PM

Does this plug-in provide the option of generating a transcript of the chat?

Paul M 04-06-2007 10:01 AM

No.

HTML Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a target="_blank" href="misc.php?do=flashchat$session[sessionurl_q]">Chat</a></td>
The "_blank" does the trick for me.
