I think I figured out the problem. Usergroup permissions must be set. It would help to have a decent installation readme, so you know.

Usergroup permissions have to be set for most hacks. It's so obvious that I didn't put it in the readme.

where do i find the cron Manager in v3.6.1? had a good look but do not see it in Admin CP

Same place as 3.0.x and 3.5.x. It's called Scheduled Tasks.

A month almost since the last post but I managed to find and install this and give it 2 thumbs up, A++, 3 cheers whatever good thing I could say I like this add on.

That's a problem with the e-mail provider of that friend.

I'm testing this as admin on the board 3.5.5.

After I type all info for the new invite and click "Send Invite" I can see that it goes to a pending state at the bottom. At the top it has this message "1 Invite(s) Were Sent Out Successfully To The Following People:" but the mail never gets received and the status stays on pending.

I send mails from the board so there should be no reason the mail function shouldn't work. I re-imported the hack. I double checked the template modifications and all according to the "readme".

What is confusing, I turned of "register on invite only" as I want any visitor to be able to register. In the setup (AdminCP) of the invite system it has this comment "The cron that gives out new invites will not run either" if set to no". This couldn't be the reason could it?

The status will stay pending until the person acepts it.
The fact that mail is not delievered could be caused by one of the following:
- The source and destination emails are the same (e.g you send it to webmaster@yoursite.com while your site send emails from that address also.)
- The receiver mailbox puts emails from your domain into junk box
- The message gets marked as spam by an anti spam program

Its the same problemes som powerbook have.. I just use Bulletin Version 3.6.2

The only thing it can be is:

I created a second e-mail account for myself and it still doesn't send although it says it did.

EDIT: Something must be wrong in my reputations. I changed the setting to -1 instead of 10 and now it works

AFAIK, only logged-in members who have actual Invites in their UserCP will see the Invites link.

That setting should be set to something more than 0. And you need to install the product XML.

3.6.4 - not getting the link to add invites in the UserCP if the option for Allowed Usergroups has Administrator in it. Set Allowed Usergroups blank and it allows access to the page

To test the User CP settings, if I enable invite override and set the value to 10 or 10000 the CP displays the correct number.

Just seems to be some issue with putting in an entry in the Allowed Usergroups value. In fact, any value, wether it is a valid group name or not, causes the option to invite to be unallowed.

This hack's free edition has not been ported to 3.6 yet.
