Fixed, the phrase I used apparently doesn't exist on vB3.8, and somehow this slipped through my testing :(

To fix, re-download, re-upload all files and re-import the XML file.

Ok Ive installed this and it shows fine on the forumhome- but I want it on a vbadvanced cmps module ... though Im having trouble finding the template variable to help me do this?

I must be looking in the wrong place cause I cant find much in admin help on this.

though im not having much success getting this to work in a template driven module like I had with the infernoshout one previously.

added to a template that feeds a module on our homepage is all I needed to add to get this to work.

though doing the same with {$vbshout} as the template contents just does nothing ?

ive added index,adv_index into the relevant manual display shoutbox in instances...

And you added the template name you created to the relevant setting also?
For some reason vBACMPS documentation said "if you created template adv_shoutbox you should put shoutbox in the template name" or something to that effect, which in my experience is incorrect - you'll need to put the full template name in there.

That being said, I don't believe I know of anyone who actually runs vB3.8 with vBA and vBS on it, so it may not work at all...
You could try asking at the vBACMPS forums, if this doesn't work?

I wouldn't know how to make it work without them telling me what I'd need to do to support it either, and I sadly don't have the time to research it myself :(

I'm getting a lot of issues with it not displaying for some people. Obviously, the first place I went to was the UserGroup perms but that didn't appear to be it.

It didn't display at all with a user who was on Opera but when he switched to FF it worked just fine. Alternatively, I have a user on FF, in the same usergroup, and he can't see the shoutbox at all.

Any ideas?

Can't say that's making any sense to me I'm afraid... We haven't tested it in Opera but I see no reason why it should not work in one browser or the another.

How many users on your forum is experiencing this problem?
Could it be he was using different skins across the two browsers?

It's a small forum so my sample size is small but other than myself only two other people have been able to see it so far. All in FF.

I have two people who can't see it. They also use FF.

Myself excluded, all users have identical usergroup memberships and permissions.

There is only one skin for the website. I don't allow users to change the skin.
