If it isn't evident for you, read the thread. if you still don't understand, see this: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...oogle+sitemaps If you still don't understand what it does, don't install it. |
This add-on has really improved the traffic on my sites.
I'm now recommending it to all of my clients. :) |
its realy good one i can see changes
thanks for this amazing addon |
On my system the "sitemap_index.xml.gz" file never gets written. Neither where it is supposed to be or anywhere else.
I have gotten the Sitemap Generator to run, meaning that it shows the output on the screen as having been run. The scheduled task is also correctly running and has been for several days. Has anyone run it with the "vBSEO Installed?" option set to 'NO'? This is how I am running it for now since I have not installed vBSEO. My sitemap file is not in any of the locations it might be in: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums...p_index.xml.gz http://forums.audioholics.com/forums...p_index.xml.gz http://forums.audioholics.com/forums...p_index.xml.gz Any ideas? It seems to be running and I can access my vBSEO Google / Yahoo Sitemap for vBulletin page, but no sitemap is ever generated. |

Yep. I'm running it without vBSEO installed. There's no chance I will ever have vBSEO installed. Some things to check: 1. Have you checked the write permissions on those directories? Is your server running in safe mode? 2. Do you have anything in the box next to Sitemap Files URL? 3. Does your host support gzip? 4. Have you added the lines to the .htaccess file in your forum root (it should be at http://forums.audioholics.com/ - why do you have both a subdomain and a subdirectory for your forum, by the way?). |
Thanks for your help and feedback. It's appreciated.
1. Yes, permissions are correct and I am not getting any (visible) errors. Server is not running in safe mode. 2. Nothing at all. 3. Yes it does. 4. I uploaded the .htaccess file that came with the mod: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L] The subdirectory shouldn't (specifically) be causing any problems and is there due to the fact that the forums once existed on the same server as the main site and was later split off. I'm honestly at a loss... |
If you check those locations via FTP, do you see anything at all?
