But it'll always turn up in searches, and hopefully anyone with some common sense looking to hire will do just that.

Amazing, someone showing some common sense that would ensure some kind of protection against members who haven't got access to the knowledge of the known rippers that prowl on people who work hard for their money.

I had suggested a sticky list of proven rippers so members know what people not to hire.

Your right, they don't care but they like to reap the benfits in having a paid area.

So you consider having to deal with the the amount of crap that forum generates a benefit?!? Come now, it ain't like Jelsoft is taking 10% off every deal made via that forum.

First time the staff here does something about this (banning a user, listing him as bad) that customer is just going to complain to jelsoft about it and will probably be un-banned/un-listed/whatever. On the very slim chance that he isn't...well then you'll have a whole staff team spending all their time reviewing reported users and attempting to prove/dis-prove the claims made by people that got ripped off.

Point is it ain't worth the effort, there is a reason why it's ignored so buyer beware. If you can't deal with that (and yes it's listed right at the top of the service request forum) then don't use the forum, period.

(address edited as Ace got the information)

thanks.

agreed with what you said brad but i will say that leave it for the coders and buyers to decide. Eg this thread i have presented my side and to some extent tim has also. People ofcourse can search and they will find this thread and let them decide whom they wanna trust with their money. End of the day if you allow neither some feedback and nor threads or discussion(latter is not the case thankfully) you are creating a big problem

Edit: Thanks ElricStorm

I have to agree with Ace. However, what Tim may not realize is that any crime committed in the U.S. for $300.00 or more is considered a felony. He can be prosecuted and even sued for larger than stated damages.

All Ace needs to do is file a suit against Tim, who is located in High Ridge, MO, accusing him of deception, fraud, and unfair trade practices. Then, provide them with the saved information and they will issue an arrest warrant and serve him with it. It's really as simple as that.

Is it possible he is telling the truth about getting in that trouble? I don't know, robbery, check fraud, jail, battery, all that stuff sounds pretty tough to happen in the span of a week...

In any case, thank you ace for the heads up. I almost spent 500 dollars on a skin the other day, and I found it for free on another website. SO yes, be careful with money, do your research :p.

Maybe just have a service requests discussion forum... at least organize these threads so they can be easy to find.

I would without a doubt never work with Extreme Tim ever. Not only has he duped me also. He has also sent me porno emails. I reported him to the staff on this site. Seeing he got my email from this site. Seems like he is still around.

MRGTB 12-22-2006 05:52 PM

Off course he's still around, and he will continue to take money of people who don't read this thread and are daft enough to use him. The problem is this, it's OK talking about legal threats and were you stand and what you can do. But at the end of the day, how many people are willing to take things further down the legal ladder and pay a solicitor. Nobody ever does, there just idol threats and he knows it. Which is why he will continue to rip people off when and were he can.

I read Brads post, what interested me the most is this. I know what Brad is talking about when he says vBulletin will get involved and ask them to un-ban him. The reason being these coders are vBulletin license owners and as such they want access to vB.org as part of there license. If they get banned, there just going to go running over to vBulletin asking for a license refund and complain. That I understand!

But in that case the whole thing should not be hosted here then if Brad feels that would happen. That means vB.org feel obliged to ban nobody who owns a license no matter who they rip off. Which puts them in a real sticky situation in that case morally. So it's ok saying a coder did this and that, but words mean nothing. Hard evidence does and without it to warrant a vbulletin license being banned, vB.org hands are tied really. As they have nothing proof wise to approach vBulletin with and say "here is the evidence, we want to ban him from our site for using his vB license in getting full access here to rip people off".

in all fairness u are right - but also to be fair to people who get ripped off - why wont they add a rating hacks then so we can freely leave notes about anyone (whether good or bad). Its as if they just ignoring these threads.
Feedback is the best way to go and if people could leave feedback regarding any member then posts like these would become a thing of the past.

Its the not knowing what going on that annoys me - the brush it under the carpet syndrome.
