Ciao Giovanni!

I'm currently running version 2.2.6. Can I safely upgrade without losing my customer's banners?
Is there anything special I need to know to perform a safe upgrade?

Thanks!!

Has anybody tried the new "Send Mail Before" option? I've tried various different number of days, run the cron manually but I don't get any results? Has anyone tested it on vb 3.8? Thanks.

You should be able to do so ... however, you may make a backup/copy of the tables beginning with rbs_ or all your forum database (which is always a good idea anyways).

Do you have email addresses in the banners and do they have still to be sent? Mailing works just only once for each banner unless you reset the mailing state with the option at the bottom.

Images have no width and height values. If you need them anyway, you may use the flash wrapper, which also loads standard images.

thanks :)

Click tracking does not work with scripts unless they are specifically crafted. The help file and the option itself says:

Click Tracking: If this option is enabled, a script counts the number of clicks on standard images. This option has no effect on scripts.

Can you point me in the right direction to make a copy of my rbs_ tables before I upgrade to the new version of your software? I'm sorry, but this is not something I'm familiar with doing :(

You better get used to making regular db backups. I use a script that saves mine daily and another script to download it to my local hard drive. Monthly I do complete site backups using cpanel and download those locally also.

Realistically, you aren't going to want to restore old tables after an upgrade, which is the harder part compared to backing them up.

Thanks Videx. I have an automated script running on my server that makes daily database backups for me. My hosting company help me set it up. So far I've not had a failure so I've never needed to do a restore. So I assume those tables are in my backup. I thought maybe it'd be easier to back up just the banner tables in case something goes wrong with my upgrade. Sadly, I have little knowledge of database related things. :(
