Look for {vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_above_forums}

Move it up about 6 lines so that it is above <vb:if condition="$show['sidebar']">

Hope that is what you were looking for.

Thanks a lot, works perfectly!

I too have the issue with the slap and me commands. Firefox reports no error from what I saw and I found it interesting that once I entered enough chats to take the /me command I had typed off of the screen, Explorer allowed me to continue however, never showed the actual /me text. (It actually submitted the /me text but never did display it - not even in the archive where Firefox was complete) Hows that for an oddity?

Hum so that's only when you enter the slap and me on IE. Very odd as it works well for me :confused: So if you don't see it in the archives, that mean it doesn't get submitted right ?

I'll post the question regarding the alt1/alt2 issue on the arcade support area but which StyleVar should I look at to change the time within the chats appearance? (if thats actually where I should be looking)

I don't think it's in the stylevar, it's certainly in the arcade mod additionnal css.

What really baked my cookies was that if I opened Firefox, and removed the /me chat, I could refresh Explorer and all was well. Firefox showed the /me text perfectly in the chat window and in the Archive so it did get submitted ~ Explorer simply stalled on submission (Little animated circle did it's thing forever and other users were unable to chat (I asked, they too were on Explorer). Explorer would also return to a functional state if I disable the /me command.

Nice huh? :)

You nailed it there! I opened ARCADE.CSS and as you probably expected, ALT1/ALT2 were in use. I removed both references and I can at least see the times and such now as they were black on my present black background.. .

(Now tempted to delete the entirety of ARCADE.CSS to see if some other illnesses go away...)
As usual, thanks!

I want to ban a specific usergroup from using BBCode, but when I mark "no" on "Can us the BBCODE (if active)", it has no effect. Is there another option that I have to mark, or is the "if active" qualifier a specific condition that I haven't met? BBCode is enabled for the chatbox and for the Registered Users group.

is this specific group the primary user's group? If not I think the primary's permissions would overwrite the secondary.

i.e. If person A belonged to Registered as primary and NoBBCode for secondary, because the registered users group can use bbcode it ignores that of the secondary... now if you set NoBBCode as the primary group it should prevent them from using it.

Least I think thats the way it all works :)

Yeah, it's their primary and only usergroup.

TeknoSounds 06-09-2010 03:36 AM

If you want a group not to be able to post bbcode, go into the usergroup settings for that group and turn off bbcode under the chatbox settings.

Each usergroup has specific control over functions within the chatbox.

That's exactly the problem, I check "no" on "allow BBCode" for the usergroup and they can still use BBCode.

Did you removed all the files and reuploaded them or not? The file system of this chatbox version 3 has changed.

Hmm haven't played with the setting myself, just saw it was there, could be a bug in the code :-/

Hi,

What is the error you get? And did you set permissions if you mean you cant see the channel?

Zombo 06-09-2010 01:36 PM

hi I ave a strange problem:

When autocompletion is disabled, I cannot see tabs, even if tabs is enabled.

As soon as I turn on autocompletion, tabs appear.

I did a test and I have the same problem.

Think it's a bug.

Ok I mark this is in the bug list and will check it out.
Was this with any /me text or was there a specific text ?

Seems any text is accepted but not able to display with the other chats in IE. I typed test, 'test' with single quotes and "test" with double quotes just to try to figure out anything to make it work but once sent, the chat window in IE would freeze with only the refresh spinning icon continually spinning. Other users were obviously unable to chat until I deleted the chat with /me in it. Firefox displayed each with no problems.

Hope that helps and again, thank you.

A node doesn't exist. FireFox is more forgiving when it comes to coding errors. The fix I've incorporated is as follows catching any error that may happen.

This fixes the /me and /slap and possibly any other display issues of special commands in IE.

Code:

mgc_cb_evo_functions.js

 try {
                /* Creation of the username column */
                nchattd        = document.createElement('td');
                nchattd.setAttribute('width','0');
                nchattd.setAttribute('align',mgc_cb_evo_left);
                nchattd.setAttribute('valign',mgc_cb_evo_chat_valign);
                nchattd.setAttribute('noWrap','nowrap');
                nchattd.style.whiteSpace = 'nowrap';
                nchattd.innerHTML = xmlnode.getElementsByTagName('col_uname')[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
                nchatrow.appendChild(nchattd);
 } catch(e) {
                /* Creation of the username column for IE */
                nchattd        = document.createElement('td');
                nchattd.setAttribute('width','0');
                nchattd.setAttribute('align',mgc_cb_evo_left);
                nchattd.setAttribute('valign',mgc_cb_evo_chat_valign);
                nchattd.setAttribute('noWrap','nowrap');
                nchattd.style.whiteSpace = 'nowrap';
                nchatrow.appendChild(nchattd);
}

:)... and verified as working.

(THANKS!)

I commented out lines 2104 through 2112 and inserted your code and Voila!, its working for both /me and /slaps...

Awesome

VBDev 06-12-2010 08:09 PM

Holy crap !! that's true why didn't I think about that earlier, those chats don't have a col for username :)

Well spotted thanks will incorporate the fix in this way or another ;)

TeknoSounds 06-12-2010 08:55 PM

had a user report an issue on IE8 where he doesn't see the dropdown menu icon to the left of the username. Could this be related to the fix posted?

Bundle 06-13-2010 09:08 PM

Just thought I'd mention here - don't know if it has been before and I'm not reading through 100+ pages! :D - be careful when uninstalling this. I uninstalled it via the products section of admin CP (vb 4.0.3) and my forum started throwing a few database errors at me. Thankfully not in the user areas, just in admin CP. Mostly relating to trying to edit / make new usergroups... it seems to think that the MGC permissions should still be there, and gets confused when it can't find them. Had to import the product again to solve it and just leave it turned off... as yet haven't found a way to fully remove it without database errors.

Hi,

There is a readme file that came with this product. It explains how to install it, but also how to uninstall it. Follow the instructions and you should be fine.

ti07shadow 06-14-2010 04:12 PM

for some reason many of my users claim to not be able to see the chats, some can see some of the chats but not all of them, and some can see all of the posts, I can see all the posst on my PC but when I sign into my laptop I can only see one of the many posts in the chatbox...

Well not sure because that fixes the issue with chatbox not refreshing when /me or /slap chats are present in the chatbox.

Which browser are you using ? Do you have /me or /slap chats ?

ti07shadow 06-15-2010 06:40 PM

Ive tried pretty much any browser. Fire Fox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Safari.

I works perfectly my PC and my fathers on all these browsers but the chatbox doesnt work on the laptop, and a few people registered on my site.

yes /slap and /me are on and they work to..

LIKE I SAID. the whole thing works perfectly for me on my PC and my fathers. just no on the laptop or a few others on my forums.. the shouts just dont load it says loading the entire time and the little loading symbbol is just refreshing away. some people can see some of the chats just not all of them

for example, 1 user can see all of certain users posts but not mine nor anyone elses just can only see that one others posts.

How do you unban a user after banning them from chat system?

Swordman844555 06-16-2010 03:17 PM

users get the following error message in the archive

Quote:

Warnung: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in [path]/mgc_cb_evo.php (Zeile 358)
Line 358 there stands the following

Quote:

if (in_array($ugpid,$channel['usergroupids']))

ti07shadow 06-16-2010 07:04 PM

lets see

+. Multiple Users unable to see all chats
+. Users get the following error

If you ban someone using the /ban syntax without setting a day amount, I believe its just a cron job so it will unban them automatically after a certain time. If you ban them for a certain amount of days, just use /ban show
