Anyone has a suggestion about some utf-8 problems I have after changing from iso8859 ?

In many differente instances I get the question mark symbol in every entry and strange thing is that if I disable the LDM "allow bbcode" option, I can see all the characters right (but without bbcode)

Thanks

Hi,

I have the following problem: Whenever I want to create a new category I get an error:
Code:

Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/local_links_misc.php (line 74)
The weird thing is, that the category is created sucessfully nevertheless. The User-Rights are correctly set as far as I can see. Does anybody have an idea, where this error-message comes from?

If you havn't made significant changes to your includes/local_links_misc.php file, then try deleting that from your server and uploading a default one from your installation package (or undo any recent changes you've made to that file). The error message you've shown is indicating an error in that file.

I did not change anything - the file is still the original version. Also the upload was correct, I checked it twice. The error must be somewhere else. Does anybody have a suggestion or hint?

What is with AndrewD ? ... sick ?

civil78 11-21-2008 10:33 AM

Yeah, I am wondering too if AndrewD is ok. I send him a lot of messages to see if he is ok but he doesn’t answer. He doesn’t login in forum from 4/11. I hope that nothing happens to him and his ok.

I have some LDM pages which have no restrictions to guests, and human guests are able to access them correctly. However I have noticed in the 'Who's Online' display that yahoo / google crawlers are being shown an error message, which is shown by an exclamation mark in the 'Who's Online' display (when placing cursor over this it says the googlebot is 'Viewing Error Message'). I think this means the google crawler is being denied access to those pages despite guests having permission to access them. I have no restrictions set in my 'robots.txt' file, ie. all crawlers/ bots are allowed.

Any idea why this could be occuring?

I didn't implement a mechanism to 'autodelete' the expired files, but it is straightforward (I think) to provide a 'plug in' which will delete, e.g., all the expired entries in a given category. I will give this some thought and report back.

Did you give this any thought? This would be really useful for me. Also, does your code support download resumes? And lastly, can I import from DownloadsII into your mod?

Thanks!

I think this mod is good enough to be sold to vBulletin / vBadvanced, they should make Andrew a good deal and then support the product themselves. Andrew has been doing a phenomenal job on his own but it would be easier on him if there was a team working on it rather than on his own.

Thanks Andrew, Upgraded and is now installed on vb 3.8.0 beta 3 ;)
