My templates are up to date and the only ones I have modified are postbits.

I've found the plugin in VBAdvanced 4.0.0 that causes the issue by adding too much space beneath the chatbox if placed in the forum beneath the Navbits: Integration Output global_complete
Now to work out why?

Is it $mgc_cb_evo_var ?

Halfhidden 05-25-2010 08:32 PM

the VB3 variable is: $mgc_cb_evo_var

Humm, can you do a search on js files in clientscript ? For the vbulletin_version keyword.

Yep refresh time. But normally when you chat they then get refreshed.

Well as I already said, no vB4 CMS widget for now so can't help ;)

Well it's both vB3 and vB4 thread as there is no more vB3 thread ;)

And yes you are right for the vB3 var.

Jeweetog 05-25-2010 09:26 PM

VBDev, you should make a topic on your forum and sticky it with a FAQ list and put the link at top of the MOD post.

Or you're gonna get crazy :o

Unless this tag is added in another way than being in the tag list array which wouldn't be such a clean way.

Well, I just added it as an embedded html code via custom BB codes. I am quite sure it works, but it doesn't appear anywhere as an option.

Really, we don't have a problem with the Youtube tags, it's the insipid autoplay option that's terrorizing users. In forums, I just replace the string "autoplay" with "xxxxxxxx" or something and that stops it from happening. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a built-in wordfilter here (and if there is, I can't find it).

So you think Changing 30sec to 10sec can improve its speed?

vilhiem 05-25-2010 11:15 PM

Thanks for your reply regarding the FlashWindow function. But if that doesn't work, is there any way the app could somehow "visually alert" a user if the page is minimized (that's why I was thinking something with the taskbar) ...?

Thanks!!!

lubbie 05-25-2010 11:17 PM

Very nice chatbox. Maybe that question is already answered, i would like to display the chatwindow underneath the navbar (forum, forum home - CMS is already under navbar), if possible. I was trying to go through this thread but 428 sides are quit a lot and also the inline search wasnt a success.

Custom bbcode shouldn't be parsed, I have a closed bbcode list different from the whole forum.

Depends of what is really the speed problem you are encountering.

If this is the refresh when you are not talking but just looking at the chatbox, then yes it will.

Not that I know, perhaps you could do a little search and if you find something I'd agree to have a look to implement it ;) This must be javascript !

To do it on forumhome, you have to modify the plugins.
Anyway there is no how to about that in the readme, I'll have to include it back for vB4 in the next release.

TeknoSounds 05-26-2010 06:16 AM

Much much <3 for this mod.
BTW radali created a vbA module here:
http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40476

I have a request! If it could pull whenever a shoutcast server song changes that would be awesome :) Currently using the plugin Shoutcast Status which writes to an xml file that should be readable :D

All the custom BBCode we've added (Youtube, strikethrough, spoiler tags, etc) works in the chatbox. What Cyb does, and I think this is a good system, is allow all custom BBCode by default and:

Also, have you ever given any thought to adding a wordfilter function?

What pop up window? You can show the smileys by pressing the smiley button which is an image near your input editor.

Quirin 05-26-2010 08:50 AM

Yes that's clear. If I will click on the smiley button displayed there 10 of my smilies and next to it is [More] when I click it opens a popup where the rest of my smilies will be shown this, however, can not integrate into the editor, if I have a Smilie them click it.

Well, the mod you pointed out gets lots of infos, not only the song played. And it gets updated as soon as one of those parameters gets updated not when the song changes.

Well by default I prefer having most of the bbcode not active otherwise it would be a pain to add each unwanted ones.

The chatbox uses vB's censoring one.

Right, however instead of pulling directly from the file you could just pull the variable from that mod for the song name? He has all the variables used listed out there :)

Or perhaps how easy would it be for him to modify his mod to make the entry to your mod? Just trying to figure out the easiest way :)

I see, well it worked for me. i got vb 3.8.4 pl 2

What is your version?

TeknoSounds 05-26-2010 11:52 AM

smilies work for me as well, even in my vbA cmps. Running vb4.0

jbd 05-26-2010 01:33 PM

Installed this, but it seems to sporadically stop working in IE. It's fine in Firefox. Even if I don't upload any further plugins or change any other files at all, after a day or so it causes "object expected" errors in IE7 and the chatbox just hangs.

Strangely enough, when this happens it displays some messages from 20 mins ago, but not the more recent messages.

I've managed to fix this twice before by reuploading all the files, which is even stranger (not even reinstalling the product).

It's still working fine in Firefox for me, but this time I've been unable to fix the IE issue by reuploading the files. I'm now looking at possibly installing the VSA Chatbox, not sure how that compares to this.

FYI I am using vbSEO. I tried adding the vbSEO custom arguments provided here but that didn't help at all. I guess those are only if you want vbSEO to optimise the chat pages anyway, which I'm not too bothered about.

tafreeh 05-26-2010 03:25 PM

Admins should be able to take a joke from their members, since the slapping is just meant as a joke :D

To do a FlashWindow in Java, here's what I found:

From:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4...sers-attention

There are two common ways to do this: use JNI to set urgency hints on the taskbar's window, and create a notification icon/message. I prefer the second way, since it's cross-platform and less annoying.

See documentation on the TrayIcon class, particularly the displayMessage() method.

And:
http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/ap.../TrayIcon.html

And here it is in JavaScript ... scroll down to solutions:

Well the vBSEO custom arguments have nothing to do with eventual lagging issues.

You don't have more informations on the error in IE ? Do you see an error in the firefox javascript console ?

Well, if you are in such a good mood.

I'd like to have a cron job that automatically saves the chats ever X hours and put them in an xml file somewhere in a folder of my webspace, and clears the chatbox.

And a maximum chars allowed to type in the input field.

I have problem on ie too and don't have any error on firefox.

But i found what is causing some problem for me.

When i activate the /me command or the /slap and that someone use it on the chat, the chat stop functionning on ie.

The /me or /slap don't show on ie and the chat loaging forever without showing the text that follow.

If i delete the /me command or the /slap for the chat, the chat start to function again on ie.

No problem with firefox and i have firebug installed, he don't show anything so this is clearly ie that is in fault.

You have an option to disable the chatbox in certain style :) (IT's impossible to autoguess that a style is a mobile one, there is no option or so defining that).
