Okay so I uninstalled then reinstalled then uninstalled then reinstalled. The problem still happens. It goes away when I uninstall, but I actually want this chatbox.

Your error is very strange. If you import correctly the product, a field shall be created in the usergroup table, don't you see it ?

I was being calm. ;) I was simply stating you need to be more detailed. That is it. By doing what I said, it resolved the partial issue, but now you still have what seems to be a bitfield issue?

I know that by accident when I already had the old MGC Chat, I installed the Evo chat and I had both the old and EVO chat permissions in the usergroup.

My first suggestion. Take a full dB backup. You can't go wrong doing this. If it goes away when you uninstall, then possibly you are installing wrong? Have a corrupt zip with the files... I would d/l the old chat, and new chat. Extract the files. Make sure it's uninstalled from the forum, then go in via FTP, and double check that all the extracted files in the dirs locally are removed from the server remotely. Do a backup again. Optimize the dB, check for any errors in MySQL. Rebuild all the templates etc and then download the addon again and reinstall. This time when you install the plugin, select overwrite as well when you import it.

Ack. Thats good to know. I remove anything that's not the same version or previous version when it comes to hacks. Ie if 3.7 is out, I won't use anything below 3.6.x. Most old hacks will cause a headache on the new versions which you proved again. Glad it's working now.

argh, I can't rebuild templates because I have modified ones. Maybe that's what's causing the problem.

Anyone know? It's mega inconvenient to update because I've modified them greatly. My unupdated ones are:

Your templates should not affect this at all. When I said rebuild I meant exactly:

Admin CP > Maintenance > Update Counters > <==== Run those... I forget how you rebuild the bitfields. I'm pretty sure when you delete files and goto usergroups it does it automatically.
