I checked your page:

You will not see any pictures, as in some threads there aren't any pictures in the first post or it was an linked picture.

This hack works with the attachment-system. So be sure, to have at least ONE attachment in the first post.

Oh, btw., it seems you where using an older version of this hack. Wouldn't it be better to update to the latest version.

vsd 12-30-2005 11:13 PM

Well, It was downloaded about three weeks ago from this site, has it been updated since then??

Where is the new version at??

I also noticed the help page in the download has a broken graphic.

Thanks

David

İ got this error where do i make mistake ?

I have the same problem. I tried uninstalling it and got that error. When I re-add the query, I get "This Page Can Not Be Displayed". When I drop the gallery column, I get the error again. In phpmyadmin, after adding the query, I get:
" : Missing parameter: db (FAQ 2.8)
: Missing parameter: table (FAQ 2.8)"

So what's going on?

lifesourcerec 12-31-2005 09:35 AM

Anyway to manually install/uninstall this as I am now unable to get into admincp or forum (anything in /forum directory gives a "This page cannot be displayed" error

Harald_T 12-31-2005 10:22 AM

@lifesourcerec:

The first sql-error was, because of the query hadn't run or you had run the uninstall-query. If you uninstall, you also have to uninstall the plugin, of course. It would be better to first uninstall the product and then run the uninstall-query.

And please: Always make an bakeup for sure before altering your database.

Can't even get into admincp now to uninstall anything. Just get a "This page cannot be displayed" after putting my login info into admincp.

The database is fine, it's the plugins/product I need to remove, but can't get into admincp to do it.

Where is the Unistall Query??

lifesourcerec 01-01-2006 12:46 AM

I got it uninstalled using the unplug method, but I don't think this script likes v3.5.2. I re-installed it 3 times and it had the same result.

vsd 01-01-2006 02:30 AM

Harold, you had mentioned a most recent version, where can I get it?

Also, when I went to create an "Announcement" about how the gallery works for the image gallery, it does not show up. Is this normal or part of the most recent update.

Also, when I try and change the thumbnail size in the vBulletin Options>Message Attachment Options>currently I have it set to 150 and I also went and rebuilt the attachment thumbnails they still appear at 125.

Is there another spot to change that or is it because of the version I am running.

Thanks

David

Harald I finally found the error it was an additional <if> which was bothering the correct displaying. It's all clear thanks for your nice job and have a nice and prosperous 2006.

hello vsd

what kind of modification have you done?

I followed the code to the "T" except the sub-forum part in setting it up in the instructions. Everytime I made a sub-forum I got broken images.

I set a hidden forum called Gallery to "0" as stated then a I created a brand new section on the main board called "Vintage Image Gallery" and Set the option 'Use as gallery' to 'yes' and rows to 4. Then it worked fine.

My members have already started using it and it has been a success.

Forum Home Page

So techinically I did nothing, or I was just not understanding his directions from the beginning with sub-forums etc...

what r the settings for the thumbnails? how can i get em to 80 x 100 ?

Harald_T 01-06-2006 03:26 PM

The thumbnails are set by your VB-System.

Gripemaster 01-08-2006 01:57 AM

OK.. I have it PARTIALLY working, but the images are not appearing on the home page, and how do I change the language back to English?

UPDATE:
This has been by far the most confusing hack I have tried to install. However, after some diligence and alot of trial and error, I have it working properly on my "Testing Forum", with the exception of the language issue. How do I change the language to English?

Once I get the language issue resloved, I will install it on my regular forum for my members, and I will then click "Installed". ;)

Harald_T 01-08-2006 08:51 AM

You have to change the language in your phrase-system. Look for phrases starting with "gal_".

I know that this has to be changed and it will be in the next version. I hope i can release it in the next two weeks.

tuanluu 01-08-2006 09:06 AM

thanks I will wait until next version release then update my vb :)

Elly 01-08-2006 09:12 AM

Hello wonderfull hack it all went in well on the first try :thumb: My only problem with it is that my templates are in German :( Is there anyway to have them set into english? http://www.ultimaforce.net/forum2/showthread.php?t=4

Harald_T 01-08-2006 09:25 AM

As i said two posts before, you have to change the phrases.

Elly 01-08-2006 09:33 AM

So sorry I missed that one T.T Thank you I'll look for that Again thanks for the wonderfull hack

Brandon Sheley 01-09-2006 03:11 AM

how can I make this not change image size ?

Its trying to make images " fit the screen"

here is an example of what my forum made the image

http://locoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616

this is how big it should be

*edit, this wasn't an issue when I had the older version of this mod :ermm:

Harald_T 01-09-2006 07:53 PM

This is a bug, i made by mistake. Look into the template gallery_attachment, in the IMG-Tag you find a width-tag. Remove and it should work fine.

cn_de 01-10-2006 09:24 AM

wie kann ich dann die alten Templates löschen?

Harald_T 01-10-2006 03:41 PM

Template anwählen und Wiederherstellen drücken.

ALTER TABLE `forum` ADD `gallery` TINYINT( 4 ) NOT NULL

shiva 01-14-2006 12:24 AM

Wow, looked good, so added it, but now...

First off, I'm hoping a uninstaller is available soon. It looks good, but is way to limited, and it looks for all attachments, not just image files, which kind of messes up things.

As to display, nice, but for some strange reason, I get a ugly black background, that hides the links on forum home, so I had to remove the code.

I think the images should be displayed in the main gallery page "spread out" from each other, as opposed to being bunched up in the middle.

Better instructions would be appreicated as well. 40 pages to go through...

There's another gallery type script called Attachment Browser, which has some very cool ideas and effects, and I think would be a quite useful for this system, the features of that while having the seperate category features and features of this. It will also display/search/sort with any file type as well as handle mulitple attachments. Maybe the author can check it out?

LBSources 01-14-2006 02:20 AM

Harald.. any luck with the other file types?

Masiello 01-14-2006 06:37 AM

Nice Hack, it works fine with vbulletin 3.5.3 without problem?

DrewM 01-14-2006 11:23 AM

like I said in a erly post you can make it not display all attachments by editing the forumdisply_query and replace with the fowling code:

PHP Code:

 if ($foruminfo['gallery']=='1'

$gallery true

if (
$gallery==true

$hook_query_fields .= ", attachment.thumbnail_filesize AS thumbsize , MIN(attachment.attachmentid) AS attachmentid ";

$hook_query_joins .= "LEFT JOIN " TABLE_PREFIX "attachment as attachment ON(attachment.postid = thread.firstpostid) ";

$hook_query_where .= "GROUP BY thread.threadid ";

Harald_T 01-14-2006 11:33 AM

I've included the code for the next version. This will also be included int the query for the last_images and random_images.

Oh, i don't know when it will be released, atm.
