One simple question: exist sitemap generator for that URLs??????

There's an update over at my forums which is Beta 3, and it fixes a lot of bugs including the previous/next thread links.

And yes, I will probably be making a sitemap generator for my modification. Whether or not I release it in the final version or not, I have yet to decide, as it still needs a lot of work to get it working efficiently on very large boards.

x-land 01-14-2006 04:04 PM

Please help me with link where is Beta 3 (at first instalation I was redirect but now I can't find :) ).
With sitemap I resolve. I modify old my sitemap generator and work.
I hope in your final version find and sitemap generator :).
Anyway your modification is verry good.Thanks. (and sorry for my english ;) )

Worked like a charm. Any easy way to add in the rewrite for usernames as well?

I believe it un-necessary to rewrite usernames :)

Snake 01-14-2006 05:37 PM

Hahaha that was quite funny.

joeboo 01-14-2006 05:51 PM

Where is beta 3? I looked at Dean's forums and found nothing. Can I please get a link?

The only thing I would like to see fixed (if it hasn't been already) is when you set a forum to be a link to an external URL.

This would damage who uses already the actual version of DC SEO since after the updating this modification change all the url inside the users posts making them void.

You could include a rewrite to allow for those changes, but I agree, the constant changing around would get messy.

Please don't misinterpret me! I don't want to change everybody's current URL scheme, I want more options than the ones existing at this time.

Indeed, whilst I can see some justification in building an engine to manage the rewriting of URLs, and it wouldn't actually be that hard, the actual ability to give the users the ability to change their URL structure is risky. Changing URLs all the time will have severe negative effects on ranking. Also the only way to really handle the rewrite engine is to pass all HTTP_REQUEST's to a gateway script. That is not very efficient internally, and this is exactly what vBseo does.

hmm... not good for non-english boards I guess.

It depends, support has been added for some EU languages. The problem lies in converting the accented characters to their english equivalents. I can confirm it works for german and french, but not slovakian.

Masiello 01-16-2006 07:01 AM

I confirm it works fine on Italian board too.

Dean C 01-17-2006 03:03 PM

You don't need the PHP URL, paste the DC SEO one and it'll work ;)

You didn't upload all the files it said to in the readme.txt file.

Hello :) I have a simple question, the new GOLD release does it allow to change style from any position of the forum?

But I wonder, why would you rewrite the rest of the board and keep usernames un-rewritten? I think it would be useful, I've had quite a few hits just for my user pages a lone and it would make it look cleaner - - in my opinion. Maybe you could add it to the xml file and leave it as an option to enable/disable?

Ok Dean, for example: If I am on this thread forum (my forum), is only a casual thread:
http://www.lottosqueeze.org/forum/f1...renalotto.html

and try to change my forum style from the bottom page, for example I select style "Forum", it dont change to this theme (style)..

well, but if I go on the index page:
http://www.lottosqueeze.org/forum/index.php

and try now to change the style, it allow to change and viceversa to other style in menu.

EDIT: however I still use the old version of this thread and not the new beta version of DC SEO

Dean C 01-21-2006 06:35 PM

Install the new version Antonio. This was fixed a long time ago :)
