It works with digitalpoint's vBulletin 4 Sphinx Search?

DragonByte Tech 04-24-2011 01:40 PM

We haven't tested it with that script, so I couldn't say :(

Ok, I'll try the lite version. If it works, I`ll buy the Pro version =]

EDITED: the mod works, so I bought the Pro version. So far so good !

titan_lyy 04-27-2011 10:36 AM

I can't seem to see the undo button for people who clicked like/thanks.

In case users misclick "Like" they can "unlike"

I'm running 4.1.3
Everyone works perfect. except I can't see the unlike/unthank button.

DragonByte Tech 04-27-2011 01:30 PM

That's a Pro-only feature :)

Hello

When ever I add this hack, it turns all my members to guests.

What can be doin gthis.

Ive had to unistal for now

DragonByte Tech 04-27-2011 03:11 PM

This can happen on forums with very large post tables. You'll need to just let it run, there's unfortunately nothing we can do about it :(

With 2M posts it takes about 40 min in my board

caracena 04-28-2011 01:15 PM

Hi there,

I'm installing it right now on my live site (it worked perfectly on test server) but I have one question.

As for my qusestion (actually a request), could you elaborate a little bit more on the step:
Quote:

4. Optional File Edit
it is a little vague. What could happen if I don't do it? What happens if I do it?

Thanks in advance,

DragonByte Tech 04-28-2011 01:21 PM

If you don't, people will be able to see hidden content by using the search feature.
If you do, they won't.

Whenever I have enabled vBShout v5.4.3 PL2 (Lite), I get the following error when I thank, like or dislike:

Quote:

Thanks Thank for this post
Invalid response from server:
Warning: require([path]/dbtech/vbshout_pro/hooks/dbtech_thanks_postsave.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/dbtech/thanks/actions/ajax.php(245) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/savingto/dev/dbtech/vbshout_pro/hooks/dbtech_thanks_postsave.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/savingto/dev/dbtech/thanks/actions/ajax.php(245) : eval()'d code on line 1
I do not have this problem when vBShout is disabled.

Update:

Nevermind, I've remedied this problem. Within the vBulletin AdminCP I deactivated the dbtech_thanks_postsave plugin.

Another Update:

I've installed this mod to my test site for evaluation. This mod is awesome. Soon enough I'll buy the full version. Awesome product!

CharlieDelta 05-03-2011 02:01 PM

Hi Fillip,

I seem to be getting this error when "Like this post" is used:
Code:

Warning: require([path]/dbtech/vbshout_pro/hooks/dbtech_thanks_postsave.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/dbtech/thanks/actions/ajax.php(245) : eval()'d code on line 1
When the page is refreshed the error disappears and the like is counted.

Any ideas?

DragonByte Tech 05-03-2011 10:45 PM

See the above post, there will be an update to vBShout soon that will fix this :)

Fillip

CharlieDelta 05-04-2011 01:20 PM

How did I miss that? :o

Thanks Fillip

deverill2010 05-04-2011 08:28 PM

Ive installed this on 4.1.3

Is this edit still required?

PHP Code:

        // Deal with the case that quote was the only content of the post

if (trim($page_text) == '')
        {

$page_text $this->get_field('pagetext');

$strip_quotes false;
        }

DragonByte Tech 05-04-2011 09:21 PM

I believe so yeah.

Fillip

deverill2010 05-04-2011 09:32 PM

Thanks for the reply,

I asked because I don't even have a folder called Legacy in the root.

So am wondering if the post.php is elsewhere?

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2011 12:22 AM

What? Nothing of that is described in the readme file O.o

Fillip

deverill2010 05-05-2011 05:08 AM

Ah I found it, I was just being a thicko!

Nice mod. Installed!

Hi guys,
I'm newbie to this would you guys please show me how to upload the folder upload. I have to go to each folder and upload files in that particular folder to the same folder on root or just upload the whole "upload" folder into root?
Thanks all!

Do it as you said there except is not the "upload" folder inside root... it's everything INSIDE the upload folder into your forum root. You should be asked if you want to Merge or Replace the contents depending on which FTP software you are using. Answer yes.

vb4.1.3

This is most commonly the result of CSS settings, namely the background attribute of the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, in postbit.css.
To fix it, please try the following steps:

Step 1) Remove all the contents of the postbit_control_background StyleVar.
Step 2) If that didn't fix it, please enter the postbit.css file and find the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, and remove the background: definition.

Hope that helps :)

I'm trying the demo or lite version of thanks on VB 4.1.3. I like it but noticed that whenever I click one of the "liked", "dislike", or "Thanks" buttons, the following error is posted next to it "Internal Server Error".
Any ideas how to correct this? I want to buy the full version but currently this version doesn't seem to function properly.
Thanks

Are you running vBShout Lite? If so, please disable any plugins that has the word (Pro) in the title.

A fix for this will be uploaded some time this week :)

I'm getting the error /homepages/17/d366822374/htdocs/forums/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing! as well.

I can access the file and can confirm the path:

pathforgers.com/forums/upload/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_install.php

DragonByte Tech 05-09-2011 08:51 PM

But that is not the path mentioned in the error :)

You accidentally uploaded the actual upload folder instead of its contents :)

Yes, I was running vbShout lite. Tried disabling it but error message still shows up. Error disappears after I refresh the page (though I doubt it's suppose to work that way)
I'm looking forward to the fix next week!
Thanks

I'm a newbie and this is embarrassing, but where/how do I find "/vb/legacy/post.php" to edit it?

Look inside the files you downloaded from vbulletin.com (the ones you upload to your server to make the installation). In those files (already unzipped I guess), look for the folder called legacy. Inside you will find the post.php file.

Just copy that file and paste it somewhere else (i.e. your desktop). Open it and make the changes. Save the file, close it and upload it to your server, but be aware that you will have to upload it into the right filder (same as above: in your www folder, inside legacy).

Cheers!

I've tried the demo or lite version now I need to uninstall it How do I go about that? I don't seem to see a "uninstall" button or script to run. I tried deactivating the buttons but the "Post Thanks/Like" stats still show up in the user's profile next to each thread.
Thanks

Just go to vBulletin Options >> Plugins & Products >> Manage Products and then locate the product named "DragonByte Tech: Advanced Post Thanks / Like (Lite". Open the dropdown to its foremost right and select either Disable (in case you decide to give it another shot later on) or Uninstall to completely remove it.

If you uninstall it you might want to FTP into your site and remove the XML/Images you uploaded when you installed this mod.

Cheers.
