I went through your site, How long have you been using it? and are you using the "heavy" or the "medium" setting?

I use "heavy," which also parses the names of the forums, rather than only show the numbers.

Of course, we have a dedicated server and XCache installed, and I had the admins at HostGator do the optimizations recommended by vBulletin, so we are probably getting performance that's as good as it gets for that app.

Peace,

I've also noticed that the VBAdvanced extension doesnt work with the recent threads module, in addition to the uncached templates.

Also... I had to turn off the Rewrite Engine for my image directories for Wiki and Albums.

Anyone having issues with IE? I click a thread in FF and it shows:
http://www.gfx-help.com/GeneralChat-f92/testing-t27/
in IE it shows
http://www.gfx-help.com/edit-this-fr...2/testing-t27/

Jaxel 08-22-2008 01:31 AM

gfxhelp... you are using the Heavy Method... in the Heavy Method, you can define keywords for forums directly in your admin cp. "edit-this-from-admincp-THEN-forum" is telling you that you haven't defined that forum's keywords yet.

Jaxel 08-22-2008 03:32 AM

Just found a new bug...

In search results (New Posts, Today's Posts as well), all forum links dont work. The link to the thread works, but the link to the forum doesnt. Does not work with Light, Medium or Heavy... links work again once I turn SEO off...

Someone please confirm.

Jaxel 08-22-2008 04:59 AM

Okay... another new bug... I have the legacy postbit selection mod installed...

If a user is using the legacy postbit, they get uncached templates:

Uncached templates: pagenav (1)
Uncached templates: pagenav_pagelink (1)

TfSEO also kills the HIGHLIGHT function for search results.

Hey Jaxel,

Have a look, go to:
-http://www.gfx-help.com/index.php

- Click "General Chat" and it shows
http://www.gfx-help.com/GeneralChat-f92/

-Then click "Test 5" and the url changes and shows...
http://www.gfx-help.com/edit-this-fr...92/test-5-t28/

I am using heavy mode, I double checked the htaccess and it's got all of the changes needed. I also have that forum's keyword set to "GeneralChat", as you can see when you go to the category, but once you click into a thread it switches to edit-this-from-admincp-than-forum-f92. Am I missing something?

Also, in my previous post I said it was an IE only issue, but it happens in all browsers, I'm not sure why I didn't notice earlier....

Thanks

I'm not sure about the template issue, but I can confirm it removed the "highlight" from the links in the search results.

Jaxel 08-22-2008 08:39 AM

Hmm... yeah, the template issue randomly fixed itself... so that bug is fixed...

As for your Heavy Method problem... I dont see why you need to even use the Heavy Method if the keywords you are putting in are the same as the forum name anyways... Just use the Medium Method. The medium method creates the keywords based on the forum name to begin with... all the heavy method does is let you define them to something different.

Jaxel 08-22-2008 02:02 PM

Okay... found another broken link... the "View Post" link on soft-deleted posts doesnt work...

So, right now there are two things broken that I have found...
* View Posts on soft-deleted posts
* Forum links on search results

I tried switching it to the medium method, but then my links look like
http://www.gfx-help.com/f94/
Instead of
http://www.gfx-help.com/Resources-f94/ (heavy mode)

I just don't want my links to show as
http://www.gfx-help.com/edit-this-fr...92/test-5-t28/
when someone views a thread, which is currently what is happening for me. Can anyone post what their htaccess looks like with heavy mode.

Jaxel 08-22-2008 09:54 PM

Okay... yet another bug! The < > (Previous Page, Next Page) links in threads, always go to the last page. Links end up like this "page3.html&page=2"...

New Broken Links list...
* View Post on soft-deleted posts
* Forum links in search results
* Previews/Next page in threads

jammiedodger546 08-23-2008 08:21 AM

Don't really want to read through 42 pages to look for a fix but:
when its enabled and a member is reading a thread, in the whos online it chucks an unknown location (then the url). Any ideas how to fix

Jaxel 08-23-2008 09:56 AM

Okay... here is the current list of bigs I have found...

1) Broken View Post link on Soft-Deleted Posts...
2) Broken Forum Links on Search Results Pages...
3) Broken < > (previous/next) links on page navigation for multipaged threads...
4) Unchached templates for pagenav and pagenav_pagelink for multipaged threads...
5) Complete uncompatibile with the Who's Online WOL system...
6) VBAdvanced: Incompatible in general, especially with Recent Threads module...

#4 is a BIG issue with me.

I am having the same exact problem. When looking at a forum list the rewrite works perfect, if you click on a thread, it puts edit-this-forum-admincp-than-forum back into the url.

Examples:
http://www.warhammer-forums.com/warh...discussion-f3/
http://www.warhammer-forums.com/edit...-ventrilo-t75/

Please help.

I just installed this a week or so ago, and I must say, it is a great mod. I have noticed a couple issues, though. I haven't read through all of the posts, but I did a search and didn't find any matches...

First, when viewing a user's profile and current activity, it now comes up as Unknowm Location and then gives a link to the thread they are viewing. Can this issue be resolved?

Next, I noticed that Sticky topics are all screwed up, as the style sheet information doesn't get stripped from the title, therefore the link becomes ".../span-style-color-span-style-color-0000ff-****-t#####".

Other than that, and a couple of issues which I did find are being resolved, this is a great product!

I have still not found any solution, so because of this issue and the issues that Jaxel reported I had to disabled the plug-in for now. Hopefully a new release will be coming soon, this is a great mod.

Jaxel 08-25-2008 07:31 PM

When is the next patch coming? People on my forums are getting upset with #3...

1) Broken View Post link on Soft-Deleted Posts...
2) Broken Forum Links on Search Results Pages...
3) Broken < > (previous/next) links on page navigation for multipaged threads...
4) Unchached templates for pagenav and pagenav_pagelink for multipaged threads...

The mod isn't heavy. The forum is slow only in forumhome or in other pages (showthread, etc)?

If you want, i'd like to get admin access to your admincp, with right for settings and plugin.

1) Ok
2) this works with the relase i'm bulding
3) url's are not rewriteed, but they works.
4) this dosen't happen on my test forum
5) Hope to fix soon..
6) I have relase an add-on for this, try it. It add the rewrite from vba pages

I'm very tired, than if i haven't replyed to your post, up it. Thanks.

Jaxel 08-26-2008 09:42 PM

As for #3... I get the following links on the arrows:

Next Page (currently on page 1): http://www.8wayrun.com/f21/early-imp...e5.html&page=2
This link sends me to the last page (5), instead of page 2

Previous Page (currently on page 3): http://www.8wayrun.com/f21/early-imp...e5.html&page=2
This link sends me to the last page (5), instead of page 2

#4: no idea... if I disable this mod, they work fine... and I have made no modification to these two templates, nor do I have any mods that use these two templates. TFSEO is the only mod that uses these two templates... if I disable the following two plugins: Generate Navbar URLs and Generate Navbar URLs 2; then the problem is fixed... (and by result, problem #3 is fixed as well.

#6... I thank you for your work, but I have tried the plugin, and while it works with the news blocks, it is completely incompatible with the recent threads block and many of the other blocks.

superjeff 08-27-2008 06:58 AM

4) I think this is the problem that give you wrong ulrs in the multipage threads. The problem is there too, with the default style? Could i have admin access for settings/plugins to check?

Caddyman 08-27-2008 12:42 PM

EDIT: got it working, when i imported product it imports as disabled? i had to manually enable it in manage products.

billgh 08-27-2008 04:57 PM

Hi,

Finally installed this mod and very please with it, however a BIG problem.

I get about 30 lines of this:

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in [path]/includes/functions_forumlist.php(393) : eval()'d code on line 24

Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Argument must be an array in [path]/includes/functions_forumlist.php(393) : eval()'d code on line 25

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in [path]/includes/functions_forumlist.php(393) : eval()'d code on line 24

All my forums have posts in them,

Any help?

superjeff 08-27-2008 05:26 PM

1) Yes, it is disable by default.
2) Made a plugin in global_complete with this:

error_reporting(0);

Jaxel 08-27-2008 07:40 PM

Problems #3 and #4...

Yes, they still exist after I turn them back on and load the default skin.

Thanks, after reading some posts in this thread I solved the problem replacing/adding this code to forumbit_display:

PHP Code:

if (!empty($forum['lastpostinfo']) AND $forum['lastpostinfo'] != $vbphrase['private'] AND $forum['lastpostinfo'] != $vbphrase['never'] AND $forum['lastpostinfo'] != '-' AND $vbulletin->options['tfseo_attivo'] AND $vbulletin->options['tfseo_riscrivi'] AND $vbulletin->options['tfseo_page_index'])
{
$tfseo_tot_post $vbulletin->db->query_read_slave("
SELECT thread.replycount
FROM "
TABLE_PREFIX "thread AS thread
WHERE threadid = '
$lastpostinfo[lastthreadid]'
"
);
$a mysql_fetch_assoc($tfseo_tot_post);
$a implode($a);
$a $a $vbulletin->options['maxposts'];
$a floor($a);
if (
$a 0)
{
$tfseo_total_page $a+1;
$tfseo_lastpage $vbulletin->options['tfseo_pagina'] . $tfseo_total_page ".html";
}

Is this still the correct thing to do as it seems to have worked.

Jaxel 08-28-2008 04:56 AM

New bug to add to the list...

Instant Message icon links are broken.

Do you mean that you have released an add-on or are you planning it? I can't find it anywhere.

And by the way Jeff, your english seems to have nicely improved since the beginning of this Thread. :)

Find that bug, too. The vbulletin system have deleted the "plugin" field in template, than all the customized template are there..

superjeff 08-29-2008 06:14 AM

Ok, fixed i hope.

gfxhelp.com 08-29-2008 06:57 AM

I still can't seem to make it work. I have it on heavy mode and it works when viewing the home page or a category, but when clicking a thread it reverts back to "change-this-in-admin-cp-fxx"

Any ideas?

Temporaneally, disable the 301 redirect for thread.
Then try to fix by yourserlf, you must edit the plugin "301 redirect for thread".

I've just done them all, except the inlinemod as I don't understand your instructions. But if they aren't needed then I'll revert to the original files again.

superjeff 08-29-2008 09:13 AM

They aren't required, but they are very usefull, like the RSS rewrite. It's very important for search engine!
About inlinemod, you must overwrite the file included with your original.
