installed!

MoMan 07-18-2008 11:01 PM

Can this system be used along with the normal registration system? I've seen some forums disable the registration system and only use invites, so I'm just making sure. This would be a nice add-on.

TriMe 07-18-2008 11:15 PM

Yes, both can be enabled.

arcadian_girl 07-19-2008 07:23 AM

why is the mod creator ignoring this mod? He seems to login and post on this forum..why's he ignoring this thread? If he doesn't want to deal with it anymore wouldn't the classy thing to do be to come in here and let ppl know he's not supporting it, and maybe offer to let someone else take it over, so the problems can be fixed?

KevinL 07-19-2008 07:26 AM

Haven't had any problems with it. It's working as designed. ;)

Great work :)

It's even more frustrating because months ago it was stated there would be a bunch of useful features added.

Captain Tycoon 07-19-2008 08:09 PM

Uninstalled! I'm really disappointed, this would have been an excellent modification if it was supported.

Ladderwars1 07-20-2008 04:28 PM

is there away to edit the defualt amount of invites a userhas?

BucWiLd 07-21-2008 11:42 AM

thank you installed

Cigarcritic 07-25-2008 12:57 PM

Beware: I spent several hours tracking down a securitytoken error and this hack was the culprit. When I deleted a user, I would get the securitytoken error.

Uninstalled.

Could you be more specific to exactly what the token error was & how you believe it related to the hack?

Parse error: syntax error, unexspected T_STRING in XXXXX includes/class_dm_user.php(2243) : eval()'d code on line 29

I already answered that question in my original post you quoted. :)

Megatr0n 07-25-2008 02:54 PM

Yeah, I PM'd a few times too with some questions and he didn't reply.

I'll be uninstalling this soon too.

vics 07-25-2008 03:06 PM

Thanks for the information.
I'm trying to assess why this would be overtly 'bad', given the hack's intrinsic 'value', and I cannot- How often do you delete users?

Now if it were a cross site scripting or SQL injection phenomenon - then I'd be concerned.

Articulador 07-28-2008 07:24 PM

Very good, but I think this system invites could be similar to the system of version 3.6, where users could earn invitations by post and reputation.
Example: a user reaches 50 post and win a new invite, automatically.
Maybe you would change the xml him to work that way I mentioned above?
I'm sure that the system would do much more success, more in forums like mine that the user only enter by invite.
Another thing is the initial number of invites, I think very high 10 invitations for each user, that number could fall get 5 or less.
e is my tip.

Regards.

Articulator

PS: Sorry my bad english.

Does anyone have a fix for this? Many people are experiencing this error.

This sounds like an awesome mod - have these issues been fixed?

ETDC 07-30-2008 10:07 PM

Installed and working fine - can anyone clue me in as to how to change the colour of the 'Invite a Friend' text in the navbar? I thought it would be in the Navbar template but I can''t find it. :(

Hasann 08-01-2008 12:35 PM

1. august 08 Changes

added webmaster email instead of sender email to all invites
Parse error: syntax error, unexspected T_STRING fixed.
Security token errors fixed

Thanks to Cornie for German language
and Thanks to Trime for his change

Alfa1 08-01-2008 01:58 PM

Thanks Hassan - is this optional? I'd prefer my members to send a personal email.

Any insight into my earlier question?

:)

Can it be changed back (or made optional)? I don't want members to send an email from the board admin - the conversion rate will be much higher if it appears as an email from the invitee's friend.

BucWiLd 08-01-2008 04:07 PM

we just goto admincp>products and import your new xml right? we overwrite also correct? is there a way to get a link that can be sent over say aim, yahoo im ,etc without having to email?

Yes overwrite the xml.

To get your link, invite someone using an email address then on the same page you will get a list of sent invites. On the left side of that table is the invite key

IF IN:
In admin CP-> Options -> Invitation System Options

Invitation Code Link
Display the invitation code as a link to the registration option in usercp? NO_ YES_

If set to YES, then right click the invite key and copy link location and paste it into aim, yahoo, or any other chat window.

If set to NO then copy http://YOURHOSTNAME.com/register.php?referrerid=X&invitation=

somewhere (***note you have to enter the hostname and where the X is, your profile number)

then copy the invite key after that without any spaces.

agreed

I think it will be better if you make it optional Hasann

Namaless 08-03-2008 10:18 PM

Update "cache_template" plugin (missing "usercp_invitation_email" template from cache):
PHP Code:

$globaltemplates array_merge$globaltemplates, array('usercp_invitation_block''usercp_invitation_email') );

Regards.

ETDC 08-03-2008 11:26 PM

 Is that the code to make it optional?

DragonMasterNYC 08-03-2008 11:33 PM

Great mod tested and installed, but I do have one question I was looking for an invite system similar to the one Demonoid.com has where you invite someone and they can register even if registrations are turned off.

What do that code do?

Hassan,

Do you still plan to make a contacts importer? (MSN, Yahoo!, Gmail, etc)
Do you accept donations through E-Gold?
