I have a big suggestion, and if you could forfill it, you'll make my VBulletin life for the past years of having a point system a lot easier.

Could you add some sort of system where you can mass set the point amount for a mass set of forums that the user selects. So I don't have to go through 10-20 forums and uncheck...default.

If this can be done, this would be really really helpful :)! Thanks for listening.

Darkwaltz4 08-03-2007 06:42 PM

i am making a mass usergroup and mass forum application tool. should i do mass users while im at it? oh wait i did...;)

Terrasoft 08-03-2007 07:01 PM

LoL. I love this!

Now this might be a long shot, but I have RPG Inferno v3...I was wondering if there was any way to convert to use the same credits in both Inferno and everywhere else. I realize that the money code in v3 is alot different so...if thats not possible, Im requesting a converter. Someone made one for vbplaza and if you want to see it for reference, Id be more than happy to. What it does is let you pay x amount of credits/vbbux to get x amount of Inferno money.

No I didn't know about the template hooks thing,

and

I'm using vb 3.6.8

Thanks :)

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 07:05 AM

Alright, your mission is to add the template hooks :) if that doesnt work, come talk to me via IM or PM so I can investigate your board.

raiderlax 08-04-2007 07:35 AM

I just wanted to ask this:

What I'm looking to do is have users earn credits by how much they post, how much they refer etc... and I know this can do that, now I want them say to be able to reach 200 credits and they get a free "cup".

Now the place where I'm confused is how they can use their credits to do this.
Say they want to use their 200 credits to get this "cup" can they use it and their 200 credits will be deducted because they used them, now do I have to manually deduct them or how does this work.

What I'm trying to accomplish is that they save up their points to say use them on getting a "cup" than once they use their credits, they go away, and than they have to earn more credits to get more stuff, does this system work like this?

If their credits can't be deducted and used on something I don't really see a point to using it for me because than I could just base getting a "prize" on post count.

Thanks in advance :)

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 07:37 AM

you will be able to sell your cup in the addon I am building called vBCommerce :)
vBCredits covers earning credits, vbcommerce deals with spending them

Thanks, okay now how long will it take till vbcommerce comes out because then that is what I'm looking for?

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 08:26 AM

look for it next week. will be posting more sneak previews on vbcredits.com :D

Vesica 08-04-2007 08:31 AM

Is there a way to change one members credits without donating? Also a donate button underneath the credits in the postbit would be very useful.

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 08:51 AM

Clicking the word credits goes to the donation screen for that person. You can move the link to the word donate, sure. Its just it doesnt auto donate, users with global transaction logs can view that user's transaction logs by clicking that link as well, which is why I have left it the way it is.

Also, if you have post award permissions, you can just use the post award system to give credits (and remove them!) without spending any of your own for it. also works in profiles.

I need to write a manual or something for all the same questions I keep answering

Chase 08-04-2007 02:21 PM

Dark... in 1.4 when a person A donates credits to person B will the amount of credits from Person A be deducted for their total? This would only make sense.

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 06:40 PM

it already does this!!

why do half of you complain about only being able to give admin gifts and cant find the donate screen

and the other half cant find the award post system and complain they cant award people for free!?

/me must make a manual now... -_-

subnet_rx 08-04-2007 07:07 PM

Actually, if you have already answered the question in this thread, I just would ignore it. They will finally figure it out, or they will start using search, which is usually the first thing I do for huge threads like this. "Search this Mod" can be invaluable for finding information.

Fraxter 08-04-2007 07:07 PM

I have a question.

It is possible, that the users get the credits after 12 hours?

For example: A user write a post. For a post he get 2 Credits. But he must wait 12 hours before he get the credits.

best regards

Pander23

Darkwaltz4 08-04-2007 07:31 PM

Pander23, if you can convince me the merits of that I might include it in 1.5 :)

ramchip 08-05-2007 02:00 AM

I want to change "credit" to another currency. Is there an easy guide to do this?

Darkwaltz4 08-05-2007 02:04 AM

You mean to change the name of it?

Edit the phrase 'credits'

also asked a lot, answered a lot, and also included in the instructions :D

Yes but where do I change it? What file?

Darkwaltz4 08-05-2007 02:30 AM

In the phrase editor of your vbulletin. 1.4 will have a link to it for those who cant find it.

????????

Darkwaltz4 08-05-2007 03:13 AM

In the ACP
Languages & Phrases
Search in Phrases...

search for text: 'credits'
Phrase Variable Name Only
Exact Match: yes

Edit the only phrase that it finds...

PlymWS 08-05-2007 08:41 AM

Voted this MOTM for August. Fantastic mod. Can't wait for the extra functionality in 1.4 ;)

PlymWS 08-05-2007 01:11 PM

One thing that I would certainly like, and others may find useful, would to include a piece of text at the bottom of a post, or by the post control buttons (edit, quote, thank etc) that says "[USER] was awarded 'X' credits for this post", with 'X' being the amount of credits awarded to the poster.

Darkwaltz4 08-05-2007 02:06 PM

1.4 is almost done, will probably be tested on vbcredits site at the end of the day. some of the more recent requests will be considered for 1.5

Fredatitulip 08-05-2007 02:22 PM

Awesome hack. Thanks. Quick question, tho. I'd like to use the Mass Credit Award Tool to:

* Reset everyone to zero
* Set everyone to the same level

But I can't find it via the admin or the usergroups. Can someone point me to it, please?

Thanks!

Darkwaltz4 08-05-2007 02:36 PM

Until 1.4 links you directly to it, you will find it in the Update Counters screen.

Eager to know more about ver. 1.4

Is it going to be Integrated with vBulleting Infraction & Report Post features?

Looking forward to see more integration with vBulleting in-built features.

Fraxter 08-05-2007 04:36 PM

@Darkwaltz4: Have you read my pm? I have sent you more informations about the time thing. ;)

best regards

chris1979 08-05-2007 04:58 PM

I have a new feature request. How about a way to show how many credits someone has with images rather than numbers? Rather than just displaying the number, show a row of images. The more credits they have, the longer the row. (Like the reputation display).

I am considering tying this into the rank images system.. I dont really like having like coins and stuff...gets annoying and doesnt serve much purpose except to look cool.

btw, 1.4 feature list is pretty much set, and i will be putting it on vbcredits.com tonight or tomorrow morning. Be on the lookout for it :-p if everything tests okay I will release it on vbcredits.com, and then here a day later.

Just curious, was this ever corrected on these other boards, and if so, was it the same solution/problem for each one, or will we need to contact you directly each time? Just wanted to be sure there wasn't a universal solution before I bugged you with a PM.

EDIT: Well, I mentioned this on vBcredits.com, but I thought I should mention it here just in case it's helpful. I changed the hook location for the User CP Cell Creation to usercp_complete, and not only did the Manage Credit's link finally appear, but all the points from our old uCash hack attached to all the appropriate accounts. Which is weird, because before I did that, everything was at zero. Don't know if that's of any help to anyone, but didn't think it would hurt to throw it out there.

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 02:11 AM

Yes, the problem was there was a hook that doesnt exist in versions prior to 3.6.7

1.4 has some changes for the usercp links, so...youll be updating anyway :-p

Digital Jedi 08-06-2007 02:29 AM

Heh, yeah, I figured as much. I just noticed that the link doesn't show up on every page of the User CP, just the first page. Doh!

AyeCapn 08-06-2007 03:26 AM

I must be dense or something... Where is the "Update Counters" screen that will allow me to do mass-updating of points?

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 03:53 AM

>.> just wait for the next release and you can use the link...

I can't wait till this comes out so that I can have people use credits to buy things :)

Also will this vbcommerce cost money?

And is it still due to come out next week?

Thanks :)

Darkwaltz4 08-06-2007 04:35 AM

no, yes, and youre welcome

Each Infraction/Warnings must carry some minus points based on the severity of the Infraction or the Infraction points. The members who get the Infraction will loose the vBcredits according to the Infraction point.

Like, when somebody reports a Post. The person reported should automatically gain some vbCredit and the poster of that post should loose some vbCredits.
