Chadi 08-29-2007 01:49 AM

Thanks for explaining this. Hopefully someone else will explain how to work this.

chris_m 08-29-2007 05:46 PM

It works for me. I'm the admin but it doesn't seem to be working for my members. I've checked in the CP and they are allowed to use AME. Is there an issue with the quick post or advanced post? All it's doing for youtube is creating a link.

Carlos2 08-29-2007 09:57 PM

I have a problem with daily motion, i choose extraction data in the options, and it seems to embed them but the videos dont start, dont appear also de the play button. Anybody knows why?

If your members are authorized to use AME as you say they are, then it should work for them. There is no issue with using the Quick Reply or the Advanced Reply to post up videos. Would you be able to provide a link to a thread where I can see your AME working, but not your Members (same video link, if possible).

DailyMotion requires the Extract Info featured to be checked, for it to work properly, so if I read right you have that option enabled correct? Is this happening for all your Videos Links from DailyMotion or just a specific Video? Can you too provide a Link to the thread on your Forum where this is happening.

skydigiman 08-30-2007 08:19 AM

Could someone explain how or what plugins I would need to make to get AME tags working on the new vb blog addon ?

Doctor Death 08-30-2007 10:09 AM

AME works totally by itself. Just install it and any paths to media files will be parsed automatically

Vb Blog has its own bbcodes ?

EDIT : AME works fine on my forums, but not on the Blog

Cooter 08-30-2007 11:21 AM

I read through this entire thread and this hack simply would not work. It only showed an active url. I uninstalled and used THIS instead. At least it works.

The Bouncer 611 08-30-2007 01:36 PM

This hack works perfectly on my site

Unfortunately, the only person who would be able to help you at that point would be The Geek as he is the author of the Code, but he has stepped away for a while due to personal reasons. If he comes back then he can help you. I think what you are seeking will require modifying the code in some way to add the support for vB Blogs. Anyways, your best bet would be to wait for him to come back and help you out.

Well if you posted exactly what happened, maybe provided a Link to a thread or something we would be able to assist you. What Links where you posting that AME would not convert to a Video. Did you set up the Permissions per Usergroups as instructed? If you decide to use this Hack again, please let me know this info and I will assist you as best as possible.

JustJon 08-31-2007 05:16 PM

I'm trying to install this mod, but when I go to the import product screen, and upload the xml file, the installer goes to a blue screen and hangs. Why can't I install this mod?

Chadi 08-31-2007 09:34 PM

How do I allow certain usergroups to post video links, yet automatically be moderated first?

Dannyloski 08-31-2007 11:44 PM

JustJon, this Hack/Mod, during Installation of the Product adds a field to the "Post" table in your Database, so considering your forum is a large one then it can take a couple of hours for it to get it done. My suggestion would be to shut down your forums, import the Product, let it take as long as it needs (like I said it can be hours), and then reopen your forums. It is worth it though, believe me - this Hack is awesome and I love it!

chadi, what you could do is set the setting "Follow Forum Moderation Rules" to "No" for the specific Usergroup you want. This will then Moderate ALL of the post made by the Members of this Usergroup by sending the posts made to the Moderation Queue ... You will then have to manually approve each post in order for it to show in the forums. Take into consideration that this will move ALL of the posts they make into the Moderation Queue and not just the ones containing Video Links. As of now, there is no way to only move the post containing a Video to the Moderation Queue ... Its all or nothing basically, so you decide what to do, hope this helps ...

SKULL1985 09-01-2007 05:27 PM

This is a grate mod and one of the best media mods i have seen released so far.

I have a few sites i would like to be added is possable.

www.spikedhumor.com
http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/index

DieselMinded 09-02-2007 12:58 AM

The EHOWA has stopped working why?

hotwheels 09-02-2007 02:33 PM

The Geek? After you find the site you want to use and you use regexp, how do you locate the actual player and set it up in the html section.....I spent several hours trying to get a couple of websites to work, and just haven't had much luck.....

Several of the site's that were/are set up from here as .xml's, come out as 2 players and show the code from the html box.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated......

hotwheels 09-02-2007 02:51 PM

k, I figured out part of the html problem......

cclaerhout 09-02-2007 07:55 PM

I just have a look at slide.com. I don't think it's possible to make it work with AME because the video code in the URL link isn't the same than the video code in the embed flash link.

Saviour 09-02-2007 09:58 PM

I would like to embed content from JoeCartoon.com. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance...

Update:

Actually...I'm not familiar with regular expressions...I downloaded the trial version of RegExBuddy...but after reading some of the tutorial and how to use it...I just gave up. I just don't feel like racking my brain to get content from joecartoon.com to display properly within my forum.

So, if anyone has any suggestions or can accomplish this for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I know...I know...that and $2.50 will get you a large cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts, but the truth is...I just don't have the patience when it comes to learning new software.

Hopefully, someone will see this post and have mercy on me.

Again...thanks for taking the time to at least read this post...

cclaerhout 09-03-2007 12:32 PM

The hack doesn't work with blogs (from vB) :(

Hi Danny. Thanks for the mod.

If you can do godtube.com that would be great.

I know nothing about programming but the embed code looks similar to any other video site like youtube.com

Example:

Code:

<embed src="http://godtube.com/flvplayer.swf" FlashVars="videoThumb=http://www.godtube.com/thumb/1_11096.jpg&flvPath=http://www.godtube.com/flvideo1/7/11096.flv" wmode="transparent" quality="high" width="330" height="270" name="flv_demo" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></embed>

Has anyone figured this out yet? Just curious.

Also, how do I set the alignment of the video frame? By default its centered, I prefer it to be left align. Also, how do I actually edit the frame itself because the links are clashing (purple) over the darker purple background. Which template is this found in?

Saviour 09-03-2007 06:55 PM

Does anyone support this mod after you install it...or are you pretty much left guessing?

Dannyloski 09-03-2007 09:37 PM

Alright guys, sorry I have been super busy with School and other personal things ... Now, let me replies to those posts made ...

SKULL1985, per your request (I am sure a lot of people will enjoy these RegExs) I have added both of the requested sites. Please download the attached ESPN Videos and SpikedHumor Videos XMLs and Import them via the Import Tool of AMECP (AdminCP > AMECP > Import). Enjoy!

DiesellMinded, I looked at their code and missed something important - they update their Video Directories on a daily basis. For example one day the Video is hosted in the folder 09030202PM then the next day they host it in 09040517PM or similar folder. If you follow it, the Directory Name changes by Date and Time Access of the Video. So everytime the a Video is loaded they move it to a new/different directory so that people dont do what we are doing, which is Hot Linking and taking their Bandwidth. The only way around this would be with the Extract Info Feature where an additional RegEx would come into play to extract the new directory of the Video each time it's accessed, but like you already know, I do not know how the Extract Info Feature works so EHOWA cannot be supported at this time. I really apologize as I know not many of the sites you have requested have been able to get done due to the need of the Extract Info Feature and you donated towards the license fee, but I have tried my best and have had no luck with the Feature - I just dont get it. Again, sorry ...

cclaerhout, you are correct on both of your posts. First of all, Slide.com would require the use of the Extract Info Feature and at this point I do not know how it works, so I cannot add support for those sites who require it. And finally, yea this Hack at the moment does not work with vB Blogs - that's something that The Geek (author of the Hack) would have to code or do something to accomplish it - I cannot do that.

Saviour, to your latest post (#630) I say this: The Geek (author of this Hack/Mod) has some personal issues and matters he has to take care before he can come back and keep supporting this Hack. If you would go back a few pages you would find all of this info available for you. In the meantime, I am doing most of the Support for this Hack (up to where I can as I am not the author and do not know how all of the Hack's Functions work). I am doing this for free as well and I dont have to do it, but I am because I wanna help others. So please just be patient as I too have a life and am not going to be 24/7 in the computer adding support to this Hack that's not even mine. With that said, to your previous post (#627) I say this: Please download the Attached .XML for Joe Cartoon Videos and you can enjoy the Videos from JoeCartoon.com in your Forums

chadi, I think I am the only one adding Support via XML's at the moment and nope I still dont understand the Extract Info Feature, so GodTube.com cannot be added and will NOT be added until The Geek comes back and either does a Tutorial on how that Feature works or does those RegExs himself. As far as aligning the Video Frame to the Left instead of having it Centered, you can go here: Admin CP> AMECP > Settings > Container HTML > Open ... Now where you see <div align="center"> change it to <div align="left"> ... Hope that helps. Get back at me if it doesnt with the whole code you have in the "Open" Box - Mine is modified, so it may be a bit different than yours.

Now, I think that's everything ... If I missed someone's posts sorry, didnt mean to just kinda busy and wanted to reply quickly ... Get at me if you have any questions by posting here or via PMs, but I'd prefer posting here. Good luck guys and hope you all enjoy the New RegExs ... Keep the request coming and when I get some time I'll add them (if they dont require the Extract Info Feature that is ;)) ...

- Danny

Danny...

Thanks...I imported the XML, however, I want to show the cartoons in the post, but somewhere along the line, it's not working...am I missing something?

BTW...thank you so much for giving it a shot...

Dannyloski 09-04-2007 06:30 PM

DiesellMinded, thanks for understanding  ...

SKULL1985, glad you like it and glad to help ;) ...

WEBclay, at the moment no. You will need to wait until The Geek comes back and does a Tutorial for the Extract Info Feature or wait until he does the RegEx coding himself.

Saviour, the JoeCartoon XML is for content in the "Videos" Section only, thats what I was aiming for. I could try and create an additional RegEx for the Cartoons Section, but JoeCartoon.com seems to be down at the moment, so I will have to wait until they get the site back online so I can take a look at the code and see if its doable. BTW, what was the link that you were using?

WEBclay 09-04-2007 06:41 PM

To bad, thanks anyways...Doesn't seems like The Geek will do anything further :(

bigjoe7 09-04-2007 09:01 PM

does this work with vbadvanced?

Thanks, Danny...

I was specifically targeting the cartoons...

This is what I was using as a sample link:

http://www.joecartoon.com/cartoons/539-twft

This actually links to the page where the cartoon is. I'm not sure what the link would be for the actual video of the cartoon. I'm pretty sure it's Flash...but not sure how to code it.

Thanks, in advance for all your help on this one.

Dannyloski 09-04-2007 11:16 PM

WEBclay, well like I said before and like he said before, there are priorities and at this time his family is priority. He had to step away due to some personal reasons and cannot add support until those things are settled. When he comes back - Im sure he will, he can then help everyone.

bigjoe7, at the moment no - That's something that The Geek would have to add or something ...

Saviour, no problem. Download the Attached RegEx (XML) and import it ... Just link to the Cartoons like you are doing right now and it will auto convert it to the Video. Use the same link you posted on Post #639 ...

Mr.D 09-05-2007 11:42 AM

Is it possible to add Break.com?

Dannyloski 09-05-2007 03:23 PM

Mr.D, possible? Yes. Can I do it? No. I have been trying to understand how the New Extract Info Feature from AME works, but have had no luck. The reason I wanted to figure it out was because of Break.com, for the most part, but I cant seem to get it to work like it should or get it to work period, lol. So, like I've said before support for sites that require this feature cannot be added (by me) and will not be added until The Geek comes back and either does a Tutorial on how that Feature works or does those RegExs himself.

G_Man 09-05-2007 04:34 PM

@DannyLoski: First of all thanks for all the work. I assume you've got the money you need? If not, post/pm and I'll send a few more $ your way.

Second, I would like to suggest you release a seperate Hack as an add-on for this one. This way you can keep track of all the regex releases in the first post so we can keep up to date on what's avaible, etc. You might even zip them. ;)

And lastly... is www.collegehumor.com a doable version? Seems to have the video id in the embed code.

Cheers,
G_Man

Dannyloski 09-05-2007 08:45 PM

G_Man, no problem, glad to help out ... I got the money needed to buy the license, but if you feel like donating you can always send some extras cash to shop@talkjdm.com (that's my paypal) ... As far as CollegeHumor.com Videos, it's definately doable and will release it soon ... Oh and about creating another Thread for the RegExs, I can see why you would want me to do that, so I guess I can do it if you guys want ...

Dannyloski 09-05-2007 10:44 PM

Alright, so I release a new thread with all the RegExs & XMLs, etc .. it can be found here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=157109 ... G_Man, go there to download the CollegeHumor XML ...

Cheers Mate!!!

Tact7626 09-07-2007 02:01 AM

installed today. tested it. works beautifly. thank you. :)

btw. i have a a q.

i am not familiar with the other video sites besides google, youtube and myspace that the mod comes packaged with. do those sites have strict content rules as well? i have installed this mod in my forum which is a religious forum. and we dont' want any adult/pornographic type stuff. so if it turns out that maybe "bolt" or "dailymotion" or those other sites do show such content. then i might have to remove this. is it possible to limit the sites it works with? i just found out metacafe has adult content. so i would not want ame to bbcode that.

would appreciate any ideas/comments/replies/thoughts. thank you again.
