Do the permissions to see the data follow primary usergroup only or primary and any additional?

Reason I ask is that on my site, my primary usergroup is Registered User. My additional group is administrator.

The administrator permissions were set to yes for all the Guest Tracking options. On Registered user, they were set to no by default. I could not see the Guest Tracking section until I turned on the ability for Registered Users to see the section.

I hope that makes sense.

It uses the standard vbulletin permissions system. I would guess that you have not allowed the registered users group to inherit permissions, it's a usergroup setting.

for forums with many usergroups, this new option sucks! would have preferred the previous opt in/out globally from the options menu. just my opinion.

before upgrading it was showing.
after upgrading it isnt showing anything in forumhomepage.
please look at my forum

i just uploaded one file and uninstalled previous plugin and installed new plugin.

Yes this happen too on my forum, but just go in your usergroup (administrators) permissions then enable all option for Tracking Guest and click save, refresh your forumhome page and then it show up.

opps..to show guests visits only there shd be yes/no option for all usergroups together in vboptions/guesttracking
then if we want diff permissions we can set
but to set permission for all is cumbersome.

No more cumbersome than setting any other usergroup permission. If you choose to run many usergroups then that's something you have to live with.

for usergroups that DO NOT have these permissions, why even show the clickable option? do an if/then and drop the hyperlink.

not more usergroups..only 1additional usergroup then default
but i'm suggesting to enable show guests visit globally for all.

We only allow staff to view the display. Why would anyone allowed banned/suspended members to see it.

Hi Paul...I upgraded from v1.1.7 on my vB 3.6.8 and set the options...but the hack is not displaying.

I did upload the bitfield file in the includes/xml folder as well.

Any thoughts?

Over Write this file spiders_vbulletin.xml With spiderlist.xml from the link you gave Correct ?

Do i need to rename the xml from the link to spiders_vbulletin.xml ?

I Just Copied everything Between <spiderlist> and </Spiderlist> and added it to my stock xml

Same here, its no longer showing ...

Got it working, missed a step

To install ;
*Unzip the XML files.
* Upload the bitfields file to your ../includes/xml folder.
* Import the product into vB using the ACP Product Manager.
* Set your required permissions in the usergroup manager.


Did not read well enough, once I saw that and did it, all was OK

Works like a charm! (Don't forget to set usergroup permissions, guys!)

However, I like to display the guest count for guests / normal users, but not the IPs and such. It'd be nice if the user couldn't view the list/IPs/etc. to not display the link to the page. It may confuse the users.

with version 1.19 I get a MySQL Error when clicking on a Spider link
(misc.php?do=guestlist&type=Visitors)

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.8:

One tiny error. After installing version 1.19, the product is still showing 1.17 in the ACP.

To fix, find this line (line 6) in Track-guests.xml:

Code:
        <version>1.17</version>
Change to:

Code:
        <version>1.19</version>
and reinstall with the "overwrite" option.

I think it was because in those few moments I did not setup the permissions in the user group manager, but I cannot confirm this was the reason, as one of the other Admins, did a restore of a previous backup, and the messages went away, this did not affect the installation of this hack, as it's still on and running, however no one is reporting the above error messages anymore, current version of hack is running, user group permissions are all done....

so not sure still as to why...

any thoughts ?

If your XML says 1.17 then you have the wrong version, the XML uploaded says 1.19.
