Make sure your template edits are still there. I had the same issue.

BlueBulletRL 06-24-2008 10:46 PM

it shows as a new thread but when I pull it up to be viewed its pulling up an old thread.....

BlueBulletRL 06-24-2008 10:53 PM

I'm double checking all of my template edits and they all look fine looks like its my test site itself.

BlueBulletRL 06-26-2008 03:20 AM

Would any of these template edits have caused this? I tried to bring it back to original edits but it still is not working.

BlueBulletRL 07-03-2008 03:01 AM

Hey I have a question is there anyway to make this work so that you can hit edit post and it will allow you to edit the fields or no?

MissKalunji 07-03-2008 02:22 PM

no you have to go "Thread Tools in the navbar* to be able to edit it

BlueBulletRL 07-04-2008 04:21 PM

yea I know thats how I had to but I didnt know if there is a way to fix that. I'm using it as like a kind of classfied section and I want my users to be able to hit edit post and be able to edit diff fields. I had tried the other hack that puts it into the message body but when you hit edit you get all the code and eh I'm not a fan of that. Trynna get the best of both worlds.

Digital Jedi 07-04-2008 06:55 PM

I'm thinking it can't work that way because this is a threadbit edit, and post edit options are controlled via the Postbit Templates.

MrD 07-04-2008 07:00 PM

Hi,
nice Hack.
but how can i do,that the Postbit shows
  • field1
  • field2
  • field3

and not
field 1, field 2, field 3.

And the threadbit looks
field 1 field 2
field 3 field 4

and not
  • field1
  • field2
  • field3

BlueBulletRL 07-05-2008 04:42 PM

agreed it is in the thread bit template, thats what I mean is there still a way if I put it somewhere else I can get it to work.

caggla 07-10-2008 05:02 PM

for multilanguage forums is there way to create custom vbphareses?
that would be great
a great hack by the way.

BlueBulletRL 07-14-2008 03:43 AM

Anyway at all someone? I need this to work by editing post but keeping it with the fields.

oz_girl 08-16-2008 08:05 AM

jera 09-11-2008 08:14 PM

Good news! And whether it will be possible to make a filtration in a forum by data of extra fields. For example, in one of extraa field various cities will be specified. And then through the filter to display at a message forum only with one city.

Works on VB 3.8.2!

doa24uk 05-08-2009 02:55 PM

Hi,

I am using this to let the users input an url ... the problem is the text box is truncating the url.

Is there any way to lengthen the allowed input to say 200 characters?

eg. my url is - http://lazyrecords.co.uk/forum/acape...ped-20452.html

but it's truncating at

http://lazyrecords.co.uk/forum/acape...pers-delight-a

Thanks in advance

EDIT: I figured it out for those of you having the same problems.

FIND in newthread_extra_fields

Code:

maxlength="85"
Lengthen that to whatever you wish.

NOTE - The mysql field (field1) is limited to 100 characters so if you want more than that you'll have to edit the "field1" length in the mysql table - "thread"

bnimbhal 11-28-2009 11:34 AM

Hi,

I have installed the hack but facing some problem, I am using VBSEO design, I did all the things mentioned in read me file, but still the extra feild option is not coming in the thread.

Please check Attached screen shots. This may explain full.

Thanks

Hi,
will this Addon or the Pro Version Updateted t oVB4?

Cla75 12-20-2009 01:47 PM

This mod is very interesting but I would need to know if you can add the required custom fields not only opening the topic, but also in all the posts included in a response

Have not done this, but should not be to difficult to do.

0ptima 12-20-2009 03:32 PM

What are the plans for this mod for VB4?

Thanks

I added the field $extrafields to the postbit legacy template and the contents of the variable only appeared in the first post. Look like it will be more complicated than I thought.

Cla75 12-20-2009 04:41 PM

I had the same idea, but does not work!
other ideas to solve my problem?
Thanks to all

Modifications only get sent to the Graveyard when they author requests they get sent there, or if it's been determined there's a danger in the modification.

MrD 01-02-2010 11:27 AM

Hi,
@digital Jedi: i don´t say that this go to the Graveyard here.
If User buy the Pro Version and asked in the official Support Board for a lot of Weeks about the port to VB4. And no Answer comes from the Coder, it´s not a good sign.

See the Geek Scripts(Gars,Gal etc) and Photoplog.
Morgan say´s in the Supportboards, that the Scripts will be ported, but there is no timeline.

I think, that Paid Addons, must be ported to vb4 or the coder must say that the Addon are will not ported.

Not ported paid addons blocked in my eyes, the User that will update here Boards to vb4.
