looks like this guy is good and at the rate he is going with improving this hack, I might stick to this one. He's implementing any new requested features right out his sleeve quickly like it aint really nothing.

Great job. Looking forward to a lot more on this

Roxie 02-07-2006 01:18 AM

I can access admincp/estore.php on its own. Just no links. I even tried reinstalling. hmmmmm

thats weird...don't know what to say more, haha...guess you'll have to wait till CMX gets here, sorry... ;)

ImportPassion 02-07-2006 01:25 AM

I kinda hope ebux/estore stays seperate. I have more confidence in a hack coded by CMX than any other hacker out there, and I'd hate to have it bogged down in the name of consolidation. Competition is always good as was evidenced by the fact that the ushop hack came out immediately after this was released.

I totally agree :)

nexus851 02-07-2006 02:05 AM

Can you make a working mod that allow us to give away actual products (mugs, caps, tshirts) for a specified XX points in the admincp????

i think it would be very useful...

I figured it out. The hack I had to reorder the control panel links was screwing it up. All better!! :D

I dont know why but for some reason when i installed ucash and tried to use it with ebux everything went haywire at my site. I couldnt log out then I deleted my cookies and couldnt login. I was locked out of my admincp so I couldnt just uninstall it. I had to manually remove the plugins from datastore and set all ebux and ucash plugins to inactive in the plugins table. Same with products. Then I was able to log back in and uninstall. It was very strange. I even tried to get my password sent to myself and it said my email address was wrong. I had a four hour long nightmare trying to fix it.
Its a great hack on its own. I wonder if you could convince the vbookie author to give an option to use ebux? Then I would swear off anything with U in the name.

How odd, I just saw an answer to this question, Downloaded vbookie, Came back to find the post on the php file edits they mentioned and the post was gone.'
Oh Well.
But I think it mentioned changing the name from whatever the other point system was to ebucks in the vbookie.php file.

I'd research more on this but it was listed for a minute or 3
.

Reeve of shinra 02-07-2006 03:56 AM

Doesnt vbookie let you specify the fields for the points? If not, I will probably look into getting the two to play nice this weekend since I want to do this too.

Someone has done this, but it only sends a PM for the order details, I'll take a look at incorporating it into a later version too.

is this possible?

EasyTarget 02-07-2006 04:53 AM

just had an idea while I was playing with the system and I think users would appreciate it.

It would allow users to create an event with an objective like change X user's title to Y or whatever, and allow people to donate money to that event.

For my case I would like to use that for a change X's usergroup to Y (like a special usergroup I have that restricts their posting to one forum) and then people could donate money to the pool/estore event for it to happen. maybe add options for taxing it like others or make it so if there's not enough donations in a certain amount of time that they all lose their donations or something.

EasyTarget 02-07-2006 04:58 AM

also just a suggestion for the admincp.

there's a few links in the hack that go directly to the function without prefacing it with any information. I think it would be nice to have a preface screen for them instead of a direct link to the function on the admincp navbar.

Sounds like this would need to be an add on. I'm going to make an option to buy a secondary usergroup in the near future, would that be good enough?

Noted, I'll add that to the v1.0.8 release.

I think that would be a good feature, but I don't think that would work if its meant to be a banned/limited usergroup because their other groups would take presedence over the limited settings of the secondary group right?

also another consideration for the usergroups would be if its a temporary change for X amount of time when they purchase it or a permanent one.

great hack, thanks for all the support and work.

caimakale 02-07-2006 05:23 AM

CMX...you are nothing short of amazing with this hack! It's obvious that several coding languages are as fluent for you as english is for me.

One request for a future release if I may (I did see somebody else post this earlier), change a users avatar. I know this may be complicated having to pull up the current avatars or allowing a user to upload one themselves, but I think it will be a bigger hit than changing titles etc...

And one question....what do you use to code? Is it just a text pad or do you use something like dreamweaver?

EasyTarget 02-07-2006 05:26 AM

if changing avatars is added, maybe an option to add all requests or purchases for that item to a moderation queue for image verification?

Not if you set the usergroup setting that "This one overrides others."

Yeah, the time issue will have to be an expire option.

I have this avatar changing as a feature to add an eStore Option for on my todo.txt file already, and yes, it will handle the default avatars or allow someone a URL to upload one...

I code in notepad.... All of my PHP modifications I type up in notepad when editing the PHP files. The .XML files I edit in MS Visual Studio .NET 2003 because thats where they open to and it looks purrrty lol

EasyTarget 02-07-2006 05:31 AM

just a note.. I like the new layout for the store, nice and organized.

Well, if you did that, then changing another users avatar wouldnt be that much fun, but I'll take it into consideration.

Now that the base CORE code is finished, other users can start writing addon scripts. If anyone gets an add on fully working + product/plugin xml installer, I'll add it to this thread as an addon.

I think I have the xml for the ribbons pretty much done, but I might have to copy some code from your action files to get the rest done if that's ok. I am still very much a newbie coder...very green. :nervous:

For those waiting for the ribbon hack, it will probably be even a few more days because I leave town in a few hours for business and will be away until Friday. I will do what I can when I can, but it may be delayed a little.

CMX_CMGSCCC 02-07-2006 05:36 AM

Note: v1.0.7 is out, to make sure your GIFTS are working, redo the Template Edits!!

ALSO: For the ones skeptical about this hack and how it works.. head on over to http://www.ps2hits.com/forums/ and register. I've set it up to give 20000 points on registration so you can play around a bit.

ahha, well I guess the same risks already apply by allowing free use of the image tags anyways.

a question about the forum access, will they be able to choose whatever forum they want to access from which their permissions deny them access?

If so, I'd like a way to restrict or exclude certain forum ids from that option. (I have an admin forum where I store passwords and stuff)

Stangsta 02-07-2006 05:37 AM

Another thought...

What about tagging ones signature?

Where you can leave a line of text or drop an image into someone elses signature, and the option for immunity.

BTW, The work you have put in, and the quality of support is outstanding! If all the other coders perform the way you do, vBulletin would be unstoppable!

Thank you!

caimakale 02-07-2006 05:40 AM

I was thinking....with all of these options....if somebody sat there and earned and earned and earned....they could wreak some major havoc on your boards. Banning users, sticking threads, changing avatars, etc... I know they can't take total control, but it would be funny to see it happen on somebody else's site LOL!

EasyTarget 02-07-2006 05:46 AM

an idea for an addon:

if anyone is using andrews links and downloads manager hack a good integration would be to allow earned points for users submitting files or links.

or even for those people running a photo hack, earn points for new pics.

Those are probably what CMX is referring to as extra addons but would probably be as simple as a couple lines of code in the right file. I am sure others will probably start working on a lot of these types of hacks now. I know personally I am going to look into awarding points as a birthday present.
