You're right, it is disabled until the 7th. We cannot accept orders until then because our sales department is away.

Think I don't know?

coolnikin 08-07-2006 05:29 AM

Add Pay/Donate to register with invite system. It will be very handy :)

If you have a commercial version of such a thing available do let me know.

And ya do fix Hotmail thing :s

akanevsky 08-08-2006 12:27 AM

What I'm saying is that I know that 3.6 is released and there is no need to tell me about it. Also, I'm saying that the we could not accept orders until the 7th. That's it.

I||usi0nz 08-08-2006 03:43 AM

^Well than If you knew. You would know I was just exaggerating. Because this what I saw when I post about it

Dilldogs 08-08-2006 03:48 PM

I am getting this Error after sending 12 invites great:

You must specify at least one person that you want to invite.

even after I specify person to invite? Anyone know whats wrong?

Jayphen 08-11-2006 12:13 AM

Has anyone tried installing this on a 3.6 forum?

Jayphen 08-14-2006 01:31 AM

I can confirm that this works fine on Vbulletin 3.6.

akanevsky 08-14-2006 11:39 AM

Yes, this works fine on vBulletin 3.6. That is now official.

MajorFm.com 08-14-2006 11:47 PM

This is great but needs to be incorporated within the registration process, so after the user registers, it redirects them to invite your friends page where there is a simple:

MSN Username
MSN Password

Aim Username
Aim Password

Yahoo Username
Yahoo Password

....and so on, with then ONE button that says invite, this would then login in, and send a pre-defined e-mail to all contacts on that users list e.g.
Quote:

Hi Mark,

I'd like to see you on the Urban Music Forum. It takes just 2 minutes to register...

Please visit: www.majorfm.com/forum/register.php

See you there...

Thanks,
Matin
This would then work very well, the fact that the user has to check/un-check, write the message themselves etc puts them off, big sites like Hi5 etc did exactly what is written in my spec above.

akanevsky 08-14-2006 11:49 PM

The commercial version supports msn contact grabbing, more grabbers are going to be added in future.

Jayphen 08-15-2006 08:35 AM

Is it possible to also allow the option of simply generating a code, so the user can copy and paste it to the person they're inviting rather than emailing it to them?

akanevsky 08-15-2006 01:09 PM

Please post that as a feature request at visionscripts (given that you have version 1.5.0 and up).

Jayphen 08-16-2006 01:11 AM

Eh, I coded it in myself.

Kwak 08-16-2006 04:47 AM

Could not read all 42 pages but

1. Is there a port for vBulletin 3.6.0?
2. If this is now a commercial version, do vB owners need to buy a separate license from VisionScripts for $35? I see the download link though.

Azhrialilu 08-16-2006 11:31 AM

It's confirmed as working for 3.6 about two pages back :)

akanevsky 08-16-2006 12:30 PM

Yes. The latest version (commercial) is available with 3.6.0. The free version should work with 3.6.0 without a port.

The version available here is a fully functional free version, but versions 1.5.0 and above are commercial and have more features.

Kwak 08-17-2006 05:51 AM

Hi, is it possible to rename invites to invite.php?
If so, can it be done easily? TIA.

Clicked install.

Kwak 08-17-2006 06:11 AM

For some reason, visitors/guest group can not view the Invites.php page.

I checked the Usergroup but no option there. Could not find anything in the Invites option too.

That's because they are not supposed to. The page is intended to invite other people, but guests cannot do that by definition.

Kwak 08-17-2006 05:02 PM

I guess a No for both then. Thanks anyways for the reply.

akanevsky 08-17-2006 05:49 PM

No, it's not a "no". It can be renamed easily. But I don't understand why you want to do it...

Kwak 08-17-2006 06:48 PM

Hi again, wanted to rename it to refer.php (text as Refer) but if it takes a bit of work, invites.php is fine with me.

One thing though, will it be difficult to enable guests to use invites.php? Thanks in advance.

akanevsky 08-17-2006 11:47 PM

It wouldn't be difficult, but it would defeat the purpose of the system. Why would you want people who are not even members of your site invite someone else?...

Kwak 08-18-2006 05:36 AM

How can you make it so that the invites.php link would only appear when registered members login?

Like the Mod link appears only for mods. TIA

It's a current behavior..

I||usi0nz 08-18-2006 08:49 PM

About sending mails to hotmail, does it work now?
Because last time, it didn't work :/

akanevsky 08-18-2006 11:01 PM

That depends on the relation between your hosting server and hotmail. Nothing I can do about it.

ExtremePhysique 09-09-2006 12:34 PM

Ok...I've installed this (and yes I clicked install :) ) and it's working but I'm testing things out and I'm not understanding something.

I've got the user rep disabled...so you can only get new invites based on post count. In the "Posts Required to get One Invite"

I initially had 100 posts....which gave the user 17 invites

I then changed it to 300 posts, which then gave the same user 24 invites

I then changed it to 500 posts, which then gave the same user 33 invites.

As the required post count increases should the number of invites not go down instead of up?

akanevsky 09-09-2006 01:11 PM

Each time you run the cron, invites get added to what already is, not subtracted. So it is working correctly. It didn't go down, you would get 2 x 17 = 34 the second time.

I see...that's what I figured after I ran it 5700 times :alien: *shoots self in head*

Any way to reset it all to zero again I can fix my stupid mistakes? lol

akanevsky 09-09-2006 01:57 PM

[SQL]UPDATE user SET invites = 0[/SQL]

voteforbird 09-13-2006 04:56 PM

What features does the commercial version have that this one doesn't?

akanevsky 09-13-2006 07:35 PM

- MSN Contact Grabber
- More Customizability
- Daily invite reminders and expiration notifications, can be turned off if desired.
- Ability to define how often reminders can be sent.
- Ability to reject received invitations.
- Automatic prevention of invites from being sent out to already registered e-mails.
- Automatic prevention of invites from being sent out to the same e-mail multiple times.
- Ability to define users as "First Friends". Such users become mutual buddies with all new registrants, whether invited or not.
- When an invitee signs up, the invitee can be automatically put directly into a special usergroup, if such specified in the issuer's usergroup settings.
- Image verification to prevent multiple submissions, compatible with 3.6
- History of issued invites, with color highlights and options to purge pending, expired or rejected invites.

That's just some of the differences.

voteforbird 09-14-2006 06:30 PM

I've just installed the premium version and nothing happened. The hack is not displaying anywhere in the forums, and yes it is activated.

voteforbird 09-14-2006 06:35 PM

I then went to /forums/invites.php and was [first] told to upload my license key, which I did. No difference.
