The CMS file goes in the flashchat /inc/cmses/ folder.
The error means you have not set the correct path (relative to your forum root) for your flashchat folder in the home page options, where is it located, what is it called. |
ok, i replaced the vbcms file in the right place.
i edited the botton for the user groups. then in vb options, home page display options i put the path: /home/httpd/vhosts/xxxx.com/httpdocs/forum/chat i have also tried ( http://xxx..com/forum/chat ) is this correct? i also she a spot on top of the vbcms for a path and have added it there and removed it and still no go. Still the same error :ermm: |

The path RELATIVE to your forum root, if your forums are in ...../http/forum and your chat is inside this ( ...../http/forum/chat ) then the setting is simply chat (which is the supplied default). |
LMAO........Thanks
Great Add on  Is there a way to make " Members currently using Flashchat:" link into chat? Thanks again |
I just install version 2.30 for Vbulliten 3.0.7 and was wondering if that is the lastest and greatest for vbulliten 3.0.7? Also I wanted to know how I can add the Who is Chatting as a side module on my vbportal along with having it on the botton as defualt

Hi Paul,
I'm running FlashChat v4.3.3 (which has been gradually upgraded from an old FC 3.X version) with your FC integration hack (version 2.45) on vB 3.5.0. I am running version 4.10 of this hack, which I upgraded from a previous version. Anyway, I have an occassional problem with the members in chat display on the ForumHome page, which may or may not be due to what you mentioned in the quoted text below. When I enter the chat, my nickname is correctly displayed on ForumHome. Similarly, when I leave FC and it logs me out, ForumHome correctly displays that there are no chatters. However, sometimes there will be a single user that appears on ForumHome as a member in chat (before I enter). When I enter chat, that user appears in the FC list (in other words, the user's name appears on ForumHome AND in FC). However, when I log out of FC, the number of chatters on ForumHome becomes 0, meaning that the other chatter who was initially appearing on ForumHome before I entered chat is no longer listed. When I reenter FC, that user is not there, as he or she was when I initially entered FC. Additionally, I question whether or not the user was actually there when I first entered FC, even though the nickname appears on ForumHome and in FC, because your Most Ever Chatters hack (version 2.03) displays '1', even though FC shows me and the other user when I initially enter FC. If another user was truly in chat, and I enter, then that should obviously be 2. Any help on this is appreciated - hope that wasn't too confusing! Boss Quote:

It is exactly due to what I posted. If the last person in the chat does no log out correctly, then they will remain in the database (as above). Flashchat can only clean-up expired connections when something runs it's code - this only happens if someone else enters the chat - so in the case above, the last person did not log out correctly, and the stuck entry was not cleaned out until you entered [later].
This doesn't affect the Socket Server mode, but most people do not / cannot run that mode. |
That makes sense - thanks for the reply and hack.

Display Chatters!!!!! I've been scouring the FORUMHOME template for ages trying to find that little bugger. Might want to add that to the install instructions or somewhere more obvious than page 10 of this thread.
Great hack, thanks. Quote:
