Wow. As a new member to this board this lets me know that I will have to be real careful in chosing coders if I need one.

It seems like it would be more worth my time to learn how to do it all myself than to wait 6 months to see a code.

RedTyger 12-19-2006 07:41 PM

That's not at all true. Besides which it works both ways, customers have to deal with coders who don't deliver and coders have to deal with customers who don't pay. In fact from that perspective it's much more difficult for coders because customers don't have an obvious track record.

But you should definitely be careful, the sticky is there for a reason and it's clear that a good deal of people who get burned (not in this case) do so because they didn't read and pay attention to it. I've seen numerous cases of people hiring coders who are barely half-way through their teenage years, something I personally would never even consider.

But it's understandable to be very cautious, naturally.

well said redtyger..........

No thats unheard of. Someone registering a new user account and making their first post in defense of 'someone else'. Why would anyone think that?

MRGTB 12-19-2006 09:19 PM

So why quote me before and post "hmmm. IP check anyone?".

What was your logic behind that then?

ive been away for just over a week and seems like this is still not resolved.
Has been a few other threads where people are complaining about being ripped off but nothing is done.Mods/admins will not reply in threads unless its to tell people to keep on track - then they decided to close threads when they should be left open.

Anyone reading this post should know that vb.org does not care if u get ripped off,so long as u keep your complaints of their board they will be happy.
I throught this board was about helping members - now wheres the help in this thread when the guy clearly proved he was ripped off and all correspondant came from vb.org ??

We need feedback hack installed and ive seen quite a few people ask for it in a few threads but it just goes unanswered as usual.

Amazing, someone showing some common sense that would ensure some kind of protection against members who haven't got access to the knowledge of the known rippers that prowl on people who work hard for their money.

I had suggested a sticky list of proven rippers so members know what people not to hire.

Your right, they don't care but they like to reap the benfits in having a paid area.

well i gave tim another pointer today on IM to come around. He is still there on his site and messengers..lol
told him he has got nothing to gain by thinking that the thread will die down and he will make an entry back here in open. cos that won't and ain't happening.

MRGTB 12-22-2006 01:39 PM

Thing is though, it will die down eventually and be forgot about as just another post. And he knows that!
