My mistake - and for all those with issues - I had not uploaded the post_thanks.php file into the forums folder.

This instruction:
post_thanks.php -> \
must not have made sense to me at the time. I didn't understand what \ meant now I do!

I am having an issue as well. It installed fine and i can see the button in posts. When I click it, i get a blank pop-up box and the button disappears and leaves no Thank You.

most thanks gave list
average of earned thanks per post
etc...
