well hell, Who needs instruction! LMAO! j/k totally cannot wait for this.

Flow Fusion 11-19-2005 05:14 AM

I have the beta but no idea how to allow users to try it.

LEAD_WEIGHT 11-19-2005 06:26 AM

I hope the member's here give some change to MrZeropage paypal when it is done and clean or nearly clean of bugs. ;)

MrZeropage 11-19-2005 08:00 AM

@Flowfusion:
Which beta have you got, and where did you get it ?
**edit**
Ok, saw your Arcade - it's the original ibProArcade 2.5.1 containing illegal files from InvisionBoard, without AddOns and without the security- and bug-fixes.
What I am developing here is the improved version, just wait for it!

@LEADWEIGHT:
There is a Donation-Button included in the Installation-Instructions ;)

I am sure the GOLD-Version will be about 99% free of Bugs, that's why I did this extensive Betatest and did not release it before, as this should be a QUALITY RELEASE without major issues

4number8 11-19-2005 09:29 AM

Looking forward to it MrZeropage, been following this page very close from the beginning

ronoxQ 11-19-2005 02:19 PM

Well, I just found this forum. Thank God somebody's making it for version 3.5.

Just please say you're not going to be like stlmike was on ibproarcade-vb.com. There were five new topics a day asking for help, and mike either ignored them or banned them.

MrZeropage 11-19-2005 02:37 PM

Be sure that THIS community will help you, even me myself

Or randomly putting people in a miserable users usergroup just for kicks. :ermm: :tired:

Sychev_S 11-19-2005 04:41 PM

I apoligize, i am a little confused. Which one is better, IPB pro arcade or v3arcade? I am assuming those are two add ons that allow you to upload flash games on your web site and let users play. How much would IPB cost?

weaver 11-19-2005 04:47 PM

Both arcades will be free when they're released Gold. You can buy a $60 branding-free option at v3arcade which will allow you to download a beta copy of v3arcade now.

I have used both and find IBPro so much easier. So much so I want to send them and MrZeropage money.

The thing that is making me choose IBPro is the requirements that v3arcade will have to install games. You will need to allow there server to execute code on your server. Turn on allow_url_fopen on in the php.ini file. I don't view that as good.

If you are a hosting company with many sites, once you turn this feature on for your one site it becomes available to all the sites on your server.

You can use an .htaccess command to do this but it will allow anyone to execute code on you site.

There are only a few exploits out that will take advantage of this allow_url_fopen on feature. But if a whole Bunch of sites do turn it on it won't be long till more exploits follow.

IBPro seems the simplest and smartest choice. Not to mention it's ease to administrate.

I guess I ll wait for IBPro, I dont think my hosting will allow me to execute code. Its shared.
Thanks!

yeah that dont sound to good to allow them to connect...

It isn't good! Apart from the security risk with allow_url_fopen already mentioned, you'll be sanctioning the upload of something to your site and server that you don't know about. Presumably, all you do is select a game title and whammo, scripts are uploaded to your site. You won't have any idea what is being uploaded until after they're already uploaded. Too many security risks for me! There's safety in public releases because any exploits in the code will be quickly discovered and publicly reported.

ibProArcade will be *free*

Some technical difference is that ibProArcade is compatible to both v3arcade- and ibProArcade-Games and even to PNflashgames. Another thing is this new version comes along with alot of integrated feature like Tournaments (2,4,8 Players) and automatic Game-Installation for ibPro-TAR-Archives and v3-ZIP-Archives ect.

Just wait for the Release-Thread and its screenshots :D

I've been running a v3Arcade with over three hundred games. I'm interested in giving IBP pro a serious look. How many games can I get with IBP?

I know you're not charging for it, but I'd be very happy to make a donation, if I do go with your version.

There's anywhere from 1500 to 2000 games now for IBProArcade. ;)

admin0 11-19-2005 08:08 PM

I got words that I happen to be the very first person in history to donate for this specific project ;). This is because I am so satisfied even with the pre-gold. I am going to attempt to install around 500+ games tomorrow.
If you go back in the posts, there is a link from where you can download a single zip that contains around 1000 games. With Mass-Installer, it should not be an issue.

Maybe someone can point me to the archive of 2000+ and i might also try to be the first to install all of the games available.

:)

soniceffect 11-19-2005 08:17 PM

I was following v3 arcade untill quite a few posts into this thread, when I realised the differences and how huge they actually are. V3arcade to me is just too much of a 'closed' environment' that personally I think will go the same as the previous one. It will be released and then nothing will ever happen with it again. On top of this, you have to register on v3arcade site in order to download from the looks of the latest addition, which I would gladly do if someone asked me too, but don`t like things being 'requirement'.

Ibproarcade was free, is free, with no strings attached, no others connecting to your server, no sign on the dotted line, no pay to get rid of the branding (which in my opinion is pointless and disrespectfull to the coder anyway),and to be quite honest, is a more functional, userfriendly system. On top of this, the coder on here in comparison has been very 'down to earth', constantly updating his supporters in the project and enjoying it himself.

friendly 11-19-2005 08:42 PM

Im in! I love "down to earth."

Flow Fusion 11-19-2005 09:05 PM

Where can I get the beta version? Or can someone tell me how to allow members to play it?

admin0 11-19-2005 09:23 PM

Hey.

I just installed ibpro 1035 games (tar) in my arcade ;)
in one single click :)

that makes 9 default + 1035 = 1044 games in total.

Hope I will not lose the games when upgrading from pre-gold to the final release

Will keep you all updated !

friendly 11-19-2005 09:28 PM

whoa! that's awesome! how hard was it to install that many games admin0?

admin0 11-19-2005 09:58 PM

not that hard ..

took less than 5 minutes.

friendly 11-19-2005 10:33 PM

That's impressive. Thank you.

Does it put them in categories for you too? Sorry if I missed this somewhere.

Sooner95 11-20-2005 12:54 AM

i know you could "mass" select games for catagories.. not sure about during the mass install process..

Alfa166 11-20-2005 04:37 AM

I downloaded the file kindly hosted by someone earlier in this thread, it's a pretty huge file, I'm offering to host this file but would like to provide maximum amount of games around the same time as Mr Zero releases Gold, Not doing this for anything other than the fact Mr Zero's hard work deserves as much backup as we can all give him.

Can anyone provide us all with more games?

Here is the link to download the latest *.rar files I have the first one contains around 1140 games, the second has Yetisports Series 1-7 :nervous:, excuse my little plug for my forums, there's no obligation or popups simply download the files.

If anyone has a bigger selection please link it here I'll happily download and add to what I have there after will update the download location.

gothicuser 11-20-2005 04:55 AM

Been using ibproarcade since our boards WERE ibpro. We now (obviously) use vB and are still more than happy with our arcade.
Really looking forward to the release MrZeroPage, great work.

'Connecting to your server'? I read some of the post at that site, and anything that needs access to my sever to download games or what ever would seem to me as a backdoor gateway to your files? I could be wrong on this, then I will wait till vbulletin.org read through the code to see what it really does. I will not install the other one even if this was not slated to come out for another 6 months.

If you go and see some of the post, you will see some member's are just pist off of the false release date or the thought of paying money for Brand Free option which that is completly bogus to ever achieve. The games do come with logo's & url's to other sites.

I do not get why they did not learn from the first version that support and upgrades are little and far between.

I do make flash games, but never place a scoreboard or points system within it.

That is alot of games? I guess if you need that many games I hope it you catagorize them? That seems it will take a few days to do? I just be happy with a dozen or so?

I guess your right on the catagory subject, these are simply wrapped in a .rar file, I guess it's down to the forum admin to catagorize them and choose what they want, I'm merely hosting the rar to give people the opportunity to enhance their arcade, with all the work thats been carried out by Mr Zero it's the very least i can do to support the cause :smoke:

MrZeropage 11-20-2005 07:31 AM

Could anybody please make a small package for me and tell me via PM where to download them ?

I need one package of ~25 v3-arcade-Games (ZIP-Archive)
** received ** I need one package of ~25 ibPro-Games (TAR-Archive)

and I need two Games that result Scores with decimal places, e.g. 16,37 or something like that.

Thanks :)

Harry72 11-20-2005 07:38 AM
