Not unless you have absolutely huge numbers visiting every day.

This only runs on the forum homepage, no other pages.

As an example, we have 600+ per day and it barely makes the server flicker. Obviously the homepage increases in size to accomodate the user list (500 users adds about 30k to the page) - and it runs one simple sql select query (which takes 0.092 seconds on our main forum).

It should be okay then, sounds like. I have just at 700 per day. Usually around 110 active at the same time. Thanks, Paul. :D

I must be doing something stupid. It installed great, but I don't see a thing on forum home??? Anybody got any ideas?

Paul M 01-17-2006 04:06 PM

What is the url of your site ?

scoles15 01-17-2006 04:36 PM

<a href="http://www.ncwoodworker.net" target="_blank">http://www.ncwoodworker.net</a>

Paul M 01-17-2006 06:38 PM

You need to have the logged in users display turned on in order for this to display as well. You are actually the first person I have ever seen with this turned off. :)

scoles15 01-17-2006 07:02 PM

Thanks. The reason I had it turned off was becuase I have the same display using VBA CMPS and this seemed like an unecessary duplication. In fact I think I would like to try mod your mod so I can make it a CMPS module.

Good news then. There's already a CMPS module that actually make use of *this* plugin.

Paul M 01-17-2006 07:27 PM

Cool, would you like that linked in the main post ?

tgmorris 01-17-2006 07:30 PM

Sure thing. Thanks.

Quick question: Where do I go to edit out the collapse option, and the markup for the number of users online?

Eg:

Total users that have visited today: 215

The red (er, green?) text there. I've checked the templates, I'm just not seeing it.

Thanks. :)

Paul M 01-21-2006 06:19 PM

Display_Visitors is the template this uses.

92GreenGT 01-23-2006 06:47 AM

Ive got a weird problem. After I installed it I noticed I had two of them showing on my home. Where I used to have the text hack uploaded its like it saved the thing to put it on the forum home thing and now its adding another one. How can I take the one off that I hacked awhile back and just have one installed?

Snake 01-23-2006 06:51 AM

Paul, I would like to add a few more text (or content) right next to the "Most users ever online in one day was 4, Yesterday." phrase. How do I do? Edit the plugin or template codes?

Oreamnos 01-23-2006 08:34 AM

so easy! so cool! thanks!!!

Is threre a way to strip SECONDARY usergroup-based HTML markup from the list? (I want to keep primary group markup though).

If not, then I'd like to know how to strip all HTML markup altogether from the list.

vbreal 01-25-2006 10:55 PM

i am having the worst luck with products and plugins. i installed this one. set my prefernces in vb options. I got to be doing something wrong. i installed it it said it was done uploading all the templates. was i suposed to wait for the the thing to stop saying please wait. i waited like 30 minutes and it was still scrolling over to the right. it does that with all my product installs. so far nothing works.

Just set the members display group to their primary group - that's standard vb functionality.

mido 01-27-2006 12:09 AM

works Great

Thank's :)

But I have markup in the secondary groups I want to use in most places, just not in the who's visited box.

I know in most places I've seen, its a matter of changing an instance(s) of [musername] to [username], but I couldn't find where to do it here, which is why I asked.

Hmm, okay.

In the Members who have visited (2) hook, comment out these two lines

Code:

        $today['opentag'] = $today['opentagb'] ;
        $today['closetag'] = $today['closetagb'] ;

Possibly you have a corrupt XML file ?

Snake 01-27-2006 09:19 AM

Well you are the one who made it so how can it be corrupted?
