I try this one did not work for me and I unistall to try to start again but now I can delete the template create by gab .

However, edit advertising.php and search for sheader then change to header. Also in the same file, search for echo("turnd"); and delete it (not the line mind you, just the echo statement)

Redspider... Im not sure what you mean. Are you trying to delete the gab templates? Try the uninstall steps of the installer.

yes I trying to delete the gab templates to start all over and I use the installer but dont work the template still there and i cant make this mod work for some reason .
if you got time to come and check let me know and I pm you domain and a password so you can see it.

red- im on vacation so I cant really help too much. Can you explain what the trouble is? 99.9% of the time... its a simple configuration error. Can you go to your admincp, click settings and then debug? If so, can you post me the info? Ill be able to sort you out then.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. Basically, I want the text ad to rotate in with various image/flash banners -- is this possible?

Also, the CHMOD issue causes the banner to throw an "access restricted at server level/config" error, which results in a broken image when viewing the image inline in the page. When accessing the image/banner directly, you get the "access restricted" error. I am manually changing the permissions on the file to 644.

Ah - currently no. I thought about it bust passed as I didnt think many would really request it but you are now the second person to do so. Ill look at putting that in a future release.

Offhand, it sounds like the chmod problem is possibly a safe mode problem. Ill look at putting in the option to just put in the URL however you will still need to FTP files into place. :(

went from version 1.3 to v1.6 and got the following error:

Couldn't figure a way out so uninstalled the packge...any ideas???

My guess is that your file edits were done twice... double check the global.php file changes.

Hey Geek, sorry. I got tied up with some other issues and didnt have time to resolve my banner issue. From within my adminCP I am able to see my navigation but where presumably the system would be I just get an all white page. Like there is nothing there. If I was to go to the GAB_index.php page, I would just get a complete WHITE screen.

There are only 3 files to edit and I edited them manually several times with the same results. Has there been a better solution to this problem, I would really like to have this on my site. I think you have some cool scripts and this would be my 3rd from you.

try downloading the latest version and then uploading the files replacing the existing ones. Chances are that its a bad upload.

Geek: I loved your Article hack (still tweaking it) and I needed an ad management system so I came back to you. Had to manual install again which was no problem, however, I seemed to have followed all your suggestions in the readme and checks in the templates but I can not get an Ad to appear either in Banner edit in AdminCP or on my forums index. $GAB_ads[0] is in the navbar.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I will PM you my adminCP details in case you are able to take a look yourself.

sorted. Im only posting this as an FYI for anyone else having problems:

Please make sure that the path to the gab folder (in your settings) is relative and not absolute.
Please also make sure that the categories the ad is in is set to the correct type (ie flash banners in flash categories, etc...)
These are easy things to mix up and can cause frustration if not done right :)

I am just wondering if it is possible to easily get this mod to allow rotating banners in the forums as well as in the header, footer etc.. Can we easily add alternate rotating banners that will only be shown in certain forums???

If not I would like to see if this can be done fairly easily? Otherwise I am stuck with 2 rotation scripts runing at the same time...

Could you give a rough estimate, like say a month, a year, a week, or whatever it might be? I would really like to use this and I'm hoping 3.5.x will go GOLD soon =)

well i removed the slash and it still tells me the same thing just now that extra slash dont show up.

Should be reading gab/images/0/etc... I think your paths are squwompus.

It will most likely be two to three weeks for gas. I still have a good week to get my advertising system done for my site and then ill spend all my time on GAS. The majority of the hard stuff is done - however its a mamouth mack and that makes it very hard to guage how its going to come along. Regardless... Its one of the key things that will prevent me from upgrading and Im very keen to upgrade asap so rest assured its a very high priority.

Alright, everything shows up, but when I dont set a url for advertising the want to advertise with us still shows up.

when I set cycle rate it still cycles at default setting

when you click on banner it doesn't take you to the url.

and probably a dumb question do I have to make a redirect page or is there one I don't know about?

Other than those this is a great set up for banner rotation.

They are coming along quite nicely however I have several major projects that are currently open and in beta stages for 3.5 that are taking a slightly higher priority. Ill see if I can get some time to look into it this weekend - however I dont think it will be released here... Then again... huh... maybe I will. Actually, its not a bad idea.
