Ahhh, I thought you could not see his site. Well you need to be a member to see the raffles, then you will see the raffles link it the community dropdown, http://snogssite.com/raffles.php

Oh I see. That makes sense. I did not even think of that. I just thought it was a demo so I would not need to reg but I will reg and will check it out.

Thanks Ozzy!

Getting white screen when trying to view in default mobile style

That would be correct. The raffle system does not work with the mobile style.

It should not even be showing any information for the raffle in the mobile style.

I know this mod isn't supported anymore, so I'm hoping someone that has it installed can help.

I have the mod up and running and am trying to use it with vBCredits. The setup appears to be correct as it finds the right data as it'll show how many credits people have when they attempt to purchase a ticket.

However the problem is, it's not deducting the credits at all. So basically everything is free.

I've checked the vBCredits logs and there's no entry for any deductions at all. I've run the scheduled tasks, etc. Nothing at all.

So, hopefully someone out there has an idea of what might be happening.

Thanks for any help!

Trek 08-23-2014 04:53 AM

Ok, after this I was digging in the code and figured it out.

Incase anyone else has a similar issue:

I'm using another currency than the default currency in vBCredits.

I had to credit another event "Adjust" for the currency I use for the raffles. Once I did that, it worked perfectly.

Nobody ever said this add-on is not supported anymore.

No offense was meant. I just wanted "you" to know that I wasn't expecting support.

Well, unless something has changed in vBCredits, you should have been able to select which currency to use in the Raffle Settings.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1408815708

If it's not deducting credits, then either something has changed in vBCredits or I need to look into why it's not deducting them.

EDIT: I just checked with the version I have (version 2.1.0) and credits are being deducted for raffles using a custom currency. And it is being logged in the vBCredits log.

Trek 08-23-2014 04:54 PM

Yes, if you're using the default currency type, there is no issue and it works exactly as you said.

However, if you switch to another currency type from the default (aka create another new currency), there are no events for it. So there is no "Adjust" event and the credits can't be adjusted until that event is created for that new currency.

This isn't a problem with your mod, or even vBCredits. But if someone does the same thing (creates a new currency), they'll need to add a new Adjust event, which is why I posted how to make it work here.

I see what you're saying. You didn't have an adjust action for your custom currency in vBCredits.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. :)

What phrase do I have to edit to change the PM that the system sends out? I can't seem to find which one it is

Edit: Found it (I think) raffle_message_body

There are 3 phrases used..
raffle_message_salute
raffle_message_body
raffle_message_close

I couldn't see it in the info. But is there a way to have it so a member can enter once for no charge?

Looking to see if this would be suitable for a standard competition manager.

There is no charge for any raffle unless you're using a credit system. And you can set the number of times a member can enter a raffle.

But if you're using a credit system, you can't both charge for a raffle and have free entries. It's one or the other.

Would you consider adding the option for reoccurring raffles on set times in the ACP?

OK thanks for the reply. Maybe at some point in the future. Great mod BTW.

IS there a way to close the raffle once X number of people have entered? I want to use this for very high priced items between £400-£1,200 so I need say 40 entries at £10 for a £400 item.

No there isn't.

You would have to manually end the raffle either by changing the draw date or drawing it in the ACP.

For those that think this add-on is no longer supported, or updated you are wrong.

It is being supported and any updates needed for vB4.x will be done.

I see that this has already been debated, but the cost of tickets does not get deducted from members credits when buying tickets?

vb version = 4.2.0 plus latest version of this mod ..

Thanks ..

What credit system are you using?

If it's DBTech's credit system, make sure you have an 'Adjust' action defined in 'Activity Amounts Configuration' for the currency you're using and that you've selected the correct currency in the Raffle system setting 'vBCredits Currency'.

If it's any other credit system, make sure you've selected 'Use Other Credit System' and put the correct values in for 'Other Credit System Table' and 'Other Credit System Field' in the Raffle system setting.

Hi, sorry for the silly question but I searched around and could not find an answer.
The install instructions mention a file called product-raffles.xml but this file is not in the download zip package. There are three other xml files there.
Can anyone help?

I would like to suggest a feature if possible. This feature should check if multiple members with the same IP adress have participated in the same raffle.

qpurser 08-06-2015 11:10 AM

Just installed your Mod and really like it. Got it to work with vbCreditII.

Just struggling with allowing users to enter multiple tickets at once.
In the Raffle settings I have set:
Maximum entries : 1000
Time between: 10 seconds (I tried also the 0 setting)
Entries in time period: 1000

Test user has 4 points
Now when this user wants to enter and puts 3 in the box (see image attached) he gets the error "You can not enter this raffle that many times"

Any ideas what could be wrong?
Thanks for any help

Update posted to fix the error.

There is one thing that is bothering me though. If you have an entry limit, you should see this when entering the raffle...
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1438873363

Note the 'You may enter up to X more times.' in the screenshot.

qpurser 08-06-2015 01:26 PM

Thanks for the super quick reply. Really appreciate it.
I downloaded the fix.
Uploaded all files again and imported the xml (set to overwrite).
I started a new raffle but it still shows the same errors (you can not enter this raffle that may times.)
I don't have the "You may enter up to x times" either.
Also cleared the system cache

Go to ACP->Raffles->Edit Raffles and click on the raffle name. Take a screenshot of the screen and post it here.
