Disco_Stu 08-03-2012 04:22 AM

I just realized that this mod is not using the user group HTML markup. The markups are showing up in the forums, users online, posts, etc. but not for the link directory.

Any chance of getting a fix for this or do I need to change the templates?

Update

Never mind. I did a quick code change and that did the trick.

Disco_Stu 08-04-2012 12:56 AM

I would be happy to post my change if the mod author approves.

From what it says as being not supported any more, I think it would be safe to post it. If the maker doesnt support but the community does, then post the all the changes

Using the fixes and such posted here, I got this installed and it seems to be working well so far on vb 4.2.

DaChief 11-21-2012 04:49 PM

Which I have to download?
vblinkdirectory105.zip
or
vblinkdirectory105vb415.zip

I have vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 3

DaChief 11-21-2012 05:49 PM

I can confirm, it is working with 4.2.0 P3.

You just have to replace all occurrences of:
TYPE=MyISAM
with:
ENGINE=MyISAM

And:
<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.8" maxversion="4.2.0 Alpha 1" />
with
<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.8" maxversion="4.3.0 Alpha 1" />

Actually "4.3.0 Alpha 1" is wrong, I know, but I don't know better.

[EDIT]
German translation are included, but how do I install them?

sedem77 11-24-2012 07:23 PM

Hi,

I'm using products since one year and I'm very happy with it but I have now a problem with Thumbnails.
I'm using artiviper but since a few weeks (may be more), thumbnails are not generated.
Did you have an idea ?

One more things, is it possible to add a link directly on main part of the program.
Users are not happy to choose a category before enter their links.

Thanks

bpi007 12-16-2012 10:00 PM

Which Thumbnails generator do you use ?

Hello all,

I am running an older version without issues on vb 4.1.1 but have just upgraded to vb 4.2 on my test site and want to upgrade to the latest version of this software, do I just overwrite the vblinklist.php file in the forum root is it that simple.

Anyone know how I could remove the created by and create at titles and info from the individual categories pages and also from the individual entries

I would also like to remove the "whats going" on from the main page any ideas

All entries are done by admin so I really don"t need this displayed

Now i had the same errors before i added the suggested mods, regarding the error Invalid User Specified Before i upgraded to 4.2.0 i had no issues and i still have all the relevant permissions in place. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Go to Nav Manager under settings. Click on Forum to open that menu. Uncheck "active" on the item you do not want to show. Clear your cache and it will be gone. "What's going on" should be under forum. Any other sub items, go the the section as indicated by the top level menu.

Hi vossi.
In vb Germany there is vblinklist106vb4110.zip .
Why it isn't here??

ti6 02-15-2013 01:12 PM

Just a question. If i want to add a link - there are fields like "Title", "Link-Url", "Banner" etc. How can i add there a custome field? For Example that u can put after "Title" a field named "Sub-Title".
Is this possible?

vimarc 02-16-2013 11:36 AM

It is not working with 4.2.0

In product-vblinklist.xml

Find:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.8" maxversion="4.2.0 Alpha 1" />

Replace with:
PHP Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.8" maxversion="" />

Lets me know if it worked out, since iam not a programmer. ;)

Check you've uploaded all the files to the correct directories, that error is telling you a file isn't where it's expected to be.

Works 100% on 4.2 patch 3 with this tweak

I've been using thumbshots.com as the thumbnail generator, but they recently changed their code so now this mod is not creating thumbs. Should I just change generators or is their a way to modify the mod to work with thumbshots.com's new code?

bpi007 03-27-2013 10:01 PM

Hello,

Did you have a module for VBa CMPS to display latest links added ?

Thanks ;)

OK,

Installed and configured on 4.2 (Thanks for the hints) However....

When I enter the "Code" I want to use for the "Link to Us" it shows as a link under a blank text entry box. There's nothing to copy and paste. Am I missing something? (Image 1)

[S]When I enter a description for a link, only 100 characters are saved in the post, everything else is deleted.... (Image 2)[/S] Fixed, seemd to only happen with the FIRST link, added a second and no issue.

And the banners don't seem to work. Although this may be me as I am hosting the banners on a separate server...

Found another, "Comments" are enabled, however there's no place for a user to enter comments :( (Image attached)

For reference if it helps....

Installed MOD Version "vblinkdirectory105vb415"

On

vBulletin Version 4.2.0 Patch Level 3
Server Type Linux
Web Server Apache v2.2.22
PHP 5.3.15

Google Translate:

I have also so far made to run. (vB 4.2.0 Patch 3) and (Vb Link Directory 1.0.5)

But there are still 2 "problems"

1. After the entry, you will get the message:

"Could not find phrase 'no_moderated_entry'."

- Add New Phrase? I have not done ...

2. "Edit comment" does not work.
The edit field is blank.

ScratchMang 04-16-2013 07:13 PM

I'm thinking this MOD is dead in the water :(

Pity as it fit's a need really well. I have managed to sort out some of the issues as stated in my last post, but as far as replying or adding comments, that's still a no go.

It's useful for the most part, I can add links and what have you, but missing the rest of the functionality is a bit of a bummer.

Hopefully the Coder will return and help us out, or at the very least allow those who can improve upon it do so.

After I read your post I enabled comments on my test site to see if they worked. They worked fine but with one little annoyance, some of the comments had nbsp; at the end of the text.

Thumbnails worked ok. Didn't test anything else.

A nice mod, but needs updating.

Members favourites would be a good idea, content blocks for the cms, new links, most visited, featured site etc etc

"Add a new Comment" works.

Have you try to "edit the comment" ? I get a blank Field. :confused:

Hey EkSeS,

I don't even have a place to enter the comment itself. Check the Third image from my previous post, the "Header" to leave a comment is there, but there's no text entry box to actually leave a comment, very strange. I tried with the Default Theme / Skin just to be sure and it's the same result, no Text Entry box to leave a comment in. Worst part is there's a Button to "Leave Comment" and if you click on it you get a message telling you the comment is to short. I find it quite amusing to be honest.

Have you activated the comments option? You need to go to the vBulletinLinkDirectory tab on the admin control panel and select "COMMENTS". Then on the next panel at the top you will see an option to Activate Comments. If you select Yes then when you click on a link you should see a comment entry box below the contents of the link.

I use the mod for my music lib. Take a look at the screen print and you will see the comment box below the link content that is displayed after I click on the link.

Hope this helps

I verified both of those setting and they are correct.

Still no box to add in a "Comment" but the "Title Bar" asking if you want to leave one is present as well as the button to submit one... (See Image)

Not certain what to do from here.

Damn Odd.....
