Hi Gemma I have a specific issue with permission and wondering if you may be able to give me a work around.

I have custom usergroups set up for things like rosters and a mentor system. I have to have members in the mentor usergroup set as "primary users". I only allow, for the time being, premium members access to the arcade and all premium members are set as "additional users".

These permission settings work well except for the "primary users" of any custom usergroups. The permissions get overriden by the custom usergroup even though the permium is set as an additional user. This works fine with vbulletins default usergroups however.

In "Usergroup Manager" you have default usergroups and custom usergroups.
Basically if someone is a primary user of a default usergroup with premium as their additional they have access to the arcade but if they are a primary user of a custom usergroup with premium as their additional they do not have access. The permissions are not recognized.

For example; Joe Blow signs up to the site and is now a "registered user" he purchases a premium membership and "permium" is added as an additional user. He now has access to the arcade. But if he is moved to Senior NCM as his primary but still has premium as additional he no longer has permission and gets an error.

I decided to get this Arcade over the other one and I'm liking it.

I'm just curious how to change the inactive tab backgrounds for the game categories? Currently the inactive are 100% transparent. I usually use a very dark but transparent image for inactive and a lighter transparent image for active. The active tab is currently using the inactive background.

But I can't find though the admincp > style manager > search in templates where this info is taken from. And looking at the code with Firebug it mentions html. Is this hard-coded in the XML file and not controlled by a CSS?

Try check the vbulletin.css template for /* LIGHT-TABS */

Try changing the stylevar tabslight_selected_background - not sure if that will help you with what you are trying to do though because the tabs for the arcade and MEMBERINFO use the same css.

To get around it, you may need to rename the tabslight class in the v3ARCADE_MAIN, make a copy of the code in vbulletin.css that I mentioned then rename the instances of tabslight to whatever you call the new class in v3ARCADE_MAIN - for example if you renamed the class as <dl class="arcade_tabslight">, you would make an exact copy of the code under /* LIGHT-TABS */ in vbulletin.css but change all the tabslight to arcade_tabslight.

It did move it but put it above the avatar instead.

Sorry CharlieDelta I haven't. Been dealing with some personal stuff and now got to rest up for a few months. :(

All I can suggest is posting on v3arcade.com and one of the developers should be able to help you - it shouldn't take any more than adding some OR statements to conditionals in the arcade.php file.

But I saw that the directory Arcade is identical for both, you can use another installation directory?

I actually had all 3 arcades running at one point on a test site but there were too many clashes. So I stuck with the one I deem to be the best ;)

You can run both IPBA and v3A together but you would need to make files changes to either the IPBA files or the v3A files; changing reference to arcade.php and /arcade/ to something else - most people changing the IPBA files would change all references to ibproarcade.php and /ibproarcade/ (if I remember correctly if you are editing the v3A files you only need to change references to arcade.php to something like v3arcade.php and can leave the folder as /arcade/)

Even then you might run into problems.

The arcade folder for v3A is only used to store gamedata folders from IPB type games.

You guys really need to have the edit code for the index file included in the download of the arcade. v3arcade is closed now so I cant get the code to do the edit to get the scores to submit so I am not able to upgrade my forum.

I've just upgraded from 4.1.3 to 4.1.10 and none of the game icons/descriptions are loading on the arcade page. Is there something I'm missing?

Upgrading your forum software shouldn't have any effect on the arcade as the only file that may need to be edited is your index.php file

:confused: That post was something about IPB importing.

I need the edit code for the index file for CMS so that my scores will submit. What I said was, include that in the file that comes with the download of the arcade. Add the code to the readme file. Now, I cannot upgrade my forum to 4.1.10 because v3arcade site is down and I cant get to the code to do the edit on the index file. If that code was on the readme file I would be good to go.

I agree the instructions do need changed but there is nothing I can do about that - at least you found the edit in the end

Okay I have an issue with our test forum running the files just fine, however our primary forums are having two issues with the ipb games i installed. one of the games gives a blank screen on score save, the other doesn't load, it stalls.

I don't understand all it is, is a copied folder. I have done extensive research, added the compat file above the content.php line in index.php. CHmodded a ton of folders and still no luck. The shortnames are also correct.

An .htaccess file on the server that was for another arcade, it was pointing the game loads to a different location. I guess the original admin moved some things around.
