i can see instant email notification being complained about on high volume boards... might it be possible to have an hourly or daily digest instead?

That's correct, it obeys the "Receive emails from administrators" and "Receive emails from other users" setting as it should :)

That would subvert the purpose of the notifications, which is to be instant in order to quickly carry on a conversation :)

It's got nothing to do with your name, it's the ?. I've made some internal changes to my code that will correct this in the upcoming Beta 5.

seems to work..

I was thinking the extra ' in the error was something to do with it..

Thankyou, these variable names are what I was looking for!

However, I have encountered a second problem... the button notifying of new tags works, and links to "{vb:link member, {vb:raw bbuserinfo}}?tab=mentions" which goes to the intended page showing mentions... however, viewing that page doesn't reset the counters for the conditionals above to zero as it does when using the dropdown notifications menu on the full forum (so it will always show the alert for new notifications even when they've been viewed, unless the user returns to full forum mode and views them that way).

Is there something I need to include, either in the link or the page linked to, to reset the counters to zero?

well, while i love the feature, i'm getting complaints about the volume of individual notifications. a digest option would be a really good extra.... one that included a list of mentions, quotes & thanks received would be even better...

First of all, thank you for this great modification.

One question though. Is there any posibility to implement an auto complete feature? Or is this feature already included in the pro version?

The latest Beta version includes a change to the notification dropdown which should correct this :)

Any chance of getting pictures tagged in the next version. Even if only Pro, that would be worth paying for as it would transform the possibilities of forums.

I have the latest version installed. Tagged a user in a new thread. Logged into the users account, they had the notification.

But when I clicked on it, it to took me to their profile page on the mentions tab which said 'no mentions'...?

DB I have upgraded to the latest version, but yet it is still not sending @'s properly when someone is mentioned in a new post.

It sends them the notification, but when the notification is click on it doesn't show on the profile page. However when @ tagging in reply to a post it works fine..

I searched through the thread and although I saw we cannot remove the mentions etc on the profile - what about in the posts?

How do we remove the mentioned and tag counts on those? Or can we? I did not see it offered in lite or pro version

The integration is the statistics page, the results there can be cached.

I am unable to replicate this issue, please ensure that the files have been uploaded correctly and the product has been updated correctly.

To check the latter, you should see "Insert Post Mentions" and "Insert Threads Mentions" as separate plugins under this mod.

It's impossible for the mod to send notification but not change post unless not all plugins were updated properly.

Yep I see them as seperate.

However it still isn't working when I tag a user when creating a new thread.

See the images. I just tagged that user after upgrading again, logged into the users account. They have the mention notification but when clicked it takes you their profile, but doesn't show the mention.

Yes they can. I have been creating threads all over the forum tagging this normal registered user in the very first post/thread.

they get the notification but it doesn't show up on their profile!!!!!!

when tagging @ in replies, it is fine!

"Can View Forum" and "Can View Threads" are required to view mentions from a specific forum.

Can you try mentioning them in a forum where they have all the normal permissions?


PS: The amount of exclamation marks are insufficient to satisfy my personal interests. :p

You can enable manual postbit deployment, and then simply not paste it anywhere in the templates.
