BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 01:48 AM

Aargh. Any clues?

TriMe 06-25-2008 01:55 AM

Can u elaborate?

BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 01:59 AM

I installed your xml. Now when I go to http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/profi...?do=invitation i get a YOU DON'T HAVE PERMISSIONS error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have triple checked the usergroups in the admincp.

Thank you, TriMe...

How can we edit this body of text? I finally got to see the invitation and would love to edit and add some personal notations:

Look into your invitation options in admincp--options

BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 01:59 AM

It was working before. I also tried reinstalling the original version.

User Registration Options- Allow New User Registrations set to yes?

Invitation System Options- Disable Normal Registration Methods, yes ?

Enable the "Invitation System", yes?

BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 02:13 AM

BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 04:32 PM

well it's definately your version that scrwed it up. i installed the original and it's fine again....tho i still get those 50 errors messages i posted above.

okhissabigfish 06-25-2008 05:00 PM

BigSoccer Tech.,

Is the Invite Mod the first mod you've installed to an "out of the box" version of vBull? Cause if you've got other mods...they may have an effect on each other.

:)

okhissabigfish 06-25-2008 05:02 PM

BigSoc, by the way...you got a great website! Nice!

BigSoccer Tech. 06-25-2008 05:24 PM

Certainly not our first mod, we typically role our own, and yes we have some other mods. The biggest conflicts are usually caused by our master slave config.

blind-eddie 06-25-2008 08:09 PM

Very nice, This can be used for many items. Thank you for this addon.

Thanks Leo... took me forever.

Mail still goes to bulk hotmail... but at least it goes through. Yahoo goes to inbox from what I've heard from users.

Installed. :) Can't wait to get the word out to my users.

WiseOne38221 06-29-2008 02:50 PM

Can You allow MULTIPLE e-mails to be sent at once, or just one at a time?

TriMe 06-29-2008 03:01 PM

I'm pretty sure just one. A few months ago when there was supposed to be a 'next' version they were going to add that feature..

Qwest 06-30-2008 04:56 PM

Would really like multiple emails version.

People aren't gonna waste time sending one invite per person unless your forum is a closed forum.

GigaSb 07-01-2008 05:17 PM

Put this in your navbar template where you want it to go. Don't forget to edit the code with your domain, shown in bold.
*** Note that this will only show to members, not guests.***

Code:

<!-- Invites Left --!>

<if condition="$show['member']">
                        <td class="vbmenu_control"><a
href="http://YOURDOMAIN.com/profile.php?do=invitation">Invites Left: $bbuserinfo[invitation]</a>
                </if>

<!-- Invites Left --!>

Hope this helps.

TriMe

Has anyone found a solution to this?

C138 Kaysone 07-02-2008 05:13 AM

Thats nice, but how do you add more email boxes so you can send more then one email out? or is there a way to import?

jesus likes pie 07-02-2008 07:51 PM

How can you control how many invitations people get? (Per usergroup?)
edit: and does it "regenerate"? (Like it gives another 2 every week or something)

Simasher 07-03-2008 04:23 PM

thanks for this but it's need to some add-onns...

I've the same problem. I will wait a patch before to re-install this hack.

jesus likes pie 07-09-2008 04:50 PM

I don't delete members so that's no biggie for me. However, this is somewhat of a critical bug as well:

If you have the forums be invite-only:

Going to a user who is in the waiting email confirmation usergroup, sending them the activation code again (It's an option obviously) will redirect you to register.php?do=requestemail&email=...

but it will give you the message about your invitation key being invalid or whatnot.

Perhaps disable the ivnitation key check when do=requestemail?

TriMe 07-09-2008 05:05 PM

Good Idea, but I don't think this hack is supported anymore =/

TFEX 07-13-2008 08:22 PM

Haven't put it to use yet on the boards, but it's there and ready. Installed :)

gpc10347 07-14-2008 12:59 AM

Not that anyone asks me but ; )

...after fighting with CMPS, I opted to prefix profile.php with $vboptions[bburl]/ and it works well (for me and vbAdvanced)

Code:

<if condition="$vbulletin->options['invitation_usercp_link']">
<tr>
<td class="$navclass[invitation]" nowrap="nowrap">
<a class="smallfont" href="$vboptions[bburl]/profile.php?$session[sessionurl]do=invitation">$vbphrase[invitation]</a>
</td>
</tr>
</if>

Code:

vbmail($invitation_email, $subject, $message, true, $vbulletin->GPC['email'], '', $vbulletin->userinfo['username']);
To This:
Code:

vbmail($invitation_email, $subject, $message, true, $vbulletin->options['webmasteremail'], '', $vbulletin->userinfo['username']);
It turns the senders email header to that of the webmaster (AdminCP-vBulletin Options-Site Name / URL / Contact Details-Webmaster's Email)

Previously the header included the recipients email which is the reason yahoo/hotmail was blocking.

I also added my webmaster's smtp settings in the email options, turned on SMPT and Enabled the '-f' Parameter in AdminCP-vBulletin Options-Email Options

Cheers

(come back Hasann, we miss you)

It wasn't working for me, then I installed your version and it's working fine. Thanks a lot :)

flipstyle 07-16-2008 08:33 PM

Alfa1 07-17-2008 05:31 PM

Yes, many people have been having this problem. The fix is in this thread.

winpro19 07-18-2008 03:00 AM

Getting same error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /mysite.co.uk/includes/class_dm_user.php(2243) : eval()'d code on line 14
