How does the promotion system of this mod work?

Could you please add the following functions:

1. I'd like to block certain members from promotions if they have infractions are active or that have expired within the last X amount of months.
2. The option to reward members that use the reputation system (i.e. rate both positive and negative)
3. The functionality to identify the member with most experience in a specific forum? It would be awesome to easily identify the main members of a specific forum.
4. The option to reward members that report bad posts to staff.

Yes, in it's current version only postings are counted towards the activity. It is planned to span that over all monitored xperiences, but this will come in the next major version.

If your database host has limited the queries than there is no other possibility than starting counter manually. Keep in mind that you need to recount only at the first time!
Starting manually you should take this URL:
http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/admincp/mi...STARTAT&pp=100
Replace RESTARTAT with f.e. 1000, so it calculates all users from userid 1000.


If a member reaches a defined amount of points he get's promoted... Ok, what did you expect should I say? :)

This is defined via Excel-Sheet, or if you don't have Excel via level product.

There you have defined "xperience_points", "xperience_level" and "usergroupid". By reaching defined xperience_points the user get's xperience_level, and if defined the user is changeing to new usergroup.

In next major version this will be done via AdminCP.

I do not understand what you mean with 'if you defined a user for reports'. Do you mean if the admin has excluded users or usergroups from the stats? Please explain.

You can define a User in AdminCP. Reported posts are made with this user.

Ah I see. That is only if the reports are then posted in a forum. I do not know if this is relevant, but that hack lists the members that report, but not the account that posts the threads.

The hack does only work if the Admin of a board did not enter a generic username for reports.

Phalynx thx for your answer with how to pick up a manual count after a specific user...is it possible to define a rang of users. Example to manually count say users 1-2000....then go back a few mins later and count from 2000-4000 and so on? If so it would be great if not thats ok I can let it hack out and then when I gain access again I can pick up from where it left out

update I tried your link changing only my domain name and the last number...and it started with 1 in its count...will it do this but actually begin with the userid I specified or did I mess something up...

Hi great mod I have installed this on my site and thought was very great adn easy install. But I dont have the blue bar when looking at posts and the images dont show up in the profile. It shows up in the rest of the site ok?

How do i edit it from saying vbexperience to something like Point Leaders in the navbar?

You have to change "RESTARTAT", not "pp"
With "pp=" you can define "per page". Lower this to f.e. 100
You can begin with "startat" and cancel the process. As vBExperience writes all data per user, you can cancel the maintainance at every time.

The images don't seem to be working, my points are 100% and yet it is only showing like 5% or something and all my members are the same...

What are your settings for max level in AdminCP/vBExperience?

Are you sure you have unmodified vBExperience templates? Please check that.

You see a member has no avatar, and the default "?" one shows all right. The URL your hack uses to one of the other awards is:

While it should be:

customavatars/avatar386_2.gif

Only the "2" missing!


EDIT: Another weird think I've noticed, in the blog section, I've seen some members that have the following:

* vBulletin Blog: 138

How does that point get lost? :S

Hope you don't mind, but I did a quick edit in xperience.php and now my avatars are showing. The edit I did is so it always uses "fetch_avatar_url" to get the url of the avatars. The comment in your code says it uses that function only for compatibility with 3.6.x, but it also works just fine for 3.7, apparently. So the problem must be in fetch_avatar_from_userinfo? Shall we report to the devs?

Just upgraded and it's looking good, apart from a few strange things.

I had the awards on my own profile before upgrading, but since upgrading, my own awards have gone. A few other members have kept theirs, yet I'm a higher poster than them and have 100% Activity and no awards.

I had that too! (see above). I could solve it editing the file, but I'm not sure if Phalynx would be cool with that.

I just installed and i enabled the promotion system but it didn't change anything, Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Okay i worked that out but now everyone is registered users,.. Where can i see what the promotions are?
