does that with mine too. If you move the box using your mouse, it leave's the item that was blocking the reply box........and you can send your message.

it's under the navbar, but that line i have to find is not in the navbar template

I found it in common templates in the header include, i couldnt find it in the navbar template either but it was in the coomon area. HTH!!

I do have my own issues though, some of my members cannot send pagers or receive them. They are in usergroups that are enabled, they have all the right permissions, they just cannot do it and they never receive any either.. is this a known bug or something on my end??

I have a problem with this on my forum, and i think its a problem maybe with IE6, i as admin cannot sens a pager, screen comes up but when i try to type in the screen the first letter i press deletes straight away so i cannot send messages, so i reported this problem on my forum and i recieved messages from other members, the one difference is they are using different browsers

You may have set you character amount for admin to 0

This is not good you need to actually put in an amount there else you get the issue you have stated!!

Why not use flash and sockets for actual "INSTANT" messaging?
AJAX constant requests for a php page with a lot of members online would suck ass for the server.

Can this be made to work off the same principle you have in the send message and the pager buddy list where it is open in one single popup window when you click page user it pops up in a new window I am finding that my IE crashes on me when I have multi pages on my site open and I get the pager msg on say 2-4 pages at once not to mention what it does to server load when this happens with several ppl who have several pages open at once when recieving a page..

I think if this could be made to pop open in a new window and show your message and option to reply it might work better than having it embedded in the page I know it was done on the pager buddie list, message list, send new page etc so can it be done to pop up when you have a new message and show the message in a new lil window..more important in 1 window instead of 3,4,5 or how many you happen to have open with your url..

any ideas yet as to why this may be happening. IT shows they have messages in the field up to the right, but they cannot read them nor do they pop up. They have pop ups enabled for the site and still nothing. Also we have the same issue with some pages taking a whole day to show to the receiver.

^You can try this check list. I tried it, and it didnt work. Gave uae an admin acount he tells me to upgrade to the latest version and prune everyone's pages. Some members still have the same problem as you.

One thing I've found is that users must put www in front of the site addy when they navigate to the site (as I have it defined in the CP) or it won't work for them.

Then delete the WWW from the Admin CP setting. ;)

This is something that I'm getting asked a lot for too. People want to have the ability to turn the save off. The ones who use it a lot are getting pretty annoyed with having to delete them out several times a day when they don't want them in the first place.

And then the people who do put it in can't use it. ;) Tried that!

Exactly, there is no need to do it so all they do is click the pager links. Why wouldnt you make the process click and page rather then click, add WWW and then page?

Perhaps but this is not going to affect the board, so why not do it and make this hack easier to use?

I am using FireFox 1.5 and oddly I noticed that upon recieving pages a pop up bad showed up telling me I was missing required plug ins. I clicked to see what plug ins I needed for firefox and I see it directed me to Apple Quicktime.

I am not sure what this means but I hope it helps.

I found a little mistake:

This is not really correct, since it sets the Maximum Characters to 0 (every Character you type in gets deleted again).

When someone comes to the board in general is when they have the problem.

Some people type www.mysite.com to get to the board, some people type mysite.com. Just difference of personal preference.

If the setting in the Admin CP is www.mysite.com/forum, then those that go to mysite.com/forum can't use the pager. And if the setting is mysite.com/forum, then those that go to www.mysite.com/forum can't use the pager.

Is this making sense? I mean...that's just a semantics issue. And it seems like users do things differently, and this in a way punishes them for not doing it the "right" way.

What's the status on the Secondary Group inheritance?

This is the fix for the unread message problem. The problem I ran into is that when I did the template search it found the wrong spot in the template and I didn't watch to see it was wrong. This should be place at the very bottom of the footer template.

When your in the forums and click on a users name, you get a drop-down menu with options like "view users threads, views their profile", etc. How can I add the Pager as an option to that list? This way I don't have to click their name, go to their profile, click on send a Page message.

Also, how can add a Pager message option to the Who's Online menu under the Instant Message section?

This seems like a very nice hack, I ain't gonna use it though since my community isn't too big yet. But I'll consider it for the future! :)
