The Geek 09-08-2004 03:08 PM

Just bought a Platinum version yesterday and am about to download this integration as it looks pretty sweet.

I was just wondering though... Couldnt the next version allow us to pass a userid along with the login info? That way, you could:
Be able to bring up users profiles from the chat menu (even PM or email) by appending the sites URL member page if integration is enabled.
You could also call a script on the forums web site when users login and logout (i.e. http://www.mydomain.com/forum/chat_s...uid=1&do=login). Even better, you could post an array of all the user id's that are chatting (if there is more than one) every x amount of minutes, and/or when someone logs in/out. That way the forum site can cache the who's on line in a small table... get an accruate list and member link for who is chatting, keep the 'who is online' up to date, and dramatically reduce bandwidth while keeping information accurate.

Just a thought... Im going off to install ;)

I think this is a great idea, it also might help to clear up the problem we are having with incompatible user names?

The next version will be able to do exactly that :) We've completely redesigned and enhanced the remote authentication system. The next release of this mod will be more tightly integrated with the chat software :)

Quick update --

SigmaChat v7.4 Beta is now getting very close to final release. We're currently testing Release Candidate 2 with our beta testers.

RaiderSoft has also transitioned it's support forums from IPB 1.3 to VB 3.0.3 :D

You can view the future release in action at http://support.raidersoft.com/forums/chat.php?

We hope to have an updated vBulletin/SigmaChat integration module ready by the time v7.4 goes final.

Cheers!

Any word on this?

V7.4 was released and uploaded to their servers at 18:15 EDT today.

It looks pretty promising.

I am thinking about buying the Platinum service because of this script. But, is the ability there to build a chat page from scratch, instead of having it integrated in the vB design? And have it popup? (You know, like music artists chat rooms.)

I wrote a quick hack that lets you look up a member's profile from within SigmaChat 7.4. You just upload one file and add a Remote Function in your SigmaChat control panel. Easy!

Here is where the hack is located:

Don't forget to click Install :) Thanks!
