I upgraded from 2.1.4 (or whatever it was) to this version. The upgrade went fine and all seems to be working. The only problem is that there is no longer a link to the awards page in the nav bar. Should there be? Does it have to be added manually?

I ended up manually editing the Navbar, adding a link to the awards page. I'll watch this thread for answer though.

This is a great mod. I DID nominate it for MOTM

Just wondering how server intense this hack is...

Will it add much load, Im on shared hosting, and would like to make sure its not going to slow anything down...

many thanks

I have not noticed any extra load on my server, I am also in the process of turning all my images into .png which will make it load faster on the main awards page and for users who have a lot of awards in there profile.

When ever I add a user to an award I get this error:

Quote:

Warning: mysql_insert_id() [function.mysql-insert-id]: A link to the server could not be established in [path]/admincp/award.php on line 581

______

Whenever I click on the medal, the total awards or the awrds showcase links in the postpit I get :

Quote:

Content Encoding Error

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

^That's using firefox 3, with IE I get a blank page.

The above message is also displayed if I try to veiw a members profile page who has been awarded a medal, members with no medals awarded have profile pages can be viewed without error.

check this thread to see what I mean:

I have re upped the files into their folders on the server and uninstalled and reinstalled the xml through the plugin manager a few times.

Any ideas?

You know, the more I've thought about this, I actually kind of glad that a link is not automatically inserted into the Navbar. There are several mods that do so and the bar gets a bit crowded. I have double Navbars on my site and by adding it manually, I was able to put it in the additional bar.

Xanlamin 08-19-2008 11:24 PM

This is why we do not have it auto adding it, since we do not know how many navbars people have nor which they would want it in anyways, it is always better to leave it up to them if they want to add it and where. My site for example does not have it in the navbar at all, since I have it in the navigation menu in vBAdvanced.

We will look into using that version of Firefox, I am still on 2.0.

In the Manage Awards you will see the persons name listed twice, check the box of one of them and remove them.

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade?
