The coding is different. Added mods work through the database so they use more system resouyrces. Also every time you upgrade you gotta redo them.
Core code is faster, more closely integrated, and needs less tweaking on upgrades.

I've always shyed away from lightbox due to the well kept secret that you can get a LOT of traffic from google image search alone!

The lightbox shouldn't interfere with that. Since Googlebot doesn't process HTML and vBulletin recognizes this, then it will be presented with a standard link to the image to follow.

This was announced days ago, if you read the proper announcements... They are testing it, doesn't mean it will be released soon...


ok, stupidly, we can say that for 3.5 and 3.6, the release of the first RC were 2 or 3 weeks after the first public tests... and RCs are not for Production Sites... you have to take care of what you're doing with RCs!
