Hello, I installed this beautiful mod (chat).
A question you can deny access to the default channel for some user groups, but may enter other channels created for them? sorry for my English thanks |

Not sure if you already found this out but unicode characters will break the chat box version 2.3.2
|
I was updating to newest version 2.4.2 and now when going to my site you get an error..
Fatal error: Call to undefined function can_view_mgc_cb_evo() in /home/...... /forums/modules/mgc_cb_evo1.php on line 3 I read that it isn't compatible with VBadvanced or something? But I don't even have the chatbox enabled to show on my vbadvanced page so I am confused. Does anyone have any information about this. |

If you get this error what you need to do is go into ADMIN CP > VBA CMPS > EDIT MODULES > If you have the MGC chat box module showing you need to get rid of it. I deleted mine and fixed my issue. |
Hey,
Thanks for the awesome addon. Marked as installed. My forum members are loving it. Now I have the typable field set to be underneath as this looks cleaner. But because there is excess space I was wondering how I could make it wider? Where can I find the code to change the typeable field's width? Thanks |

In option 'chats formatting' look for "Input type editor: input field size". And change that. |

nevermind, got it solved

After reading hundreds of posts and trying EVERYTHING by "THE LETTER"! I finally stumbled upon a solution (for me at least)...
I upgraded from a perfectly working version only to be confronted with the "LOADING" message. I edit the .js files, re-installed, and everything else this thread recommended doing. I'm running vbulletin off of my root and vBA. My Solution may or may not work for you but it won't damage anything to try... Copy the clientscript directory in the .zip file into your root. For example... www.yoursitename.com/clientscript >>>>Copied to here. www.yoursitename.com/forums/clientscript I'm running the "forums" version. So I copied the clientscript dir to the root and voila. Not the cleanest but I searched high and low for a reference to the php file within all of the files in the script to change the path but could not find it. It's working now and I'm happy. |
in private chats (tabs) how do i make new messages appear on bottom? This works in main chat channel window (as i have set), but i can't find where to set that for private chats
also, it seems that on private chat windows are not autoupdated, so if chat partner sends me a message, i don't see it unless i click on main chat channel window... any ideas how to get that working? |

Second... I did read Stangger5's thread and did try all of the suggestions in that thread too... They didn't work either. They worked for the previous version of MGCChatbox, but not for this particular upgrade. The fix that I posted above which you say is "wrong" WORKS FOR ME and might help out a few other people who are having the same issue I WAS having BEFORE applying what you consider "WRONG". Now I know it's not the prettiest thing. I hate when things aren't tidy and neat but, this is how I was finally able to get it working after reading through hundreds of posts (Before posting my "fix"). Thanks. |
No need to apologize bro. I just wasn't sure if you knew which thread you were in. ;)
Yeah, having the VBa MGC chat module can be a pain....Template edits to fix if it wasn't in the default location. Ugh.... I know Stagger knows how to fix so try pm'n him too..Sometimes he just forgets. |
Ok...This doesn't give a timeframe, but it gives you guys an indication of what's going on so everyone is in the loop...
This is from AW taking over the project: Quote:

@Ranger187,
I see that you can post on the forum of MGC. Can you post this link: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=5846 In a new thread there? It's the bug I found which was also confirmed by someone else. Hoping they will take it in their new version. Thanks in advance! |
Is there a demo of this somewhere? The site no longer has that demo.

Hi, not sure where I should be posting this, so feel free to point me to the correct forum.
I've recently upgraded to vBulletin 4. I uninstalled all plugins beforehand and everything seemed to go well. However, now when I try to update the usergroups, I receive the following message (see the error marked in red): Code:
Database error in vBulletin 4.0.1: |

Hi, yes I have...I uninstalled it before I upgraded to VB4, that's why I can't understand this error. :(
|
