I think you'll need sql looking like this. Let us know how it goes.

PHP Code:

//get total LDM downloads downloaded
$queryd="SELECT COUNT(*) AS downloaded FROM local_linksdownloads";
$downloadeda mysql_query_eval($queryd,$link);
$downloadedb mysql_fetch_array($downloadeda);
$totaldownloadeds=number_format($downloadedb['downloaded']);
mysql_free_result($downloadeda);

//get total LDM links available
$querye="SELECT COUNT(*) AS download FROM local_linkslink";
$downloada mysql_query_eval($querye,$link);
$downloadb mysql_fetch_array($downloada);
$totaldownloads=number_format($downloadb['download']);
mysql_free_result($downloada);

//get latest LDM download
$queryf"SELECT linkname AS newdownload FROM local_linkslink ORDER BY linkdate DESC LIMIT 1"
$latestdownloada mysql_query_eval($queryf,$link);
$latestdownloadb mysql_fetch_array($latestdownloada);
$latestdownload$latestdownloadb['newdownload'];
mysql_free_result($latestdownloada);

Okay then, I will be happy to stop. :)

I did a quick search about a quick editor feature, as I think it would be a very good thing to have, especially to people who submit and don't know or use a different version of BBcode.

I see you are looking into it already, but I would suggest just use the standard quick editor template.

I have a couple hacks in mine already (spell checker, which I should use a lot more often) but it will give a consistant appearance with the rest of the VB system, so it will be easy to use for everyone, as they are familar with it.

I would like to see a autolinker feature to a URL if there's a http link in the main text, just like VB does. Sometimes, you need to add a reference link or a off site link to a update thread on another board.

I'm having problems with the search feature here with this thread (way to many posts) I wish to change the listings so things align to the top instead of too the center, as it just doesn't look that good with the side bit if you have a larger text area. Can you point me to the proper template?

Thanks

Question though: I just got into VBAdvanced. I have the "ldm_new" module in the center column of my homescreen. However, I really, really, really, would like to have the thumbnails (mine are rather small) to the left of the title of the entries.

I tried and tried for hours to get that little thumbnail to appear, but wasn't able to have any success.

I am hoping this is simple, and if so, please let me know how I can implement this.

Thank you!

I think this will be straightforward - will get back to you.

Is this module available somewhere?

It's on the list - probably will not make it into 2.1.5 but soon after.

Take a look at the links_linkbit template if you are using the standard layout, or the link_linkbit_table template if you using the table layout. (Actually, I found that I was being inconsistent in the link_linkbit template - in the current 2.1.5 RC if there's a thumbnail it aligns to the top, otherwise to the middle - personally, I prefer the middle alignment, but each to their own.)

Thanks[/QUOTE]

If you are using the 2.1.5RC1 version, then edit the links_vbalinks template and include a reference to $linkimgshow somewhere in the table cell.

Thank you, just need the template. I used the standard install, so for people who also want to do this, it's line 12 to change.

Code:

<tr>
<if condition="$linkimg">
<td width="$linkimgsize" align="$stylevar[right]">

change to
Code:

<tr valign="top">
<if condition="$linkimg">
<td width="$linkimgsize" align="$stylevar[right]">

Seems to work perfectly fine, though haven't checked thumbs, as I have a GD problem with that server

Edit: Sorry, another suggestion. :)
I noticed that using the Use Policy field and adding a message does not include the child folders, so I have to include the same message for each cat within that parent folder. Maybe a option checkbox to include that message to the child folders? Would be nice, especially if you need to update the Use Policy afterwards

shiva 03-20-2006 05:27 AM

sorry, double post. You would think vborg would install the double post hack. :)

When editing and adding this for each category and child folder, once I add it, it automatically displays that page, even in admin, so it's a longer process, because I have to reselect the settings link in options every time, when it would be easier to have the screen refresh back to the admin page. I kind of prefere that it does this as well when using the edit button right at the folder listings, as I usually edit each category the same way one after another, so I have to select back to it.

Yes, I think I shall move the Use Policy into the inheritable display settings, so that it is consistent with the 'force_accept' policy. This will deal with your suggestion and also make it clearer to people. Use Policy was added quite early on, before I introduced the inheritance system.

Hi Andrew.
I'm using IE. site is http://www.hemi6pack.com/forum.local_links.php

I have my image settings at apporx 800 x 800 pixels. If I try to upload anything larger it errors to a white 404 screen. The images I was trying to load were 1000x1200. Once I resized them they uploaded immediately so I assumed it was the vB settings. Otherwise not sure.

shiva 03-20-2006 08:11 PM

here's another one... :)

I would like the ability to hide certain listings untill I can make sure they are valid, or is a trustworthy source, as my community likes exe files, and is very high end. I found such a link, and tried to set a cat so only I, as a admin can see it.

I thought it would be by pointing to the admin only board that I have in my forum, but that board does not show at all when I try and add the new admin only category.
It is restricted at least, but is still viewable on the listing to a regular member, or even a guest.

I think having a admin only setting would be nice, so that it's not viewable by anyone else. I read the manual, I may have missed it, but just having the system reconise a admin board on your forum, and transfereing over the permissions as set in that board would be a good idea
