Great Mod !

Need help on what to put in this box (below) I tried putting only the forum name but it showed up on all pages.
Show ChatBox on pages (comma separated THIS_SCRIPT locations)
Blank to show on all pages (not recommended because of server load)

I want to use it only for our staff forum and not the public forum . any help please?

Hi Dale.B

you have to Block the users that you dont want to view the Chatbox

In usergroup permissions
Look at the last pic on right above in Screenshot (by the coder)

set usergroup NOT able to view forums to all but your staff/member that you want

to see your usergroups goto to
admin C/p
Usergroups
Usergroup manager
Then on the right hand side of the screen you'll have user Id

Thats the number you type in
default is 1,8 (unregistered & Banned)

Then to edit like SS
goto admin c/p
Options
Vsa Chatbox
Permissions
Usergroups NOT able to view ChatBox (comma separated ID list)

In that box you mentioned Show ChatBox on pages

Installed and uninstalled because of :-

i already put the refresh rate to every 10sec, but yeah, every 10sec the space between user chat is moving up and down.

but its only when using google chrome.

This is because the statusicon imaged changed in vb 4.0.8 from .gif to .png im working on a fix and ill get back to you all asap.

Ok guys do the following to fix the issue until they update the plugin

Goto: Plugins & Products

Export the VSa - Chatbox, saving it to your computer.

Open with text editor or xml editor

Find & Change the following lines:

Code:

Line 1576: '/post_new.gif' -> '/post_new.png'

Line 1580: '/post_old.gif' -> '/post_old.png'

Line 1797: '/post_new.gif' -> '/post_new.png'

Line 1801: '/post_old.gif' -> '/post_old.png'

If you smilie button isnt working replace this line also.

Code:

Line 888: '/smilie.gif' -> '/smilie.png'

Re-install the plugin replacing the old version and bingo.. all fixed.

Hi, there is a lot of pages here and im struggling to find the info I need. I would like to place the shoutbox in one forum only. Basically my site has 2 levels of users, pg13 and over 18's. I want the chat box to the in the over 18's forum only.

Is there a way to do that? Example the forum number is 98 (no not that many forums, just a number of changes over the years)

I'll appologise in advance if this has been answered.

Now please stick with me as i'm a total noob at all this. I've downloaded this chatbox and it's exactly what i'm after.

My only problem is that the icon to the left of the time/date and the text for the smilie drop down box are not showing. The link is there but the image/text is not shown. What is in place is a small icon in the shape of a page with 3 colors in it.

This icon is putting the text out of place etc

Please please please help
