Oh okay, well, there is no media icon. :)

AME parses the URL automatically. There's nothing for users to do other then post a link. They don't even have to know the media will embed. AME handles all that for them. It's kinda the point of the modification. AME takes away ever having to bother with BBCode. It doesn't just take out one or two steps, it takes out every step and does it all for you.

That's a "nomedia" icon. It's for definitions that detect for when a video will not embed and displays the image next to a plain text link.

After all, what do you need a button for, when the link converts all on it's own?

Speaking of the "no media" icon is there something else I need to do to get that to work? I've never seen that icon come up even though people link to videos that say "embedding has been disabled by request." ?

Only works if the definition for a specific site is designed to check for validation. YouTube was like that for time, before people starting having trouble with it always failing validation. I generally don't design defs to check for that unless it's really necessary. I had to do that for Flickr, if I remember correctly.

Oh, it's fine with this. What I was saying was that when The Geek first released validation, he did it with the YouTube def, but it didn't work right with YouTube, so we just blanked the validation field out.

I might have confused you when I said I'd reply in "the" thread. I really didn't specify which thread. Sorry about that. The question I asked over in the other thread was have you checked the trouble shooting guide I posted on the first page of media definitions to make sure everything that could be done was done?
