Admin CP >> Languages & Phrases >> Search in Phrases

When you went here, what did you find? You're just searching for the phrase video_directory and then editing it to say what you want. That's actually easier than a template edit.

Template edits seem easier for me. lol
Why dont people just add a spot in the ACP options for what they want it to read in the navbar.?

But i do have a weird issue going on.. I get "Database Error" emails sent to me from the site..?

This is what the email says..
Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT * FROM youtube_playlists WHERE userid IN (0, 0) ORDER BY listname;

MySQL Error  : Table 'NCJB327.youtube_playlists' doesn't exist
Error Number  : 1146
Request Date  : Thursday, February 25th 2010 @ 05:09:40 PM
Error Date    : Thursday, February 25th 2010 @ 05:09:40 PM

Referrer      :
IP Address    : 216.129.119.14

Is this caused by people trying to upload things incorrectly or is it automatically trying to do something that causes this.?

Thanks

Because phrasing it makes it global, which makes it easier to make translations, which means you already have one place in the ACP where you can change it. Once you learn what that does, it's pretty simple to change any phrase globally on your forum, rather then editing every instance of it in the templates, which then need to be reverted after every upgrade and you'd have to make the change again. Not so with phrases.

The error suggests that an unregistered user, probably a crawl bot, is accessing features it shouldn't have access to. You can try editing the robots.txt file to try and block them from accessing the directory.

:up:This is definitely one of my favorite mods for 3.8.4 Are there any plans to upgrade this to be used with VB4?

New problem, different board. lol

The first video posted (at the bottom) set up correctly: Info is on the right, description is on the left, but then the next 3 videos added have all the info all mashed together on the right.. When the description should be on the left where the yellow X's are.

Any ideas.?

(disregard the smaller, thicker yellow circle around the "Add Video" button, i was explaining something to someone else. :))

PS. Also it only does the info wrong for other people, not when i add a video. (admin)

Another thing I've noticed is that it looks fine in Google Chrome.!?
How would it only screw up other peoples posts, & not mine if it was a browser thing.!?

Looks to me like maybe invalid HTML somewhere, possible not even related to that section. Something is definitely not closed right on that page. If your not familiar with the Validator, check the link to the article in my signature and scroll down to the section where I take about validation. I'm afraid, this may take you a while to root out.

That could be a great asset to any site eh..!!
I would hope that i could get any/all of my boards to pass. :)

I went here - http://validator.w3.org
And found - 9 Errors, 2 warning(s)

But they dont really say where to find these codes.? (which template or where to look)
or does that check only the front page..?
Do i need to type in the url of each page individually.!? (that will take some time. lol)

Holy Crap.. 56 Errors, 7 warning(s) on Video Page.

Actually its not as bad as it seems a lot of them are

Go to your Admin CP >> vBulletin Options >> vBulletin Options >> General Settings >> Add Template Name in HTML Comments. Tick this to Yes. vB will now put comments in the Source Code where each of your templates begin and end.

Rerun the Validator with the Show Source option selected. This will create links in the error messages that jump down the page to where your Source Code is being displayed, right to the line it detected the error on. Remember that it only detects the error in this vicinity. It could be that something before that is incorrect. You'll need to look around and possibly do some Google searches to understand what each means. Start with the top one first, as errors tend to cascade. Fixing one can fix a bunch below, or reveal others that the Vaildator couldn't previously detect.

You're fortunate, you only have 9 errors. When I started learning about Validation, I had over 600. At the very least, you can say that page is vaild when your done.

That box is already checked "Yes" ?

Should we take this somewhere else, i hate to clutter up this thread.?
