Maybe this post: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=1364 :)

Brilliant, thank you. I hadn't realised you had to use in conjunction with the in-built advertising module. I can now see a test banner. I'll take a look to see how easy it is to add my own banners...thanks again.

Do you have to define the ad positions or are they built in? I tried to change the one that works and can't see it in any postion other than 0.

It's an issue which seems to happen lately to more people ... it has to do with the div tag with no class or style attached and it seems as if Chrome does some magic with simple div tags. Please see here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....postcount=1398

:)

thanks for pointing me in the right direction, that code works good

You can use it together with the in-built advertising module, but I would suggest not. My suggestion is to use directly the templates, because it is significantly faster on large sites ;)

So I disable Ads in the in-built module, I;ve enabled ad in this mod but it still doesn't show...I guess I'm doing something wrong :-(

Just not getting this at all.

Did you watch the movie in the very first post?

jnmann 08-10-2011 09:22 AM

OK, followed the video through to the letter and still nothing.

jnmann 08-10-2011 09:43 AM

OK, reinstalled the package and I have 2 banners...at long last! How do I get them to randomly rotate?

Does rotate simply mean randomly appear on screen refresh?

can you disable stats with this?

Hello,
This is working in our vB 4.1.5 PL1 installation with vBSEO
I followed the formatting instruction on the PDF.

I think that my questions are basics that are flying over my head.
A test banner is not showing, when called from a post in a thread.

I have the default Google Ads enabled in "ID" 1 and 2.
I created a test banner, located in ID 3.

Can I call this banner within a post?
What about calling it within a CMS Article?

I place the @vbbanners:3@ yet come up with no banner in the post or Article.

Am I messing up somewhere?
Something I should check?

Thank you very much for your work and your help!! Greatly appreciated!

========
Adding a little bit more:
On the test thread, I placed on a post @vbbanners:5@
Then set the test banner's Position to 5

When I load the test thread, the banner comes up at the very top of the page, before anything else.
It has
Code:

" />
at the end.
In addition, the "Destination URL" is not working (ie: the image is not "clickable" for a jump to the URL)

Messing up somewhere?
