Hi Kirby

Where is a description of this hack? Screenshots? Demo? at least a Link to the original would be nice ;)

Keep up your good work anyway hehe

Andreas 11-15-2005 01:05 PM

Beta 1 is now available

Cedric_FP 11-15-2005 01:14 PM

How should we upgrade? Just re-upload everything and then overwrite XML?

Updated Default Templates
The templates shown on this page have been updated in the default template set since you customized them.

It may be necessary for you to revert the custom templates, or otherwise check that they fully support vBulletin 3.5.1. If you do not do this, some sections of vBulletin may not function! Please see the release announcements at the vBulletin.com Forums for more information.

If you have customized the Templates you will have to revert them, yes.

yep, I'd like to know the same. I have a lot of moods installed with images linked, is everything going to be erased on install?

Ky Kiske 11-15-2005 04:24 PM

Is there a detailed list of the bugs fixed? Or a public changelog?

OneShot 11-15-2005 04:30 PM

Had to revert one template but aside from that it works great. Only thing which is actually no Bug, how can I change the order of Journal entries so the oldest get displayed first?

Andreas 11-15-2005 05:04 PM

For those Bugs that had been reported:

Allan 11-15-2005 05:28 PM

Screens to beta1 please :p

Andreas 11-15-2005 05:44 PM

No screenshots.

dwillb 11-15-2005 05:46 PM

Was a CMPS block released with this version? I know it was mentioned that it'd be released but I didn't see one included.

Thanks again for this release :)

Andreas 11-15-2005 05:52 PM

Whoops! Guess I forgot to upload this ;)
Will do so soon.

dwillb 11-15-2005 06:03 PM

Awesome - thanks a mil. And no rush, just something I was interested in for this release.

dirtycrow 11-15-2005 06:08 PM

how do i upgrade from 1.0.2 Alpha 3 to the current version?

Andreas 11-15-2005 06:18 PM

As you would upgrade any Hack:
Upload the files, import the product XML.

OneShot 11-15-2005 06:24 PM

I just wanted to BUMP this question ...

Not possible.

will any journal entries be lost? no template changes needed?

Andreas 11-15-2005 06:32 PM

No data will be lost.
If you have customized the Templates, you will have to revert them.

Did you change any SQL Queries along the way or a change in the template to make them display now the newest first? Because I would like to revert to the Linear style, ie the oldest first. So I would change the necessary part in a file or template, just need to know where to look.

Thanks.

reverting is needed? so then i do have to add in your template changes and all my other templates changes?

Andreas 11-15-2005 07:06 PM

?
I don't understand your question dirtycow.

@OneShot
Several queries have been modified, as well as Templates - as users wanted it to be in reversed order ;)

sorry. i was just trying to make sure i understood this correctly.

from what i think i am hearing it is this; part of the upgrade is me reverting my templates, which are modified since i have other hacks on my site and that will result in me working to replace them all after the upgrade.

which templates in particular have to be reverted?

i uploaded the files and overwrote the plug in. seems to be working fine. i do thank you for your hard work.

i am still a little confused as to which templates you were speaking of.

dirtycrow 11-15-2005 07:25 PM

anyone else missing buddy_journals.gif & myjournal.gif?

Andreas 11-15-2005 07:25 PM

The journal_*-Templates.

akoj 11-15-2005 07:29 PM

OK, I really screwed up...completely my fault. I uninstalled it then installed instead of just overwriting. (I have had all kids home with pneumonia for weeks so I am not thinking clearly). Of course, all my old journal are gone. Anyway to get them back?

Andreas 11-15-2005 07:29 PM

Seems like they were mystically missing in the ZIP.
Updated.

Andreas 11-15-2005 07:31 PM

@akoj
If you uninstall, all data related to this Hack will be deleted.
I am sorry, but you can't get it back.
You could take a backup and reload tables journals, journal_entries and journal_comments.

OneShot 11-15-2005 08:03 PM

Found a solution to my problem.

open Journal.php with your favourite TextEditor and go to line 836

change
Code:

ORDER BY entrydate DESC
to
Code:

ORDER BY entrydate ASC
and bingo, the posts will now be listed in Linear order, oldest first.

Only thing that kinda bugs me is the fact that the IDs of the posts will list in reverse order. For example if you have 6 entries in your journal the first entry will actually have the ID No. 6 and the last will have No. 1 (after my small modification - if you dont change it then the ID will look correct). I guess changing that would involve just another simple change, but I'm currently to lazy to check up on that. And since its no bug, who cares.

akoj 11-15-2005 08:15 PM

Thanks Andreas. That is what I figured. Guess I was hoping for a miracle :) Great hack and thanks for the update!

trackpads 11-15-2005 08:41 PM

Andreas,

Great hack and thanks to you and OK for the work on it.

2 Questions:

1. Is there a CMPS block yet?
2. Would you be able to add attachments to the next version?

Also, could you add the journal pages to the bottom of the profile page like this hack request?

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=100730

Thanks so much, very apprecaited!!!!!

OK fixed it ... in journal.php

$navbits['']= $vbphrase['add_entry'];

should be

$navbits['']= $vbphrase['post_new_entry'];

Flow Fusion 11-15-2005 09:52 PM

Members or I can't seem to view comments. I reverted all templates and idea why?

Andreas 11-15-2005 09:58 PM

Check permissions.

@moonclamp
Please report the navbits thing as a bug, thank you.

Flow Fusion 11-15-2005 10:03 PM

Sorry I see, you need to click the link to see them. Great hack, thanks.

1. You are not logged in. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page and try again.
2. You may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
3. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
That's what I get :)

Sorry I fixed it. Thanks for the quick reply.
