Standard upgrade procudeure as with all Hacks:

Upload files, run installer/import XML

dxguru 02-15-2006 10:42 AM

Will the upgrade have any effect on existing events?
..Open with or without bets
..Closed but not paid out yet

BTW ... thanks for the great work :)

Andreas 02-15-2006 10:47 AM

Yes, it will delete all your events and turn your 'puter into a rocketlauncher ... NOT.

MPDev 02-15-2006 11:53 AM

I did the upgrade, but now my current events display:

You may not bet on this event. You have placed 0 bet(s) on this Event.

Edit: Seems $allowbetting is set to 1 and then set to 0 in several places if they meet conditions that they cannot bet. But then you check:

if ($allowbetting)

which I think you want !$allowbetting, no?

Edit 2: Well, I thought so, but changing this produced:

You may bet on this event. You have 0 cash and have placed 0 bet(s) on this Event. You may bet more than once on this Event.

And 0 cash seems to be an issue.

Edit 3: Okay, found the problem, in functions_vbookie.php (change in bold):

Code:

        switch ($vbulletin->options['vbookiecash'])
        {
                case 'vcash':
                        $cash = (int)$vbulletin->userinfo['vbookie_cash'];

Cheertobi 02-15-2006 12:01 PM

Seems like the grouppermissions are not saved! Cannot allow any usergroup to place a bet or even bet!

Tobi

Andreas 02-15-2006 12:23 PM

@MPDev
Dang ... I had fixed that already but accidently packaged the wrong file :-/

@Cheertobi
Follow the installation instructions correctly and the perms will be saved

MPDev 02-15-2006 12:29 PM

Should I redownload the functions_vbookie.php or was that the only "issue"?

Andreas 02-15-2006 12:30 PM

It was the only issue (that I am aware of)

kylek 02-15-2006 08:21 PM

"Added support for eBux"

If we had before edited the functions_vbookie.php to get it to work with eBux, is there anything to do or just reupload the files and import the product again?

Ok, I will check this on friday, but I think I did everything like it is said in the instructions.

Setup your permissions in Usergroups / Usergroup Manager (and, if necessary, in Forums & Moderators / Forum Permissions too)
Das habe ich versucht auf Yes zu setzen und jedesmal stehen die Settings nach dem Speichern wieder auf No. Mhhh, ich schau nochmal genau nach...

Tobi

Andreas 02-15-2006 08:43 PM

As always, the bitfield XML file must be in place before the product XML is being imported.
If this was not the case, you either have to rebuild the bitfield cache manually - or import the product XML again.

DS MrSinister 02-15-2006 11:29 PM

thxs for the update. Still cant goto my page 2,3 or 4 of my settled bets. it takes me back to the main page of vbookie.

done! thanks!

Andreas 02-15-2006 11:37 PM

Report it as a bug then
Would be best if you could include a link to your installation that does have the problem

cdorka 02-16-2006 12:38 AM

my permissions show me as Yes i can post edit and bet, but in the forum is doesnt give me the field to bet and says i cannot place a bet.

i followed everything right.

Andreas 02-16-2006 12:49 AM

<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=900929&postcount=526" target="_blank">https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showp...&postcount=526</a>
If you downloaded the ZIP before this post, download it again and replace functions_vbookie.php

Otherwise check your vBookie settings.

cdorka 02-16-2006 12:55 AM

still no dice, uploaded functions_vbookie.php and permissions say Yes on everything.

hmm...

Andreas 02-16-2006 01:08 AM

Which cash system do you use?
Do you have enough cash to bet?
Did you check the Forum Permissions?

cdorka 02-16-2006 01:11 AM

im using vcash
i have enough cash
i made a new bet with 3-1 odds and couldnt bet after creating it.

i checked forum permisions many times on forum and through usergroups, it says yes on all three...

Andreas 02-16-2006 01:16 AM

Then I am at a loss to explain why it does not work.
Feel free to drop me a PM with an ACP login

cdorka 02-16-2006 01:32 AM

i upgraded, so i replaced the 3 entries in the newthread, navbit and postbit templates

i had to make a vbphrase for the money in the postbit, i think it was vbookie_bcash

Andreas 02-16-2006 01:44 AM

vbookie_vcash ... yes, that phrase is missing in the XML (due to the fact I created it for product vBulletin, not vBookie ;))

cdorka 02-16-2006 01:48 AM

thanks for your help. Working good now!

shaynehammy 02-16-2006 03:28 AM

Redirect problem has gone and all working perfectly now. Thanks Andreas.

cOuNtErFiET 02-16-2006 03:53 AM

ok im new to this bookie stuff, so idk whats up and i think i need the ucash hooks it says in the readme? where would i get them in the ucash and ushop thread or do i have to have them specially made or what? and will it work with the new ucash thts out?

AlchemyX 02-16-2006 05:25 AM

It's odd... I try to edit the vBookie permissions in my usergroup manager, but it doesn't update... it just keeps all of everyone's vBookie settings a "No" no matter how many times I try.

Mika 02-16-2006 07:28 AM

You need to rebuild bitfields (page 29 - message number 431)

http://www.path.to.your.forums/admin...buildbitfields

cuphongle 02-16-2006 09:19 AM

i installed and everything went great, but when i go into usergroup manager, and give the permission, i checked yes for all of them, and go back in again....its checked no again

cuphongle 02-16-2006 09:20 AM

nevermind, saw the rebuiild

Andreas 02-16-2006 12:28 PM

It should never-ever be necessary to rebuilt the bitfield cache manually if you follow the installation instructions correctly ...

MPDev 02-16-2006 12:42 PM

Yeah, it was strange; I followed the directions expicitly, but still had to rebuild the bitfields as the changes to the settings wouldn't stick.

baerwurz 02-16-2006 03:09 PM

can be deleted.

sorry

Dawnf1 02-16-2006 06:08 PM

I have the same problem that cdorka had, and I can't resolve it, I have checked my permissions and everything should be fine.
I rebuilt the bitfields too, whatever that is, in case it helped, which it didnt.
I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with the phrase
vbookie_vcash
which seems to have solved the problem for cdorka - where do I put it?

Andreas 02-16-2006 06:16 PM

vbookie_vcash should be in phrasegroup GLOBAL

However, if you downloaded the ZIP after post #541, it is already in the XML.

And just FYI: The phrase has nothing to do with not being able to bet (which ist most likely caused by incorrect settings or permissions)

Ok.
Well, I installed your newer version of the xml with that phrase in, and didn't change anything else, and now it works. So, it must have some effect on it.

Thanks for the help.

teamgofast 02-16-2006 10:04 PM

this hasnt worked for me since i upgraded to 3.53, ive rebuilt, uninstalled/reinstalled uploaded the new version yada yada yada, and nothing, the new thread and show thread portions do not show up for me. i really wish i hadnt upgraded, this is more important to my small site then any upgrade.. :(

Andreas 02-16-2006 10:22 PM

Then you did smth. wrong :)
Check your template edits, vBookie settings and permissions.
If it still does not work out, send me a PM with an ACP login.

Frank Butcher 02-16-2006 11:10 PM

This is going to sound really dumb and please forgive me as I am new to VBB but with the upload folder where is it uploaded to ?

that folder should be called includes, its contents go there. same goes for the xml folder, its contents would go in the includes/xml folder

NoRespect 02-17-2006 02:35 AM

I had 1.05 installed and working fine. Upgraded to 1.06 and no bets paid out after the event was settled. :(
