That happens also when im installing it... HELP PLEASE!

i'm getting this when trying to install

How do I get the shoutbox to appear on my forum homepage? what are the template changes to be done? Cuz in the Installation Instructions, they say nothin bout that...

yes you did miss the instructions, you have to add it to your forumhome template

Here is the instructions:
NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current

1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Please POINT OUT where it tells you when to EDIT TEMPLATES and what to do???

Is there anyway to stop this refreshing in the forumhome, when I submit a shout it goes back to the top of the page, its a slightly annoying problem of an otherwise excellent addon.

btw..when i post a new shout the whole page refreshes...is there a way 2 refresh the iframe insted of the whole page?

Ok I uploaded the files and double checked to see they were all there. Ran the installation but I did not see where to make any changes to any files/templates. Therefore I do not see the shoputbox on the forum or in my admincp. I am sure I missed something along the way so how do I go back and find what I need ?

Update; I have the shout box settings in my admin cp but no links to it on the forum any where. I am still missing something here.

Got it all straigtened out. Just had to put on the eyeglasses to read where to click for the file and template changes link ;)

I'm also looking for a way to just refresh the shoutbox when there is a shout, guessing it's just a template edit, but have someone found a way to do this?

We love this hack on my forum.
Just one thing I was wondering, and have read all the posts here, is there a way to change the size of the shoutbox ? Like to make it not as tall ?

Requests:

* Can I show the number of shouts a member has made in their postbit?
* Can I increase the number of top shouters shown on the leaderboard area?
(figured this on out - in the shoutbox settings in vbulletin options I could increase the number of people shown on the leaderboard)

Also, when I go to shoutbox.php, and try to use the advanced window to add colors and different sizes, the autocontrols dont work. If i physically type the code in, it does, but I can't use the drop down selection boxes like i can in a post

I tried to install Shoutbox but i get this error when I type http://www.yoursite.com/install/hack_install.php ( I removed my site name for this post) Below is the error message I see when I try to install

Has anyone gotten this to stop counting a users shouts if they keep submitting them (even though they have a max of, say, 10 shouts a day)?

If they keep submitting shouts (even though they won't DISPLAY) their counter just continues to go up and up and up making the leaderboard useless.. ;)

Need a bit of help

shoutbox is working fine but any shout i make dont show in the iframe on the index page and this has happened since i changed host and moved everything over.

Anyone got an idea on a fix for this ??

whereever you want it to appear..

Same problem for me. It installed fine and the options for the shoutbox are in my Admin CP, but I don't see a shout box. It is turned on in the CP.

so what do i upload to the forums folder?

it says upload then it says in that folder install and hacks and his hacks etc, do i just upload absolulty evry single file individually to the forums root?

The contents of the upload folder is an "install" folder and a "shoutbox.php". Just place them in your fourms folder.

yeh but do i have to create a folder called install or just upoad all the files inside the install folder?

upload files into the already existant install folder ^^

create a folder called install. I just drop the install folder via FTP and it creates it and uploads the contents.

and what about the over folders called 14 for instance?????

I have no such folder. I just uploaded the install folder and my FTP app creates all folders and sub folders and uploads all files.

in the zip i downloaded has the install folder and then a folder called 14 with loads of other stuff in it?

i use smartftp it wont let me just drag the whole file across

ok. I see it now. I also use SmartFTP and when I drop a folder to my FTP site it creates that folder and all subfolders for me. Try again just dropping the folder.
